1 Dice Iddio ora questo a' figliuoli di Ammon: or non sono i figliuoli d' Israel? e non ha egli erede? Per che dunque possiede Melcon, Gad, e lo suo populo abitò nelle terre di lui?	1 Concerning the Ammonites, thus saith the LORD; Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?
2 E però ecco li (tuoi) dì vegnono (in te), dice Iddio, e farò udire sopra Rabbat, ch' è de' figliuoli di Ammon, sboglientamento di battaglia; e sarà distrutta nello tumulto, e le sue figliuole saranno accese col fuoco, e possederà Israel li suoi possessori, dice Iddio.	2 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs, saith the LORD.
3 O Esebon, urla; però che Ai è guastata; e voi, figliuole di Rabbat (gridate) accignetevi li cilicii; e circuite per le siepi, però che Melcom sarà transportato, e li sacerdoti e li principi insieme.	3 Howl, O Heshbon, for Ai is spoiled: cry, ye daughters of Rabbah, gird you with sackcloth; lament, and run to and fro by the hedges; for their king shall go into captivity, and his priests and his princes together.
4 Per che ti glorii nelle valli? Discesa è la tua valle, figliuola dilicata, la quale ti confidavi nelli tuoi tesori, e dicevi: chi verrà a me?	4 Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleys, thy flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come unto me?
5 Ecco, io adducerò sopra te spaventamento, dice Iddio Signore delli esèrciti (Iddio d' Israel) da tutti quelli che sono nel circuito tuo; sarete ciascuni dispersi dal vostro conspetto, e non sarà chi raduni li fuggenti.	5 Behold, I will bring a fear upon thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts, from all those that be about thee; and ye shall be driven out every man right forth; and none shall gather up him that wandereth.
6 E dopo questo farò ritornare (quelli fuggirono) li prigioni de' figliuoli di Ammon, dice Iddio.	6 And afterward I will bring again the captivity of the children of Ammon, saith the LORD.
7 Ad Idumea questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti: or non è più sapienza in Teman? Lo consiglio è perito da' figliuoli, e la loro sapienza sì è disutile.	7 Concerning Edom, thus saith the LORD of hosts; Is wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?
8 Fuggite e rivolgete le reni, discendete nel divoramento, voi abitatori di Dedan; però che la perdizione d' Esaù addussi sopra lui, lo tempo della sua visitazione.	8 Flee ye, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I will visit him.
9 Se li vendemmiatori fossono venuti sopra te, [non] averiano lasciato il racemo; se li ladroni fussono (scoperti) venuti di notte, averiano pigliato quello che fosse stato a loro sufficiente.	9 If grapegatherers come to thee, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? if thieves by night, they will destroy till they have enough.
10 Ma io hoe rivelato Esaù e li suoi secreti, e non si poterà celare; lo suo seme è guastato, e li suoi fratelli e li suoi vicini; ed egli non sarà.	10 But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not.
11 Abbandona li tuoi pupilli, ed io gli farò vivere; e le tue vedove speraranno in me.	11 Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in me.
12 Però che questo dice Iddio: ecco che a quelli, a' quali non era giudicio che bevessono lo calice, bevendo sì lo beranno; e tu sarai abbandonato sì come innocente? tu non sarai innocente, ma bevendo berai.	12 For thus saith the LORD; Behold, they whose judgment was not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and art thou he that shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink of it.
13 Però ch' io giurai per me stesso, dice Iddio, che in solitudine e in obbrobrio e in deserto e in maledizione sarà Bosra; e tutte le [sue] cittadi saranno in solitudine sempiterna.	13 For I have sworn by myself, saith the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.
14 Io udi' udimento da Dio, e sono mandato per messo delle genti (alla battaglia); congregatevi, e venite contra a lei, e leviamoci a battaglia.	14 I have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent unto the heathen, saying, Gather ye together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.
15 Ecco che t'ho dato si come fanciullo piccolo tra le genti, e disprezzato tra li uomini.	15 For, lo, I will make thee small among the heathen, and despised among men.
16 La tua arroganza ha ingannato te, e la superbia del tuo cuore, il quale abiti nelle caverne della pietra, e isfòrziti di pigliare l'altezza dello colle; quando averai esaltato, quasi come l'aquila, lo tuo nido, io ti trarrò fuora indi, dice Iddio.	16 Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD.
17 E Idumea sarà deserta; e ogni uomo che passerà, si maraviglierà, e sibilerà sopra tutte le sue piaghe.	17 Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.
18 Sì come è rivolta di sotto Sodoma e Gomorra e lo suo vicino, dice Iddio, nullo uomo abiterà ivi, e non vi verrà (forestiere) figliuolo d' uomo.	18 As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it.
