Ezechiele 15

BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 E disse Iddio a me:	1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:
2 O figliuolo d' uomo, che si farà allo legno della vite di tutti li legni de' boschi, i quali sono tra li legni delle selve?	2 Son of man, what makes the wood of the vine better than any other wood? That branch among the trees of the forest!
3 Or torrassi alcuno legno di lei (cioè della selva) per adoperarlo? O farassene cavigliuolo, acciò che vi si appicchi ogni vaso?	3 Can you use its wood to make anything worthwhile? Can you make even a peg from it, to hang on it any kind of vessel?
4 Ecco ch' è dato per esca al fuoco; lo fuoco hae arso cadauna parte di lui, e tornato è la metà in favilla: or sarà ello da adoperare utile?	4 If you throw it on the fire as fuel and the fire devours both ends and even the middle is scorched, is it still good for anything?
5 Ancora quando era integro, non era buono a opera alcuna; quanto maggiormente quando lo fuoco l'hae divorato? E peroe non se ne puote fare niuna opera.	5 Why, even when it was whole it was good for nothing; how much less, when the fire has devoured and scorched it, can it be used for anything!
6 Però questo dice lo Signore Iddio: come lo legno della vite tra le legne della selva, lo quale io diedi al fuoco a divorare, così darò li abitatori di Ierusalem.	6 Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD: Like the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have destined as fuel for the fire, do I make the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
7 E porrò la mia faccia in loro; loro usciranno dal fuoco, e lo fuoco li consumerà; e saprete ch' io sono Iddio, quando io averò posto la mia faccia in loro.	7 I will set my face against them; they have escaped from the fire, but the fire shall devour them. Thus you shall know that I am the LORD, when I turn my face against them.
8 E farò la terra isviata e desolata, però che sono stati prevaricatori, dice lo Signore Iddio (onnipotente).	8 I will make the land a waste, because they have broken faith, says the Lord GOD.
