Levitico 16

1 Parlo Iddio a Moisè, dopo la morte de due figliuoli di Aaron, che morirono quando offerivano lo fuoco d'altrui:	1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they were destroyed for offering strange fire.
2 E comandò a lui, e disse: di' ad Aaron tuo fratello, che non entri ogni tempo nel santuario ch' è infra lo parete dinnanzi al propiziatorio con lo quale si cuopre l'arca, acciò che non muoia; perciò ch' io apparirò in nuvola sopra l'oratorio;	2 And he instructed him, saying: Speak to your brother Aaron, so that he may not, at any time, enter into the Sanctuary, which is within the veil, before the propitiatory by which the ark is covered, so that he may not die, (for I will appear in a cloud above the oracle)
3 salvo se non fesse questo innanzi: offerisca uno vitello per lo peccato, e uno montone nello olocausto.	3 unless he will have done these things beforehand. He shall offer a calf for sin, and a ram as a holocaust.
4 Egli si vestirà della tunica di lino, e porrassi le brache di lino per coprir quelle parti; e cingerassi di correggia di lino, e uno panno di lino si porrà in capo; e questi vestiti sono santi, de quali tutti si vestirà, lavato che sarà.	4 He shall be vested with a linen tunic. He shall conceal his nakedness with linen undergarments. He shall be wrapped with a linen belt, and he shall impose a linen headdress on his head. For these are holy vestments. All of these he shall put on, after he has been washed.
5 Da tutta la gente de' figliuoli d'Israel riceverà due becchi per lo peccato, e uno montone allo sacrificio.	5 And he shall receive, from the entire multitude of the sons of Israel, two he-goats for sin, and one ram as a holocaust.
6 Quando avrà offerto lo vitello, e avrà pregato per e lui per la casa sua,	6 And when he has presented the calf, and has prayed for himself and for his own house,
7 farà istare due becchi innanzi a Dio appresso alla porta del tabernacolo della testimonianza,	7 he shall cause the two he-goats to stand in the sight of the Lord at the entrance to the tabernacle of the testimony.
8 mettendo le sorti sopra amendue, una per lo Signore, e l'altra per lo becco che si debba licenziare.	8 And casting lots over them both, one is to be offered to the Lord, and the other is to be the emissary goat.
9 Sopra del quale caderà la sorte per lo Signore, quello offerirà per lo peccato.	9 The one whose lot fell out to be offered to the Lord, he shall offer for sin.
10 Quella che caderà sopra al becco da esser licenziato, quello appresenterà [vivo] dinnanzi al Signore, acciò che lui prieghi sopra di lui, e poi mandilo nel deserto.	10 But the one who is to be the emissary goat shall stand before the Lord, so that he may pour the prayers upon him, and may send him away into the wilderness.
11 Fatte queste cose, offerrà lo vitello; e pregando per sè e per la casa sua, lo sacrificherà.	11 After these things have been duly celebrated, he shall offer the calf, and praying for himself and for his own house, he shall immolate it.
12 E tolto lo turibolo, ed empialo del fuoco dell' altare, e togliendo colla mano lo timiama per incensare, ultra il parete entrerà in SANCTA (SANCTORUM),	12 And taking up the censer, which he has filled from the burning coals of the altar, and drawing up with his hands the aromatic compound for incense, he shall enter within the veil, into the holy place,
13 acciò che poste sopra lo fuoco le cose odorifere, la loro nebula e vapore cuopra (tutto) l'oracolo, lo quale è sopra l'arca della testimonianza, e non muoia.	13 so that when the aromatics are placed upon the fire, its cloud and vapor may cover the oracle, which is above the testimony, and he may not die.
14 E torrà dello sangue del vitello, e col dito sette volte aspargerà (in presenza di Dio) allo propiziatorio dall'oriente.	14 Likewise, he shall take some of the blood of the calf, and sprinkle it with his finger seven times opposite the propitiatory, toward the east.
15 Quando avrà morto lo becco per lo peccato del popolo, tolga lo sangue suo, e portilo dentro allo pariete, là dove si pone quello del vitello, acciò che asperga tutto l'oratorio,	15 And when he has slain the he-goat for the sin of the people, he shall carry its blood within the veil, just as he was instructed to do with the blood of the calf, so that he may sprinkle it away from the area of the oracle,
16 e netti lo santuario dalle immondizie dei figliuoli d'Israel, e dalle loro prevaricazioni e da tutti i suoi peccati. E in questo modo farà nel tabernacolo della testimonianza, ch' è infra loro nel mezzo [delle immondizie) delle abitazioni.	16 and so that he may expiate the Sanctuary from the uncleanness of the sons of Israel, and from their prevarications and every one of their sins. According to this rite, he shall act toward the tabernacle of the testimony, which is fixed among them in the midst of the filth of their habitation.
17 E niuno uomo sia nel tabernacolo, quando lo sacerdote entrerà allo santuario per pregare per sè e per la sua casa e per tutto lo popolo d'Israel, insino a tanto che non esca.	17 Let no man be in the tabernacle when the high priest enters the Sanctuary in order to pray for himself, and for his house, and for the entire assembly of Israel, until he exits.