19 Ecco che salirà a modo di leone della superbia dal Giordano (cioè di quello fiume) ad una bellezza robusta; però che subitamente io lo farò correre a quella; e chi sarà quello eletto, ch' io preporrò a lei? chi è colui il quale sia simile a me? e chi mi sostegnerà? e chi è questo pastore, il quale possa resistere al mio volto?	19 Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan against the habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?
20 Però udite il consiglio del Signore, il quale egli cominciò di Edom; e le sue cogitazioni, le quali ha pensato delli abitatori di Teman: se non cacceranno [loro] i piccioli della greggia, se non averanno dissipato con loro lo loro abitacolo.	20 Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.
21 Dalla voce della loro rovina è commossa la terra; lo romore è udito nel mare rosso della sua voce.	21 The earth is moved at the noise of their fall, at the cry the noise thereof was heard in the Red sea.
22 Ecco che salirà (sarà) a modo d'aquila, e volerà, e spanderà le sue ale sopra Bosran (cioè quella terra); e sarà lo cuore delli uomini forti di Idumea in quello dì, come lo cuore della femina che partorisce.	22 Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread his wings over Bozrah: and at that day shall the heart of the mighty men of Edom be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
23 (Or tocca a dire) a Damasco: Confusa è Emat e Arfad; però che udirono udimento pessimo, (molto) turbaronsi nel mare; e non poteo posare per la sollicitudine.	23 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.
24 E Damasco è dissoluto, ed èssi rivolto in fuga; lo tremore lo prese, e li dolori e l'angoscia l'hanno tenuta, quasi come se partorisse.	24 Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.
25 Come lasciarono la città, terra laudabile di letizia!	25 How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!
26 Però cadranno li suoi giovani nelle sue piazze; e tutti li uomini di battaglia taceranno in quello dì, dice Iddio Signore delli esèrciti.	26 Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD of hosts.
27 E accenderò lo fuoco nel muro di Damasco, e divorerà le mura di Benadad.	27 And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Ben-hadad.
28 (Dice Iddio) a Cedar, e alli reami di Asor, i quali percosse Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia, questo dice lo Signore: levatevi suso, e salite a Cedar, e guastate li figliuoli d' oriente.	28 Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon shall smite, thus saith the LORD; Arise ye, go up to Kedar, and spoil the men of the east.
29 Piglieranno i tabernacoli loro e le loro greggie; e le loro pelli e li loro vasi e i loro cammelli torranno a sè; e chiameranno sopra loro paura nel (suo) circuito.	29 Their tents and their flocks shall they take away: they shall take to themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels; and they shall cry unto them, Fear is on every side.
30 Fuggite, e andate fortemente, e sedete in luoghi di caverne, voi che abitate Asor, dice Iddio; perchè Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia, ha fatto consiglio contra di voi, e ha pensato molte cogitazioni adverso voi.	30 Flee, get you far off, dwell deep, O ye inhabitants of Hazor, saith the LORD; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath taken counsel against you, and hath conceived a purpose against you.
31 Levatevi, e andate ad alcuna generazione, quieta, la quale abita sicuramente, dice Iddio; non [hanno] li usci e li loro chiavistelli; soli àbitano ivi.	31 Arise, get you up unto the wealthy nation, that dwelleth without care, saith the LORD, which have neither gates nor bars, which dwell alone.
32 E saranno i loro cammelli in rubamento, e la moltitudine delli giumenti sarà fatta preda; e dispergerolli ad ogni vento, quelli che sono tonduti nelli capelli; e da ogni loro confine addurrò interito. sopra loro, dice Iddio.	32 And their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil: and I will scatter into all winds them that are in the utmost corners; and I will bring their calamity from all sides thereof, saith the LORD.
33 E Asor sarà abitazione di draghi, e sarà deserta in eterno; nullo uomo starà ivi, e non vi starà (forestiere) figliuolo d' uomo.	33 And Hazor shall be a dwelling for dragons, and a desolation for ever: there shall no man abide there, nor any son of man dwell in it.
34 E disse Iddio a Ieremia profeta contra ad Elam nel principio dello regno di Sedecia, re di Giuda :	34 The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,
35 Questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti (Iddio d' Israel): ecco, io spezzerò l'arco d' Elam, e piglierò la loro fortezza.	35 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.
36 E inducerò sopra Elam quattro venti delle quattro plaghe del cielo, e ventolerolli in ogni vento; e non sarà gente, alla quale non pervegnano de' fuggitivi d'Elam.	36 And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come.
37 E farò avere paura ad Elam inanzi a' suoi inimici, e nel conspetto di quelli che domandano l'anime loro; e adducerò sopra loro lo male, e l' ira del mio furore, dice Iddio; e manderò dopo loro lo coltello, infino a tanto ch' io li consumi.	37 For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them even my fierce anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:
38 E porrò la mia sedia in Elam, e ucciderò indi li re e li principi, dice Iddio.	38 And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence the king and the princes, saith the LORD.
39 Ma farò tornare nelli di novissimi li prigioni di Elam, dice Iddio.	39 But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the LORD.
