1 Amate la giustizia, voi che giudicate la terra; sentite del Signore in bontade, e cercate di lui in simplicitate di cuore.	1 Love righteousness, ye that be judges of the earth: think of the Lord with a good (heart,) and in simplicity of heart seek him.
2 Però ch' egli è trovato da coloro che non lo tentano; e lui apparisce a coloro che hanno fede in lui.	2 For he will be found of them that tempt him not; and sheweth himself unto such as do not distrust him.
3 Le perverse cogitazioni dividono da Dio; e la provata virtude castiga li matti.	3 For froward thoughts separate from God: and his power, when it is tried, reproveth the unwise.
4 Però che nella malevola anima non entrerae sapienza, e non abiterae nel corpo soggetto alli peccati.	4 For into a malicious soul wisdom shall not enter; nor dwell in the body that is subject unto sin.
5 Lo spirito santo della disciplina fuggirae l'uomo doppio, e torrassi dallo intelletto che è stolto, e sarà castigato delle sopravegnenti iniquitadi (sue).	5 For the holy spirit of discipline will flee deceit, and remove from thoughts that are without understanding, and will not abide when unrighteousness cometh in.
6 Lo spirito della sapienza è (buono e) benigno; e non libererae il maladetto de' suoi labri; però che Dio è testimonio delle reni di colui, e sì è vero cercatore del suo cuore, e auditore della lingua di colui.	6 For wisdom is a loving spirit; and will not acquit a blasphemer of his words: for God is witness of his reins, and a true beholder of his heart, and a hearer of his tongue.
7 Però che lo spirito (di colui, cioè) del Signore sì riempiè il mondo; e quello che contiene tutte le cose ha scienza delle parole di tutti.	7 For the Spirit of the Lord filleth the world: and that which containeth all things hath knowledge of the voice.
8 E per questo colui che parla cose inique, non si puote celare; e colui che corregge nel giudicio non lo lascerà impunito.	8 Therefore he that speaketh unrighteous things cannot be hid: neither shall vengeance, when it punisheth, pass by him.
9 Nelli pensieri del malvagio sarà fatta domanda; l'udita delli sermoni di colui perviene a Dio, a correzione della iniquitade di colui.	9 For inquisition shall be made into the counsels of the ungodly: and the sound of his words shall come unto the Lord for the manifestation of his wicked deeds.
10 Però che l'orecchio del zelo odé tutte le cose; e lo rumore de' mormoranti non si nasconderae.	10 For the ear of jealousy heareth all things: and the noise of murmurings is not hid.
11 Guardatevi dunque dal mormorare, lo quale nulla giova, e non consentite alla lingua di biasimare, però che la oscura parola non anderae in vôto; la lingua che mente uccide l'anima.	11 Therefore beware of murmuring, which is unprofitable; and refrain your tongue from backbiting: for there is no word so secret, that shall go for nought: and the mouth that belieth slayeth the soul.
12 Non amate la morte in errore di vostra vita, e non acquistate perdimento nell' opere delle mani vostre.	12 Seek not death in the error of your life: and pull not upon yourselves destruction with the works of your hands.
13 Però che Iddio non fece la morte, e non si rallegra nel perdimento de' vivi.	13 For God made not death: neither hath he pleasure in the destruction of the living.
14 Iddio creoe, acciò che fussono, tutte le cose; e fece sanabili le nazioni del mondo; non è in quelle medicamento di esterminio, nè in terra è regno delli infernali.	14 For he created all things, that they might have their being: and the generations of the world were healthful; and there is no poison of destruction in them, nor the kingdom of death upon the earth:
15 La giustizia è perpetua e immortale; (ma la ingiustizia è acquisto di morte).	15 (For righteousness is immortal:)
16 Li malvagi chiamarono la morte colle mani e con le parole; estimando loro essere amica, discorsono, e puosono promissioni a quella; però ch' elli sono degni di morte coloro che sono dalla sua parte.	16 But ungodly men with their works and words called it to them: for when they thought to have it their friend, they consumed to nought, and made a covenant with it, because they are worthy to take part with it.
