Lettera ai Filippesi 4

1 Per la qual cosa, fratelli, miei carissimi, e amatissimi, mio gaudio, e mia corona: per tal modo tenetevi saldi nel Signore, o carissimi.	1 Therefore, my dearly beloved brethren, and most desired, my joy and my crown; so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.
2 Prego Evodia, e prego Sintiche, che abbiano gli stessi sentimenti nel Signore.	2 I beg of Evodia, and I beseech Syntyche, to be of one mind in the Lord.
3 Prego anche te, compagno fedele, porgi la mano a queste, le quali hanno meco combattuto per il vangelo con Clemente, e con gli altri miei ajutanti i nomi de' quali sono nel libro della vita.	3 And I entreat thee also, my sincere companion, help those women who have laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement and the rest of my fellow labourers, whose names are in the book of life.
4 State allegri sempre nel Signore: Io dico per la seconda volta e state allegri.	4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again, I say, rejoice.
5 La vostra modestia sia nota a tutti gli uomini: il Signore è vicino.	5 Let your modesty be known to all men. The Lord is nigh.
6 Non vi affannate per niente: ma in ogni cosa siano manifestate a Dio le vostre richieste per mezzo dell'orazione, e delle suppliche unite al rendimento di grazie.	6 Be nothing solicitous; but in every thing, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God.
7 E la pace di Dio, la quale ogni intendimento sormonta, sia a guardia de' vostri cuori, e delle vostre menti in Cristo Gesù.	7 And the peace of God, which surpasseth all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Del rimanente, o fratelli, tutto quello, che è vero, tutto quello, che è puro, tutto quello, che è giusto, tatto quello, che è santo, tutto quello, che rende amabili, tutto quello, che fa buon nome, se qualche virtù, se qualche lode di disciplina, a queste cose pensate.	8 For the rest, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever modest, whatsoever just, whatsoever holy, whatsoever lovely, whatsoever of good fame, if there be any virtue, if any praise of discipline, think on these things.
9 Le quali e apparaste, e riceveste, e udiste, e vedeste in me, queste mettete in pratica: e il Dio della pace sarà con voi.	9 The things which you have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, these do ye, and the God of peace shall be with you.
10 Io mi son poi grandemente rallegrato nel Signore, che finalmente una volta siate rifioriti a pensare a me, come pur pensavate: ma non avevate opportunità.	10 Now I rejoice in the Lord exceedingly, that now at length your thought for me hath flourished again, as you did also think; but you were busied.
11 Non parlo come per riguardo alla (mia) indigenza: imperocché ho imparato ad esser contento di quello, che io mi trovo.	11 I speak not as it were for want. For I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, to be content therewith.
12 So essere umiliato, so anche esaere nell'abbondanza; (dappertutto, e a tutte le cose sono stato avvezzato) ed esser satollo, e patir la fame; e aver copia, e patire inopia:	12 I know both how to be brought low, and I know how to abound: (everywhere, and in all things I am instructed) both to be full, and to be hungry; both to abound, and to suffer need.
13 Tutte le cose mi sono possibili io colui, che è mio conforto.	13 I can do all these things in him who strengtheneth me.
14 Per altro ben avete voi fatto nell'essere entrati a parte della mia tribolazione.	14 Nevertheless you have done well in communicating to my tribulation.
15 Ma voi pur sapete, o Filippesi, come nel principio del vangelo, allorché io partii dalla Macedonia, nissuna chiesa ebbe comunicazione con me in ragione di dare, e di avere, eccettuati voi soli:	15 And you also know, O Philippians, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but you only:
16 Imperocché anche a Tessaloniea mi mandaste una, e due volte il bisognevole.	16 For unto Thessalonica also you sent once and again for my use.
17 Non che io cerchi il dono, ma cerco il frutto abbondante a vostro conto.	17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that may abound to your account.
18 Ed io ho ritirato il tutto, e sono nell'abbondanza: sono ripieno, ricevuto avendo da Epafrodito quello, che avete mandato, odore soave, sacrificio accetta, grata a Dio.	18 But I have all, and abound: I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things you sent, an odour of sweetness, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.
19 Il mio Dio poi adempia tutti i vostri desiderj secondo le sue ricchezze con la gloria in Cristo Gesù.	19 And may my God supply all your want, according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
20 A Dio poi, e padre nostro gloria de' secoli de' secoli: cosi sia.	20 Now to God and our Father be glory world without end. Amen.
21 Salutate ciascuno de' santi in Cristo Gesù.	21 Salute ye every saint in Christ Jesus.
22 Vi salutano i fratelli,che sono con me. Vi salutano tutti i santi, e principalmente quegli, che sono della casa di Cesare.	22 The brethren who are with me, salute you. All the saints salute you; especially they that are of Caesar's household.
23 La grazia del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo col vostro spirito. Cosi sia.	23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
