1 Prve godine perzijskoga kralja Ki- ra, da bi se ispunila riječ Jahvina objavljena na Jeremijina usta, nadahnu Jahve perzijskoga kralja Kira te on objavi po svemu svojem kraljevstvu, usmeno i pismeno:	1 In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia -- to fulfil the word of Yahweh spoken through Jeremiah -Yahwehroused the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia to issue a proclamation and to have it publicly displayed throughout hiskingdom:
2 »Ovako veli perzijski kralj Kir: ‘Sva zemaljska kraljevstva dade mi Jahve, Bog nebeski. On mi naloži da mu sagradim Dom u Jeruzalemu, u Judeji.	2 'Cyrus king of Persia says this, "Yahweh, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earthand has appointed me to build him a Temple in Jerusalem, in Judah.
3 Tko je god među vama od svega njegova naroda, Bog njegov bio s njim! Neka ide u Jeruzalem u Judeji i neka gradi dom Jahvi, Bogu Izraelovu, Bogu koji stoluje u Jeruzalemu.	3 Whoever among you belongs to the ful tal y of his people, may his God be with him! Let him go up toJerusalem, in Judah, and build the Temple of Yahweh, God of Israel, who is the God in Jerusalem.
4 I gdje god se još zadržao ostatak toga naroda, neka ga stanovništvo mjesta u kojima boravi podupre srebrom i zlatom, imanjem i stokom i dragovoljnim prinosima za dom Božji u Jeruzalemu.’«	4 And let each survivor, wherever he lives, be helped by the people of his locality with silver, gold,equipment and riding beasts, as wel as voluntary offerings for the Temple of God which is in Jerusalem." '
5 Tada ustadoše glavari obitelji Jude i Benjamina, svećenici i leviti, i svi kojima je Bog potaknuo duh i krenuše graditi dom Jahvin u Jeruzalemu.	5 Then the heads of families of Judah and of Benjamin, the priests and the Levites, in fact al whose spirithad been roused by God, prepared to go and rebuild the Temple of Yahweh in Jerusalem;
6 I svi su im susjedi pomagali: srebrom, zlatom, darovima u naravi, stokom, dragocjenostima mnogim, osim svega što su dragovoljno prilagali.	6 and al their neighbours gave them every kind of help: silver, gold, equipment, riding beasts andvaluable presents, in addition to their voluntary offerings.
7 Kralj Kir iznese posuđe Jahvina doma koje Nabukodonozor bijaše odnio iz Jeruzalema i stavio u hram svoga boga.	7 Furthermore, King Cyrus handed over the articles belonging to the Temple of Yahweh whichNebuchadnezzar had carried away from Jerusalem and put in the temple of his god.
8 Kir, kralj perzijski, uruči ga Mitredatu, rizničaru, koji ga izbroji judejskom knezu Šešbasaru.	8 Cyrus king of Persia handed them over to Mithredath the treasurer who checked them out toSheshbazzar the prince of Judah.
9 Evo njegova popisa. Zlatnih zdjela: trideset; srebrnih zdjela: tisuću i dvadeset devet;	9 The inventory was as fol ows: thirty gold dishes; one thousand silver dishes, twenty-nine repaired;
10 zlatnih čaša: trideset; srebrnih čaša: četiri stotine i deset; ostalog posuđa: tisuću.	10 thirty gold bowls; a thousand silver bowls, four hundred and ten damaged; one thousand other articles.
11 Svega zlatnog i srebrnog posuđa: pet tisuća i četiri stotine. Sve je to odnio Šešbasar kada se sužnji vraćahu iz Babilona u Jeruzalem.	11 In al , five thousand four hundred articles of gold and silver. Sheshbazzar took al these with him whenhe led the exiles back from Babylon to Jerusalem.
