KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 Therefore the Lord hath made good his word, which he pronounced against us, and against our judges that judged Israel, and against our kings, and against our princes, and against the men of Israel and Juda,	1 Aussi le Seigneur a-t-il accompli la parole qu'il avait prononcée contre nous, contre nos juges quigouvernèrent Israël, contre nos rois et nos chefs, contre les gens d'Israël et de Juda;
2 To bring upon us great plagues, such as never happened under the whole heaven, as it came to pass in Jerusalem, according to the things that were written in the law of Moses;	2 sous l'immensité du ciel ne se produisit jamais rien de semblable à ce qu'il fit à Jérusalem, selon cequi était écrit dans la Loi de Moïse:
3 That a man should eat the flesh of his own son, and the flesh of his own daughter.	3 nous en arrivâmes à manger chacun la chair de son fils, chacun la chair de sa fille.
4 Moreover he hath delivered them to be in subjection to all the kingdoms that are round about us, to be as a reproach and desolation among all the people round about, where the Lord hath scattered them.	4 De plus, il les a mis au pouvoir de tous les royaumes qui nous entourent, pour être un opprobre etune exécration parmi tous les peuples d'alentour où le Seigneur les dispersa.
5 Thus we were cast down, and not exalted, because we have sinned against the Lord our God, and have not been obedient unto his voice.	5 Ils furent assujettis au lieu d'être maîtres, parce que nous avions offensé le Seigneur notre Dieu, enn'écoutant point sa voix.
6 To the Lord our God appertaineth righteousness: but unto us and to our fathers open shame, as appeareth this day.	6 Au Seigneur notre Dieu la justice, mais pour nous et pour nos pères la honte au visage, comme il enest aujourd'hui.
7 For all these plagues are come upon us, which the Lord hath pronounced against us	7 Tous ces malheurs que le Seigneur avait énoncés contre nous sont venus sur nous.
8 Yet have we not prayed before the Lord, that we might turn every one from the imaginations of his wicked heart.	8 Nous n'avons pas supplié la face du Seigneur, chacun de nous se détournant des pensées de soncoeur mauvais:
9 Wherefore the Lord watched over us for evil, and the Lord hath brought it upon us: for the Lord is righteous in all his works which he hath commanded us.	9 alors le Seigneur a veillé sur ces malheurs et les a amenés sur nous; car le Seigneur est juste entoutes les oeuvres qu'il nous a commandées,
10 Yet we have not hearkened unto his voice, to walk in the commandments of the Lord, that he hath set before us.	10 et nous n'avons pas écouté sa voix en marchant selon les ordres que le Seigneur avait mis devantnous.
11 And now, O Lord God of Israel, that hast brought thy people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and high arm, and with signs, and with wonders, and with great power, and hast gotten thyself a name, as appeareth this day:	11 Et maintenant, Seigneur, Dieu d'Israël, toi qui tiras ton peuple du pays d'Egypte à main forte, parsignes et miracles, par grande puissance et bras étendu, te faisant de la sorte un nom comme il en est aujourd'hui,
12 O Lord our God, we have sinned, we have done ungodly, we have dealt unrighteously in all thine ordinances.	12 nous avons péché, nous avons été impies, nous avons été injustes, Seigneur notre Dieu, pour toustes préceptes.
13 Let thy wrath turn from us: for we are but a few left among the heathen, where thou hast scattered us.	13 Que ta colère se détourne de nous, puisque nous ne sommes plus qu'un petit reste parmi les nationsoù tu nous dispersas.
14 Hear our prayers, O Lord, and our petitions, and deliver us for thine own sake, and give us favour in the sight of them which have led us away:	14 Ecoute, Seigneur, notre prière et notre supplication: délivre-nous à cause de toi-même, et fais-noustrouver grâce devant ceux qui nous ont déportés,
15 That all the earth may know that thou art the Lord our God, because Israel and his posterity is called by thy name.	15 afin que la terre entière sache que tu es le Seigneur, notre Dieu, puisqu'Israël et sa race portent tonNom.
16 O Lord, look down from thine holy house, and consider us: bow down thine ear, O Lord, to hear us.	16 Seigneur, regarde de ta demeure sainte, et pense à nous, tends l'oreille et écoute,
17 Open thine eyes, and behold; for the dead that are in the graves, whose souls are taken from their bodies, will give unto the Lord neither praise nor righteousness:	17 ouvre les yeux, Seigneur, et vois; ce ne sont pas les morts dans le shéol, ceux dont le souffle futenlevé des entrailles, qui rendent gloire et justice au Seigneur;
18 But the soul that is greatly vexed, which goeth stooping and feeble, and the eyes that fail, and the hungry soul, will give thee praise and righteousness, O Lord.	18 mais l'âme comblée d'affliction, celui qui chemine courbé et sans force, les yeux défaillants et l'âmeaffamée, voilà ce qui te rend gloire et justice, Seigneur!
