BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Miserere di noi, o Iddio di tutti, e guarda a noi, e mostraci la luce delle tue misericordie.	1 Take pity on us, Master, Lord of the universe, look at us, spread fear of yourself throughout al othernations.
2 E manda lo tuo timore sopra le genti che non ti cercano, acciò ch' elle conoscano che non è Iddio se non tu, sì ch' elle narrino le tue maraviglie.	2 Raise your hand against the foreign nations and let them see your might.
3 Lieva la mano tua sopra le strane genti, sì che loro vegghino la potenza tua;	3 As, in their sight, you have proved yourself holy to us, so now, in our sight, prove yourself great to them.
4 e sì come nel conspetto loro tu se' santificato in noi, così nel conspetto nostro sii tu magnificato in loro;	4 Let them acknowledge you, just as we have acknowledged that there is no God but you, Lord.
5 acciò ch' elli ti conoscano, sì come ti conosciamo noi, però che non è Iddio se non tu, o Signore.	5 Send new portents, do fresh wonders, win glory for your hand and your right arm.
6 Rinnova li segni, e muta li miracoli.	6 Rouse your fury, pour out your rage, destroy the opponent, annihilate the enemy.
7 Glorifica la mano tua, e lo tuo destro braccio.	7 Hasten the day, remember the oath, and let people tell of your mighty deeds.
8 Isdormenta il furore, e spandi l'ira.	8 Let fiery wrath swal ow up the survivor, and destruction overtake those who oppress your people.
9 E togli via l'avversario, e affliggi il nimico.	9 Crush the heads of hostile rulers who say, 'There is no one else but us!'
10 Affretta il tempo, e ricòrdati della fine, sì che parlino le tue maraviglie.	10 Gather together all the tribes of Jacob, restore them their heritage as at the beginning.
11 Nell' ira della fiamma sia divorato colui che si salva; e coloro che fanno malvagio il popolo tuo, ritrovino perdizione (eterna).	11 Take pity, Lord, on the people cal ed by your name, on Israel whom you have made your first-born.
12 Attrita il capo de' prìncipi delli nimici, che dicono: non è altro se non noi.	12 Have compassion on your holy city, on Jerusalem, the place where you rest.
13 Raduna tutte le tribù di Iacob, e conoscano che non è Iddio se non tu, acciò che loro narrino le tue grandissime cose; e fara'li eredi, sì come al principio (promettesti).	13 Fil Zion with your praises and your sanctuary with your glory.
14 Miserere del popolo tuo, sopra il quale è invocato il nome tuo; e miserere d' Israel, lo quale facesti eguale al tuo primogenito.	14 Vindicate those whom you created first, fulfil what has been prophesied in your name.
15 Miserere di Ierusalem, cittade della tua santificazione, e cittade del tuo riposo.	15 Give those who wait for you their reward, let your prophets be proved true.
16 Riempi Sion delle innumerabili virtudi tue, e il popolo tuo della gloria tua.	16 Grant, Lord, the prayer of your servants, in the terms of Aaron's blessing on your people,
17 Dà testimonianza [a coloro] che dal principio sono creature tue, e suscita li prieghi, li quali li primi profeti feciono nel nome tuo.	17 so that al the earth's inhabitants may acknowledge that you are the Lord, the everlasting God.
18 Rimerita (Signore) coloro che sostengono te, acciò che li tuoi profeti si trovino fedeli; esaudi le orazioni de' servi tuoi.	18 The stomach takes in all kinds of food, but some foods are better than others.
19 Dà al popolo tuo secondo la benedizione di Aaron, e dirizza noi nella via della giustizia, acciò che coloro che àbitano nella terra sappiano che tu se' Iddio ragguardatore de' secoli.	19 As the palate discerns the flavour of game, so a shrewd listener detects lying words.
20 Il ventre mangerà ogni esca, ed è cibo migliore d'ogni cibo.	20 A perverse character causes depression in others; it needs experience to know how to repay such aone.
21 La mascella tocca il cibo delle bestie salvatiche, e il cuore sensato le parole bugiarde.	21 A woman wil accept any husband, but some daughters are better than others.
22 Il cuore malvagio darae tristizia, e l' uomo savio resisterae a quella.	22 A woman's beauty delights the beholder, a man likes nothing better.
23 La femina riceverae ogni maschio; e alcuna figliuola è meglio che il figliuolo.	23 If her tongue is kind and gentle, her husband is the happiest of men.
24 La bellezza della femina allegra la faccia del marito suo, e sopra ogni concupiscenza dello uomo inducerae desiderio.	24 The man who takes a wife has the makings of a fortune, a helper to match himself, a pil ar of support.
25 S'elli è lingua di moderamento, sì è quella (della buona femina, e) di mitigagione e di misericordia; non è il marito di colei secondo i figliuoli delli uomini.	25 When property has no fence, it is open to plunder, when a man has no wife, he is aimless andquerulous.
26 Chi ha buona moglie, incomincia la sua possessione; quella è il secondo adiutorio, e colonna sì come riposo.	26 Wil anyone trust an armed thief who flits from town to town?
27 Dove non è la siepe, sì fie rubata la possessione; e dove non è la femi?a, gemisce lo infermo.	27 So it is with the man who has no nest, and lodges wherever night overtakes him.
28 Chi crede a colui che non ha nido, e volgesi dovunque oscurarae, sì come uno ladrone saltante di cittade in cittade?
