Levitico 24

BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Parlò Iddio a Moisè, e disse:	1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
2 Comanda ai figliuoli d'Israel, che ti rechino l'olio dell' uliva purissimo e bello per mettere nelle lampade, che istanno di fuori dal velo della testimonianza nel tabernacolo del patto.	2 'Order the Israelites to bring you crushed-olive oil for the lamp-stand, and keep a flame burning therecontinual y.
3 E Aaron sì le porrà nel cospetto del Signore; e questo farete dal vespro insino alla mattina, e saravvi legge sempiternale.	3 Aaron wil keep it permanently in trim from evening to morning, outside the curtain of the Testimony inthe Tent of Meeting, before Yahweh. This is a perpetual decree for your descendants:
4 Si le porrà suso nel candeliere mondissimo (sempre) nel cospetto del Signore.	4 Aaron wil keep the lamps permanently trimmed on the pure lamp-stand before Yahweh.
5 Piglierai della farina, e cuocerai dessa, e fara'ne dodici pani, li quali ciascuno sarà di due decime (di farina).	5 'You will take wheaten flour and with it bake twelve loaves, each of two-tenths of an ephah.
6 Dei quali sei ne porrai sopra una mensa mondissima da uno canto, e sei dall'altro (canto della detta mensa) dinnanzi al Signore.	6 You will then place them in two rows of six on the pure table before Yahweh
7 E porrai sopra loro incenso lucidissimo, acciò che sia pane in memoria della oblazione del Signore.	7 and put pure incense on each row, to make it food offered as a memorial, food burnt for Yahweh.
8 E muteransi per cadauno sabbato dinnanzi al Signore, ricevuti che saranno dai figliuoli d'Israel per patto sempiterno.	8 Every Sabbath they wil be arranged before Yahweh. The Israelites wil provide them as a permanentcovenant.
9 E saranno (questi pani) di Aaron e de' suoi figliuoli, acciò che li mangin nel luogo santo; però che gli è santo de' santi delli sacrifici del Signore in perpetuo.	9 They wil belong to Aaron and his sons, who wil eat them inside the holy place since, for him, they arean especial y holy part of the food burnt for Yahweh. This is a permanent law.'
10 Uno figliuolo d'una donna d'Israel, lo quale, aveva avuto d'uno uomo d'Egitto fra i figliuoli d'Israel, azzuffossi nelli alloggiamenti con uno uomo israelita.	10 There was a man whose mother was an Israelite woman and whose father was an Egyptian. Hecame out of his house and, in the camp, surrounded by the Israelites, he began to quarrel with a man who wasan Israelite.
11 E avendo biastemato Iddio maledicendolo, fue menato a Moisè. E la madre sua avea nome Salumit, figliuola di Dabri, della schiatta di Dan.	11 Now the son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name and cursed it. He was then taken toMoses (his mother's name was Shelomith daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan).
12 E miserlo in prigione, insino a tanto che sapessero quello che Iddio volesse (che ne fosse fatto).	12 He was then put under guard until Yahweh's will should be made clear to them.
13 E parlò Iddio a Moise;	13 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
14 e dissegli: mena cotesto uomo fuori degli al loggiamenti, e chiunque l'udì biastemare sì gli porrà la mano in capo; e tutto il popolo il lapidi.	14 'Take the man who pronounced the curse outside the camp. Al those who heard him must then laytheir hands on his head, and the whole community must then stone him.
15 E al popolo di queste parole: l'uomo che maledicerà lo suo Iddio, patirà la pena.	15 Then say to the Israelites: "Anyone who curses his God will bear the consequences of his sin,
16 E chi biastemerà lo nome di Dio, sia morto; e tutto il popolo il lapidi, o cittadino o forestiere che sia. Chi biastemerà lo nome di Dio, sia morto.	16 and anyone who blasphemes the name of Yahweh wil be put to death; the whole community wilstone him; be he alien or native-born, if he blasphemes the Name, he wil be put to death.
17 E chi percuoterà l'uomo sì che muoia, sia morto.	17 "Anyone who strikes down any other human being will be put to death.
18 E chi ucciderà la bestia d'altrui, renderanne una così fatta.	18 "Anyone who strikes down an animal will make restitution for it: a life for a life.
19 E chi farà macula niuna al suo prossimo, quello medesimo sia fatto a lui.	19 "Anyone who injures a neighbour shall receive the same in return,
20 Rottura per rottura. E se lo dente, lo dente; e se l'occhio, l'occhio gli sia tratto; (e questo giudicio sarà fra voi,) cioè che in quello modo che tu offendi altrui, sia offeso tu.	20 broken limb for broken limb, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. As the injury inflicted, so will be the injurysuffered.
21 Chi percuoterà l'animale, restitua uno altro. Chi percuoterà l'uomo, sia punito.	21 Whoever strikes down an animal wil make restitution for it, and whoever strikes down a human beingwil be put to death.
22 Eguale giudicio sarà fra di voi, o sia forestiere o sia cittadino che abbi peccato; e io sono lo vostro Iddio.	22 The sentence you pass wil be the same, whether on native-born or on alien; for I am Yahweh yourGod." '
23 Parlò Moisè ai figliuoli d'Israel; e menarono quello uomo a lapidarlo, secondo che Iddio li comandò.	23 Moses having told the Israelites this, they took the man who had pronounced the curse out of thecamp and stoned him. And so the Israelites carried out Yahweh's order to Moses.
