1 Este es el linaje de Esaú, o sea Edom.	1 These are the descendants of Esau (that is, Edom).
2 Esaú tomó a sus mujeres de entre las cananeas: a Adá, hija de Elón el hitita, a Oholibamá, hija de Aná, hijo de Sibeón el jorita,	2 Esau took his wives from among the Canaanite women: Adah, daughter of Elon the Hittite; Oholibamah, granddaughter through Anah of Zibeon the Hivite;
3 y a Basmat, hija de Ismael, la hermana de Nebayot.	3 and Basemath, daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth.
4 Adá dio a luz para Esaú a Elifaz, Basmat le dio a Reuel.	4 Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau; Basemath bore Reuel;
5 Oholibamá le dio a Yeús, Yalam y Coré. Estos son los hijos que le nacieron a Esaú en Canaán.	5 and Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam and Korah. These are the sons of Esau who were born to him in the land of Canaan.
6 Esaú tomó a sus mujeres, hijos e hijas y a todas la personas de su casa, su ganado, todas sus bestias y toda la hacienda que había logrado en territorio cananeo, y se fue al país de Seír, enfrente de su hermano Jacob,	6 Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the members of his household, as well as his livestock comprising various animals and all the property he had acquired in the land of Canaan, and went to the land of Seir, out of the way of his brother Jacob.
7 porque los bienes de entrambos eran demasiados para poder vivir juntos, y el país donde residían no daba abasto para tanto ganado como tenían.	7 Their possessions had become too great for them to dwell together, and the land in which they were staying could not support them because of their livestock.
8 Esaú se estableció, pues, en la tierra de Seír. Esaú es Edom.	8 So Esau settled in the highlands of Seir. (Esau is Edom.)
9 Estos son los descendientes de Esaú, padre de Edom, en la montaña de Seír,	9 These are the descendants of Esau, ancestor of the Edomites, in the highlands of Seir.
10 y éstos los nombres de sus hijos: Elifaz, hijo de Adá, mujer de Esaú, y Reuel, hijo de Basmat, mujer de Esaú.	10 These are the names of Esau's sons: Eliphaz, son of Esau's wife Adah; and Reuel, son of Esau's wife Basemath.
11 Los hijos de Elifaz fueron: Temán, Omar, Sefó, Gaetam y Quenaz.	11 The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.
12 Timná fue concubina de Elifaz, hijo de Esaú, y dio a luz a Amalec. Estos son los descendientes de Adá, mujer de Esaú.	12 (Esau's son Eliphaz had a concubine Timna, and she bore Amalek to Eliphaz.) These are the descendants of Esau's wife Adah.
13 Y estos son los hijos de Reuel: Nájat, Zéraj, Sammá y Mizzá. Estos son los descendientes de Basmat, mujer de Esaú.	13 The sons of Reuel were Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These are the descendants of Esau's wife Basemath.
14 Los hijos de la mujer de Esaú, Oholibamá, hija de Aná, hijo de Sibeón, que ella dio a luz a Esaú, fueron éstos: Yeús, Yalam y Coré.	14 The descendants of Esau's wife Oholibamah--granddaughter through Anah of Zibeon--whom she bore to Esau were Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.

