1 И взял Авраам еще жену, именем Хеттуру.	1 Abraham married another wife whose name was Keturah;
2 Она родила ему Зимрана, Иокшана, Медана, Мадиана, Ишбака и Шуаха.	2 and she bore him Zimram, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak and Shuah.
3 Иокшан родил Шеву и Дедана. Сыны Дедана были: Ашурим, Летушим и Леюмим.	3 Jokshan was the father of Sheba and Dedan, and the descendants of Dedan were the Asshurites, theLetushim and the Leummim.
4 Сыны Мадиана: Ефа, Ефер, Ханох, Авида и Елдага. Все сии сыны Хеттуры.	4 The descendants of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida and Eldaah. Al these were sons ofKeturah.
5 И отдал Авраам все, что было у него, Исааку,	5 Abraham left al his possessions to Isaac.
6 а сынам наложниц, которые были у Авраама, дал Авраам подарки и отослал их от Исаака, сына своего, еще при жизни своей, на восток, в землю восточную.	6 To the sons of his concubines Abraham made grants during his lifetime, sending them away from hisson Isaac eastward, to the Land of the East.
7 Дней жизни Авраамовой, которые он прожил, было сто семьдесят пять лет;	7 The number of years Abraham lived was a hundred and seventy-five.
8 и скончался Авраам, и умер в старости доброй, престарелый и насыщенный [жизнью], и приложился к народу своему.	8 When Abraham had breathed his last, dying at a happy ripe age, old and ful of years, he wasgathered to his people.
9 И погребли его Исаак и Измаил, сыновья его, в пещере Махпеле, на поле Ефрона, сына Цохара, Хеттеянина, которое против Мамре,	9 His sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah facing Mamre, in the field of Ephronthe Hittite son of Zohar.
10 на поле, которые Авраам приобрел от сынов Хетовых. Там погребены Авраам и Сарра, жена его.	10 This was the field that Abraham had bought from the Hittites, and Abraham and his wife Sarah wereburied there.
11 По смерти Авраама Бог благословил Исаака, сына его. Исаак жил при Беэр-лахай-рои.	11 After Abraham's death, God blessed his son Isaac. Isaac settled near the wel of Lahai Roi.
12 Вот родословие Измаила, сына Авраамова, которого родила Аврааму Агарь Египтянка, служанка Саррина;	12 These are the descendants of Ishmael son of Abraham by Hagar, Sarah's Egyptian slave-girl.
13 и вот имена сынов Измаиловых, имена их по родословию их: первенец Измаилов Наваиоф, [за ним] Кедар, Адбеел, Мивсам,	13 These are the names of the sons of Ishmael by name and line: Ishmael's first-born was Nebaioth;then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,
14 Мишма, Дума, Масса,	14 Mishma, Dumah, Massa,
15 Хадад, Фема, Иетур, Нафиш и Кедма.	15 Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish and Kedemah.
16 Сии суть сыны Измаиловы, и сии имена их, в селениях их, в кочевьях их. [Это] двенадцать князей племен их.	16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, according to their settlements andencampments, twelve chiefs of as many tribes.
17 Лет же жизни Измаиловой было сто тридцать семь лет; и скончался он, и умер, и приложился к народу своему.	17 The number of years Ishmael lived was one hundred and thirty-seven. When he breathed his lastand died, he was gathered to his people.
18 Они жили от Хавилы до Сура, что пред Египтом, как идешь к Ассирии. Они поселились пред лицем всех братьев своих.	18 He lived in the territory stretching from Havilah-by-Shur just outside Egypt on the way to Assyria, andhe held his own against all his kinsmen.
19 Вот родословие Исаака, сына Авраамова. Авраам родил Исаака.	19 This is the story of Isaac son of Abraham. Abraham fathered Isaac.
20 Исаак был сорока лет, когда он взял себе в жену Ревекку, дочь Вафуила Арамеянина из Месопотамии, сестру Лавана Арамеянина.	20 Isaac was forty years old when he married Rebekah the daughter of Bethuel the Aramaean ofPaddan-Aram, and sister of Laban the Aramaean.
21 И молился Исаак Господу о жене своей, потому что она была неплодна; и Господь услышал его, и зачала Ревекка, жена его.	21 Isaac prayed to Yahweh on behalf of his wife, for she was barren. Yahweh heard his prayer, and hiswife Rebekah conceived.
22 Сыновья в утробе ее стали биться, и она сказала: если так будет, то для чего мне это? И пошла вопросить Господа.	22 But the children inside her struggled so much that she said, 'If this is the way of it, why go on living?'So she went to consult Yahweh,
23 Господь сказал ей: два племени во чреве твоем, и два различных народа произойдут из утробы твоей; один народ сделается сильнее другого, и больший будет служить меньшему.	23 and Yahweh said to her: There are two nations in your womb, your issue wil be two rival peoples.One nation wil have the mastery of the other, and the elder wil serve the younger.
24 И настало время родить ей: и вот близнецы в утробе ее.	24 When the time came for her confinement, there were indeed twins in her womb.
25 Первый вышел красный, весь, как кожа, косматый; и нарекли ему имя Исав.	25 The first to be born was red, altogether like a hairy cloak; so they named him Esau.
26 Потом вышел брат его, держась рукою своею за пяту Исава; и наречено ему имя Иаков. Исаак же был шестидесяти лет, когда они родились.	26 Then his brother was born, with his hand grasping Esau's heel; so they named him Jacob. Isaac wassixty years old at the time of their birth.
27 Дети выросли, и стал Исав человеком искусным в звероловстве, человеком полей; а Иаков человеком кротким, живущим в шатрах.	27 When the boys grew up Esau became a skil ed hunter, a man of the open country. Jacob on theother hand was a quiet man, staying at home among the tents.
28 Исаак любил Исава, потому что дичь его была по вкусу его, а Ревекка любила Иакова.	28 Isaac preferred Esau, for he had a taste for wild game; but Rebekah preferred Jacob.
29 И сварил Иаков кушанье; а Исав пришел с поля усталый.	29 Once, when Jacob was cooking a stew, Esau returned from the countryside exhausted.
30 И сказал Исав Иакову: дай мне поесть красного, красного этого, ибо я устал. От сего дано ему прозвание: Едом.	30 Esau said to Jacob, 'Give me a mouthful of that red stuff there; I am exhausted' -- hence the namegiven to him, Edom.
31 Но Иаков сказал: продай мне теперь же свое первородство.	31 Jacob said, 'First, give me your birthright in exchange.'
32 Исав сказал: вот, я умираю, что мне в этом первородстве?	32 Esau said, 'Here I am, at death's door; what use is a birthright to me?'
33 Иаков сказал: поклянись мне теперь же. Он поклялся ему, и продал первородство свое Иакову.	33 Then Jacob said, 'First give me your oath'; he gave him his oath and sold his birthright to Jacob.
34 И дал Иаков Исаву хлеба и кушанья из чечевицы; и он ел и пил, и встал и пошел; и пренебрег Исав первородство.	34 Then Jacob gave him some bread and lentil stew; he ate, drank, got up and went away. That was allEsau cared about his birthright.
