1 I will not rouse him, as the cruel would do, for who is able to withstand my countenance?	1 Zalud je nadu u njega gojiti, na pogled njegov čovjek već pogiba.
2 Who has given to me beforehand, so that I should repay him? All things that are under heaven are mine.	2 Junaka nema da njega razdraži, tko će mu se u lice suprotstavit’?
3 I will not spare him, nor his powerful words and counterfeit attempts at supplication.	3 Tko se sukobi s njim i živ ostade? Pod nebesima tog čovjeka nema!
4 Who can reveal the beauty of his garment? And who can enter the middle of his mouth?	4 Prešutjet neću njegove udove, ni silnu snagu, ni ljepotu stasa.
5 Who can open the doors of his face? I gave fear to the circle of his teeth.	5 Tko mu smije razodjenut’ odjeću, tko li kroz dvostruk prodrijeti mu oklop?
6 His body is like shields fused together, like dense scales pressed over one another.	6 Tko će mu ralje rastvorit’ dvokrilne kad strah vlada oko zubi njegovih?
7 One is joined to another, and not even air can pass between them.	7 Hrbat mu je od ljuskavih štitova, zapečaćenih pečatom kamenim.
8 They adhere to one another, and they hold themselves in place and will not be separated.	8 Jedni uz druge tako se sljubiše da među njima dah ne bi prošao.
9 His sneezing has the brilliance of fire, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.	9 Tako su čvrsto slijepljeni zajedno: priljubljeni, razdvojit’ se ne mogu.
10 Lamps proceed from his mouth, like torches of fire burning brightly.	10 Kad kihne, svjetlost iz njega zapršti, poput zorinih vjeđa oči su mu.
11 Smoke passes out of his nostrils, like a pot that is heated and boiling.	11 Zublje plamsaju iz njegovih ralja, iskre ognjene iz njih se prosiplju.
12 His breath causes coal to burn, and a flame comes forth from his mouth.	12 Iz nozdrva mu sukljaju dimovi kao iz kotla što kipi na vatri.
13 Strength dwells in his neck, and destitution goes before his presence.	13 Dah bi njegov zapalio ugljevlje, jer mu iz ralja plamenovi suču.
14 The parts of his body work in harmony together. He will send lightning bolts against him, and they will not be carried to another place.	14 U šiji leži sva snaga njegova, a ispred njega užas se prostire.
15 His heart will be as hard as a stone and as dense as a blacksmith’s anvil.	15 Kad se ispravi, zastrepe valovi i prema morskoj uzmiču pučini.
16 When he will be raised up, the angels will be afraid, and, because they are terrified, they will purify themselves.	16 Poput pećine srce mu je tvrdo, poput mlinskoga kamena otporno.
17 When a sword catches up with him, it will not be able to settle in, nor a spear, nor a breastplate.	17 Pregibi tusta mesa srasli su mu, čvrsti su kao da su saliveni.
18 For he will consider iron as if it were chaff, and brass as if it were rotten wood.	18 Zgodi li ga mač, od njeg se odbije, tako i koplje, sulica i strijela.
19 The archer will not cause him to flee; the stones of the sling have been turned into stubble for him.	19 Poput slame je za njega željezo, mjed je k’o drvo iscrvotočeno.
20 He will treat the hammer as if it were stubble, and he will ridicule those who brandish the spear.	20 On ne uzmiče od strelice s lûka, stijenje iz praćke na nj k’o pljeva pada.
21 The beams of the sun will be under him, and he will dispense gold to them as if it were clay.	21 K’o slamčica je toljaga za njega, koplju se smije kad zazviždi nad njim.
22 He will make the depths of the sea boil like a pot, and he will set it to bubble just as ointments do.	22 Crepovlje oštro ima na trbuhu i blato njime ore k’o drljačom.
23 A path will shine after him; he will esteem the abyss as if it were weakening with age.	23 Pod njim vrtlog sav k’o lonac uskipi, uspjeni more k’o pomast u kotlu.
24 There is no power on the earth that is being compared to him, who has been made so that he fears no one.	24 Za sobom svijetlu ostavlja on brazdu, regbi, bijelo runo bezdan prekriva.
25 He sees every prominent thing; he is king over all the sons of arrogance.	25 Ništa slično na zemlji ne postoji i niti je tko tako neustrašiv.
	26 I na najviše on s visoka gleda, kralj je svakome, i najponosnijim.«