16 el jeque Gaetam, el jeque Amalec. Estos son los jeques de Elifaz, en el país de Edom, y éstos los descendientes de Adá.	16 Korah, Gatam, and Amalek. These are the clans of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; they are descended from Adah.
17 Los hijos de Reuel, hijo de Esaú, fueron: el jeque Najat, el jeque Zéraj, el jeque Sammá, el jeque Mizzá. Estos son los jeque de Reuel, en el país de Edom; y éstos los descendientes de Basmat, mujer de Esaú.	17 The descendants of Esau's son Reuel: the clans of Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These are the clans of Reuel in the land of Edom; they are descended from Esau's wife Basemath.
18 Los hijos de Oholibamá, mujer de Esaú, fueron: el jeque Yeús, el jeque Yalam, el jeque Coré. Estos son los jeques de Oholibamá, hija de Aná, mujer de Esaú.	18 The descendants of Esau's wife Oholibamah: the clans of Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. These are the clans of Esau's wife Oholibamah, daughter of Anah.
19 Estos son los hijos de Esaú y éstos sus jeques, los de Edom.	19 Such are the descendants of Esau (that is, Edom) according to their clans.
20 He aquí los hijos de Seír el jorita, que habitaban en aquella tierra: Lotán, Sobal, Sibeón, Aná,	20 The following are the descendants of Seir the Horite, the original settlers in the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,
21 Disón, Eser y Disán. Estos son los jeques de los joritas, hijos de Seír, en el país de Edom.	21 Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan; they are the Horite clans descended from Seir, in the land of Edom.
22 Los hijos de Lotán fueron: Jorí y Hemam, y hermana de Lotán fue Timná.	22 Lotan's descendants were Hori and Hemam, and Lotan's sister was Timna.
23 Los hijos de Sobal fueron: Alván, Manájat, Ebal, Sefó y Onam.	23 Shobal's descendants were Alvan, Mahanath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
24 Los hijos de Sibeón: Ayyá y Aná. Este es el mismo Aná que encontró las aguas termales en el desierto, cuando apacentaba los asnos de su padre Sibeón.	24 Zibeon's descendants were Aiah and Anah. (He is the Anah who found water in the desert while he was pasturing the asses of his father Zibeon.)

27 Los hijos de Eser: Bilhán, Zaaván y Acán.	27 The descendants of Ezer were Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.
28 Los hijos de Disán: Us y Arán.	28 The descendants of Dishan were Uz and Aran.
29 Estos son los jeques joritas: el jeque Lotán, el jeque Sobal, el jeque Sibeón, el jeque Aná,	29 These are the Horite clans: the clans of Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,

32 Reinó en Edom Belá, hijo de Beor; y el nombre de su ciudad era Dinhabá.	32 Bela, son of Beor, became king in Edom; the name of his city was Dinhabah.
33 Murió Belá, y reinó en su lugar Yobab, hijo de Zéraj, de Bosrá.	33 When Bela died, Jobab, son of Zerah, from Bozrah, succeeded him as king.
34 Murió Yobab, y reinó en su lugar Jusam, del país de los temanitas.	34 When Jobab died, Husham, from the land of the Temanites, succeeded him as king. He defeated the Midianites in the country of Moab; the name of his city was Avith.
35 Murió Jusam, y reinó en su lugar Hadad, hijo de Bedad, el que derrotó a Madián en el campo de Moab; y el nombre de su ciudad era Avit.	35 When Husham died, Hadad, son of Bedad, succeeded him as king.
36 Murió Hadad, y reinó en su lugar Samlá de Masrecá.	36 When Hadad died, Samlah, from Masrekah, succeeded him as king.
37 Murió Samlá, y reinó en su lugar Saúl, de Rejobot del Río.	37 When Samlah died, Shaul, from Rehoboth-on-the-River, succeeded him as king.
38 Murió Saúl, y reinó en su lugar Baal Janán hijo de Akbor.	38 When Shaul died, Baal-hanan, son of Achbor, succeeded him as king.
39 Murió Baal Janán hijo de Akbor, y reinó en su lugar Hadad; el nombre de su ciudad era Pau, y el nombre de su mujer, Mehetabel, hija de Matred, hija de Mezahab.	39 When Baal-hanan died, Hadar succeeded him as king; the name of his city was Pau. (His wife's name was Mehetabel; she was the daughter of Matred, son of Mezahab.)
40 Estos son los nombres de los jeques de Esaú, según sus familias y territorios y por sus nombres. El jeque Timná, el jeque Alvá, el jeque Yetet,	40 The following are the names of the clans of Esau individually according to their subdivisions and localities: the clans of Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,
41 el jeque Oholibamá, el jeque Elá, el jeque Pinón.	41 Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon,
42 el jeque Quenaz, el jeque Temán, el jeque Mibsar,	42 Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar,
43 el jeque Magdiel, el jeque Iram. Estos son los jeques de Edom, según sus moradas, en las tierras que ocupan. Este es Esaú padre de Edom.	43 Magdiel, and Iram. These are the clans of the Edomites, according to their settlements in their territorial holdings. (Esau was the father of the Edomites.)