18 Quand'egli sarà uscito all'altare, che è dinnanzi Dio ori per sè (e per la sua casa); e preso lo sangue del vitello e del becco, verserallo in su l'altare in ogni corno.	18 And when he has exited to the altar which is before the Lord, let him pray for himself, and taking the blood of the calf, and of the he-goat, let him pour it upon its horns all around.
19 E con lo dito aspergerà sette volte, acciò che mondi e santifichi quello dalle immondizie dei figliuoli d'Israel.	19 And sprinkling with his finger seven times, let him expiate and sanctify it from the uncleanness of the sons of Israel.
20 E poi che avranno nettato lo tabernacolo e l'altare e lo santuario, allora offerirà il becco vivo.	20 After he has cleansed the Sanctuary, and the tabernacle, and the altar, then let him offer the living goat.
21 E poste le mani sopra lo capo suo, confessi tutte le iniquitadi de' figliuoli d'Israel, e tutti li mancamenti e li peccati loro; li quali supplicando che vadino sopra lo capo del becco, manderallo nel deserto per uno uomo preparato a questo.	21 And placing both hands upon its head, let him confess all the iniquities of the sons of Israel, and all of their offenses and sins. And calling these down upon its head, he shall send it away, by means of a man prepared to do so, into the desert.
22 E avendo portato le loro iniquitadi via questo becco in la terra solitaria, e sarà lasciato nel deserto,	22 And when the goat has carried all their iniquities into a solitary land, and has been released into the desert,
23 torni Aaron nel tabernacolo della testimonianza; e poste giù le vestimenta, di che pria era vestito quando entrò nel santuario, e lasciate ivi le vesti,	23 Aaron shall return into the tabernacle of the testimony. And placing aside the vestments, which he had worn before when he entered into the Sanctuary, and leaving them there,
24 laverà la carne sua nelli luoghi santi, e ve stirassi le sue vestimenta. E poi che, uscito, avrà offerto lo suo sacrificio e del popolo, pregherà così per lui come per lo popolo.	24 he shall wash his flesh in the holy place, and he shall be clothed in his own garments. And departing afterwards, he shall present his own holocaust and that of the people: he shall pray as much for himself as for the people.
25 E lo grasso, che è stato offerto per lo peccato, sarà abbruciato sopra l'altare.	25 And the fat which is offered for sins, he shall burn upon the altar.
26 E colui che lascerà lo becco andare via, laverà le sue vestimenta e lo corpo coll'acqua, e così entrerà nei castelli.	26 Yet truly, he who has sent away the emissary goat shall wash his clothes and his body with water, and so he shall enter into the camp.
27 Lo vitello e lo becco, che furono sacrificati per lo peccato, e delli quali lo sangue fu posto nel santuario per finire la purgazione, porterannogli fuori del (santuario e del) castello; e arderannogli col fuoco, così li peli, come la carne e le feci.	27 But the calf and the he-goat, which were immolated for sin, and whose blood was brought into the Sanctuary to complete the expiation, these shall be carried outside the camp and be burned with fire: as with their skins, so also with their flesh and dung.
28 E chi li arderà, laverà le sue vestimenta e la sua carne coll'acqua, e così entrerà nel castello.	28 And whoever will have burned them shall wash his clothes and flesh with water, and so he shall enter into the camp.
29 E questa vi sarà legge in sempiterno: nel settimo mese, a dì decimo del mese, affligerete le vostre anime, e non farete niuna cosa (senza necessitade), così voi e così lo forestiere che fosse infra voi.	29 And this shall be to you an everlasting ordinance. In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your souls, and you shall do no work, neither someone native born, nor the newcomer who sojourns among you.
30 In questo die sarà la vostra purgazione e mondazione di tutti i vostri peccati; e in presenza di Dio sarete netti;	30 On this day, there shall be atonement for you, and also a cleansing from all your sins. You shall be cleansed in the sight of the Lord.
31 però ch' egli è lo sabbato del riposo, e affligerete le vostre anime in religione perpetua.	31 For it is a Sabbath of rest, and you shall afflict your souls as a perpetual observance.
32 E purgherà lo sacerdote, lo quale sarà unto, e dello quale le mani sono consecrate, acciò che faccia l'officio per suo padre: vestasi una stola di lino e le vesti sante;	32 And the priest who has been anointed, and whose hands have been consecrated to exercise the priesthood in the place of his father, shall make atonement. And he shall be clothed with the linen robe and the holy vestments.
33 e purgherà lo santuario e lo tabernacolo della testimonianza e l'altare e li sacerdoti e tutto il popolo.	33 And he shall expiate the Sanctuary and the tabernacle of the testimony and the altar, likewise the priest and all the people.
34 E saravvi legge in sempiterno di pregare per li figliuoli d'Israel e per tutti li loro peccati, una volta l'anno. E fece Moisè come Iddio gli comandò.	34 And this shall be to you a perpetual law, that you pray for the sons of Israel, and for all their sins once a year. Therefore, he did just as the Lord had instructed Moses.
