Seconda lettera di Pietro (2بطرس) 1

SMITH VAN DYKE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 سمعان بطرس عبد يسوع المسيح ورسوله الى الذين نالوا معنا ايمانا ثمينا مساويا لنا ببر الهنا والمخلص يسوع المسيح.	1 Simon Peter, servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have received a faith as precious as ourown, given through the saving justice of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ.
2 لتكثر لكم النعمة والسلام بمعرفة الله ويسوع ربنا	2 Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of our Lord.
3 كما ان قدرته الالهية قد وهبت لنا كل ما هو للحياة والتقوى بمعرفة الذي دعانا بالمجد والفضيلة	3 By his divine power, he has lavished on us all the things we need for life and for true devotion, throughthe knowledge of him who has called us by his own glory and goodness.
4 اللذين بهما قد وهب لنا المواعيد العظمى والثمينة لكي تصيروا بها شركاء الطبيعة الالهية هاربين من الفساد الذي في العالم بالشهوة.	4 Through these, the greatest and priceless promises have been lavished on us, that through them youshould share the divine nature and escape the corruption rife in the world through disordered passion.
5 ولهذا عينه وانتم باذلون كل اجتهاد قدموا في ايمانكم فضيلة وفي الفضيلة معرفة	5 With this in view, do your utmost to support your faith with goodness, goodness with understanding,
6 وفي المعرفة تعففا وفي التعفف صبرا وفي الصبر تقوى	6 understanding with self-control, self-control with perseverance, perseverance with devotion,
7 وفي التقوى مودة اخوية وفي المودة الاخوية محبة.	7 devotion with kindness to the brothers, and kindness to the brothers with love.
8 لان هذه اذا كانت فيكم وكثرت تصيّركم لا متكاسلين ولا غير مثمرين لمعرفة ربنا يسوع المسيح.	8 The possession and growth of these qualities wil prevent your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ frombeing ineffectual or unproductive.
9 لان الذي ليس عنده هذه هو اعمى قصير البصر قد نسي تطهير خطاياه السالفة.	9 But without them, a person is blind or short-sighted, forgetting how the sins of the past were washedaway.
10 لذلك بالاكثر اجتهدوا ايها الاخوة ان تجعلوا دعوتكم واختياركم ثابتين. لانكم اذا فعلتم ذلك لن تزلّوا ابدا.	10 Instead of this, brothers, never allow your choice or cal ing to waver; then there wil be no danger ofyour stumbling,
11 لانه هكذا يقدم لكم بسعة دخول الى ملكوت ربنا ومخلّصنا يسوع المسيح الابدي	11 for in this way you wil be given the generous gift of entry to the eternal kingdom of our Lord andSaviour Jesus Christ.
12 لذلك لا اهمل ان اذكّركم دائما بهذه الامور وان كنتم عالمين ومثبتين في الحق الحاضر.	12 That is why I wil always go on recal ing the same truths to you, even though you already know themand are firmly fixed in these truths.
13 ولكني احسبه حقا ما دمت في هذا المسكن ان انهضكم بالتذكرة	13 I am sure it is my duty, as long as I am in this tent, to keep stirring you up with reminders,
14 عالما ان خلع مسكني قريب كما اعلن لي ربنا يسوع المسيح ايضا.	14 since I know the time for me to lay aside this tent is coming soon, as our Lord Jesus Christ made clearto me.
15 فأجتهد ايضا ان تكونوا بعد خروجي تتذكرون كل حين بهذه الامور.	15 And I shal take great care that after my own departure you will stil have a means to recal thesethings to mind.
16 لاننا لم نتبع خرافات مصنعة اذ عرّفناكم بقوة ربنا يسوع المسيح ومجيئه بل قد كنا معاينين عظمته.	16 When we told you about the power and the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, we were not slavishlyrepeating cleverly invented myths; no, we had seen his majesty with our own eyes.
17 لانه اخذ من الله الآب كرامة ومجدا اذ اقبل عليه صوت كهذا من المجد الاسنى هذا هو ابني الحبيب الذي انا سررت به.	17 He was honoured and glorified by God the Father, when a voice came to him from the transcendentGlory, This is my Son, the Beloved; he enjoys my favour.
18 ونحن سمعنا هذا الصوت مقبلا من السماء اذ كنا معه في الجبل المقدس.	18 We ourselves heard this voice from heaven, when we were with him on the holy mountain.
19 وعندنا الكلمة النبوية وهي اثبت التي تفعلون حسنا ان انتبهتم اليها كما الى سراج منير في موضع مظلم الى ان ينفجر النهار ويطلع كوكب الصبح في قلوبكم	19 So we have confirmation of the words of the prophets; and you wil be right to pay attention to it as to a lamp for lighting a way through the dark, until the dawn comes and the morning star rises in your minds.
20 عالمين هذا اولا ان كل نبوة الكتاب ليست من تفسير خاص.	20 At the same time, we must recognise that the interpretation of scriptural prophecy is never a matter forthe individual.
21 لانه لم تأت نبوة قط بمشيئة انسان بل تكلم اناس الله القديسون مسوقين من الروح القدس	21 For no prophecy ever came from human initiative. When people spoke for God it was the Holy Spiritthat moved them.
