2 Corinthians 9

1 Now, concerning the ministry that is done toward the saints, it is not necessary for me to write to you.	1 Quant à ce service en faveur des saints, il est superflu pour moi de vous en écrire.
2 For I know your willing mind. I glory about you, concerning this, to the Macedonians. For Achaia has also been prepared, for the past year. And your example has inspired very many others.	2 Je sais en effet votre ardeur, dont je suis fier pour vous auprès des Macédoniens: "L'Achaïe,leur dis-je, est prête depuis l'an passé." Et votre zèle a été un stimulant pour le plus grand nombre.
3 Now I have sent the brothers, so that what we glory about concerning you might be not be empty in this matter, in order that (as I have explained) you may be prepared.	3 Toutefois je vous envoie les frères, pour que la fierté que nous tirons de vous ne soit pasréduite à néant sur ce point, et que vous soyez prêts, ainsi que je l'ai dit.
4 Otherwise, if the Macedonians arrive with me and find you unprepared, we (not to mention you) would be ashamed in this matter.	4 Autrement, si des Macédoniens venaient avec moi et ne vous trouvaient pas prêts, notre belleassurance tournerait à notre confusion, pour ne pas dire à la vôtre.
5 Therefore, I considered it necessary to ask the brothers to go to you in advance and to prepare this blessing as promised, and in this way, you may be ready as a blessing, not as an excess.	5 J'ai donc jugé nécessaire d'inviter les frères à nous précéder chez vous, et à organiser d'avancevotre largesse déjà annoncée, afin qu'elle soit prête comme une largesse et non comme une lésinerie.
6 But I say this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. And whoever sows with blessings shall also reap from blessings:	6 Songez-y: qui sème chichement moissonnera aussi chichement; qui sème largementmoissonnera aussi largement.
7 each one giving, just as he has determined in his heart, neither out of sadness, nor out of obligation. For God loves a cheerful giver.	7 Que chacun donne selon ce qu'il a décidé dans son coeur, non d'une manière chagrine oucontrainte; car Dieu aime celui qui donne avec joie.
8 And God is able to make every grace abound in you, so that, always having what you need in all things, you may abound unto every good work,	8 Dieu d'ailleurs est assez puissant pour vous combler de toutes sortes de libéralités afin que,possédant toujours et en toute chose tout ce qu'il vous faut, il vous reste du superflu pour toute bonne oeuvre,
9 just as it was written: “He has distributed widely, he has given to the poor; his justice remains from age to age.”	9 selon qu'il est écrit: Il a fait des largesses, il a donné aux pauvres; sa justice demeure à jamais.
10 And he who ministers seed to the sower will offer you bread to eat, and will multiply your seed, and will increase the growth of the fruits of your justice.	10 Celui qui fournit au laboureur la semence et le pain qui le nourrit vous fournira la semence àvous aussi, et en abondance, et il fera croître les fruits de votre justice.
11 So then, having been enriched in all things, you may abound in all simplicity, which works thanksgiving to God through us.	11 Enrichis de toutes manières, vous pourrez pratiquer toutes les générosités, lesquelles, parnotre entremise, feront monter vers Dieu l'action de grâces.
12 For the ministration of this office not only supplies whatever the saints need, but also abounds through many thanksgivings in the Lord.	12 Car le service de cette offrande ne pourvoit pas seulement aux besoins des saints; il estencore une source abondante de nombreuses actions de grâces envers Dieu.
13 And so, through the evidence of this ministry, you glorify God by the obedience of your confession in the Gospel of Christ, and by the simplicity of your communion with them and with everyone,	13 Ce service leur prouvant ce que vous êtes, ils glorifient Dieu pour votre obéissance dans laprofession de l'Evangile du Christ et pour la générosité de votre communion avec eux et avec tous.
14 and they offer prayers for you, being solicitous about you, because of the excellent grace of God within you.	14 Et leur prière pour vous manifeste la tendresse qu'ils vous portent, en raison de la grâcesurabondante que Dieu a répandue sur vous.
15 Thanks be to God for his ineffable gift.	15 Grâces soient à Dieu pour son ineffable don!