19 Therefore we do not make our humble supplication before thee, O Lord our God, for the righteousness of our fathers, and of our kings.	19 Nous ne nous appuyons pas sur les mérites de nos pères et de nos rois pour déposer notresupplication devant ta face, Seigneur notre Dieu.
20 For thou hast sent out thy wrath and indignation upon us, as thou hast spoken by thy servants the prophets, saying,	20 Car tu as envoyé sur nous ta colère et ta fureur, comme tu l'avais proclamé par le ministère de tesserviteurs les prophètes, en ces termes:
21 Thus saith the Lord, Bow down your shoulders to serve the king of Babylon: so shall ye remain in the land that I gave unto your fathers.	21 "Ainsi parle le Seigneur: Inclinez votre nuque et servez le roi de Babylone; alors, vous resterez aupays que j'ai donné à vos pères.
22 But if ye will not hear the voice of the Lord, to serve the king of Babylon,	22 Mais si vous n'écoutez pas l'invitation du Seigneur à servir le roi de Babylone,
23 I will cause to cease out of the cites of Judah, and from without Jerusalem, the voice of mirth, and the voice of joy, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: and the whole land shall be desolate of inhabitants.	23 je ferai cesser, aux villes de Juda et à Jérusalem, le chant de joie et le chant d'allégresse, le chant dufiancé et le chant de la fiancée, et tout le pays deviendra une désolation, sans habitants."
24 But we would not hearken unto thy voice, to serve the king of Babylon: therefore hast thou made good the words that thou spakest by thy servants the prophets, namely, that the bones of our kings, and the bones of our fathers, should be taken out of their place.	24 Mais nous n'avons pas écouté ton invitation à servir le roi de Babylone, alors tu as accompli lesparoles que tu avais prononcées par le ministère de tes serviteurs les prophètes: que les os de nos rois et les os denos pères seraient arrachés de leur lieu.
25 And, lo, they are cast out to the heat of the day, and to the frost of the night, and they died in great miseries by famine, by sword, and by pestilence.	25 Voici qu'en effet ils furent jetés dehors à la chaleur du jour et au froid de la nuit. Et l'on mourut aumilieu de terribles misères, par la famine, l'épée et la peste.
26 And the house which is called by thy name hast thou laid waste, as it is to be seen this day, for the wickedness of the house of Israel and the house of Juda.	26 Et tu fis de cette maison, qui porte ton Nom, ce qu'elle est aujourd'hui, à cause de la méchanceté dela maison d'Israël et de la maison de Juda.
27 O Lord our God, thou hast dealt with us after all thy goodness, and according to all that great mercy of thine,	27 Pourtant, tu as agi envers nous, Seigneur notre Dieu, selon toute ton indulgence et ton immensetendresse,
28 As thou spakest by thy servant Moses in the day when thou didst command him to write the law before the children of Israel, saying,	28 comme tu l'avais déclaré par le ministère de ton serviteur Moïse, le jour où tu lui commandasd'écrire ta Loi en présence des Israélites, en ces termes:
29 If ye will not hear my voice, surely this very great multitude shall be turned into a small number among the nations, where I will scatter them.	29 "Si vous n'écoutez pas ma voix, cette immense et innombrable multitude elle-même sera réduite àun petit nombre parmi les nations où je les disperserai,
30 For I knew that they would not hear me, because it is a stiffnecked people: but in the land of their captivities they shall remember themselves.	30 car je sais qu'ils ne m'écouteront point; c'est un peuple à la nuque raide. Mais dans le pays de leurexil, ils rentreront en eux-mêmes
31 And shall know that I am the Lord their God: for I will give them an heart, and ears to hear:	31 et connaîtront que je suis le Seigneur leur Dieu. Je leur donnerai un coeur et des oreilles quientendent.
32 And they shall praise me in the land of their captivity, and think upon my name,	32 Ils me loueront au pays de leur exil, ils se souviendront de mon nom;
33 And return from their stiff neck, and from their wicked deeds: for they shall remember the way of their fathers, which sinned before the Lord.	33 ils n'auront plus la nuque raide et se détourneront de leurs mauvaises actions, se rappelant le destinde leurs pères qui ont péché devant le Seigneur.
34 And I will bring them again into the land which I promised with an oath unto their fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and they shall be lords of it: and I will increase them, and they shall not be diminished.	34 Alors je les ramènerai au pays que j'ai promis par serment à leurs pères Abraham, Isaac et Jacob, etils y seront maîtres. Je les multiplierai et ils ne seront plus diminués.
35 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them to be their God, and they shall be my people: and I will no more drive my people of Israel out of the land that I have given them.	35 Pour eux, j'établirai une alliance éternelle; je serai leur Dieu et ils seront mon peuple. Et je nerepousserai plus mon peuple Israël du pays que je leur ai donné."
