Apocalipse 1

SAGRADA BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Revelação de Jesus Cristo, que lhe foi confiada por Deus para manifestar aos seus servos o que deve acontecer em breve. Ele, por sua vez, por intermédio de seu anjo, comunicou ao seu servo João,	1 A revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him so that he could tel his servants what is now to takeplace very soon; he sent his angel to make it known to his servant John,
2 o qual atesta, como palavra de Deus, o testemunho de Jesus Cristo e tudo o que viu.	2 and John has borne witness to the Word of God and to the witness of Jesus Christ, everything that hesaw.
3 Feliz o leitor e os ouvintes se observarem as coisas nela escritas, porque o tempo está próximo.	3 Blessed is anyone who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed those who hear them, if theytreasure the content, because the Time is near.
4 João às sete igrejas que estão na Ásia: a vós, graça e paz da parte daquele que é, que era e que vem da parte dos sete Espíritos que estão diante do seu trono	4 John, to the seven churches of Asia: grace and peace to you from him who is, who was, and who is tocome, from the seven spirits who are before his throne,
5 e da parte de Jesus Cristo, testemunha fiel, primogênito dentre os mortos e soberano dos reis da terra. Àquele que nos ama, que nos lavou de nossos pecados no seu sangue	5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the First-born from the dead, the highest of earthly kings. Heloves us and has washed away our sins with his blood,
6 e que fez de nós um reino de sacerdotes para Deus e seu Pai, glória e poder pelos séculos dos séculos! Amém.	6 and made us a Kingdom of Priests to serve his God and Father; to him, then, be glory and power forever and ever. Amen.
7 Ei-lo que vem com as nuvens. Todos os olhos o verão, mesmo aqueles que o traspassaram. Por sua causa, hão de lamentar-se todas as raças da terra. Sim. Amém.	7 Look, he is coming on the clouds; everyone wil see him, even those who pierced him, and all the racesof the earth wil mourn over him. Indeed this shall be so. Amen.
8 Eu sou o Alfa e o Ômega, diz o Senhor Deus, aquele que é, que era e que vem, o Dominador.	8 'I am the Alpha and the Omega,' says the Lord God, who is, who was, and who is to come, theAlmighty.
9 Eu, João, vosso irmão e companheiro nas tribulações, na realeza e na paciência em união com Jesus, estava na ilha de Patmos por causa da palavra de Deus e do testemunho de Jesus.	9 I, John, your brother and partner in hardships, in the kingdom and in perseverance in Jesus, was on theisland of Patmos on account of the Word of God and of witness to Jesus;
10 Num domingo, fui arrebatado em êxtase, e ouvi, por trás de mim, voz forte como de trombeta,	10 it was the Lord's Day and I was in ecstasy, and I heard a loud voice behind me, like the sound of atrumpet, saying,
11 que dizia: O que vês, escreve-o num livro e manda-o às sete igrejas: a Éfeso, a Esmirna, a Pérgamo, a Tiatira, a Sardes, a Filadélfia e a Laodicéia.	11 'Write down in a book al that you see, and send it to the seven churches of Ephesus, Smyrna,Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.'
12 Voltei-me para saber que voz falava comigo. Tendo-me voltado, vi sete candelabros de ouro	12 I turned round to see who was speaking to me, and when I turned I saw seven golden lamp-stands
13 e, no meio dos candelabros, alguém semelhante ao Filho do Homem, vestindo longa túnica até os pés, cingido o peito por um cinto de ouro.	13 and, in the middle of them, one like a Son of man, dressed in a long robe tied at the waist with a belt ofgold.
14 Tinha ele cabeça e cabelos brancos como lã cor de neve. Seus olhos eram como chamas de fogo.	14 His head and his hair were white with the whiteness of wool, like snow, his eyes like a burning flame,
15 Seus pés se pareciam ao bronze fino incandescido na fornalha. Sua voz era como o ruído de muitas águas.	15 his feet like burnished bronze when it has been refined in a furnace, and his voice like the sound of theocean.
16 Segurava na mão direita sete estrelas. De sua boca saía uma espada afiada, de dois gumes. O seu rosto se assemelhava ao sol, quando brilha com toda a força.	16 In his right hand he was holding seven stars, out of his mouth came a sharp sword, double-edged, andhis face was like the sun shining with all its force.
17 Ao vê-lo, caí como morto aos seus pés. Ele, porém, pôs sobre mim sua mão direita e disse: Não temas! Eu sou o Primeiro e o Último, e o que vive.	17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead, but he laid his right hand on me and said, 'Do not beafraid; it is I, the First and the Last; I am the Living One,
18 Pois estive morto, e eis-me de novo vivo pelos séculos dos séculos; tenho as chaves da morte e da região dos mortos.	18 I was dead and look -- I am alive for ever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and of Hades.
19 Escreve, pois, o que viste, tanto as coisas atuais como as futuras.	19 Now write down al that you see of present happenings and what is stil to come.
20 Eis o simbolismo das sete estrelas que viste na minha mão direita e dos sete candelabros de ouro: as sete estrelas são os anjos das sete igrejas, e os sete candelabros, as sete igrejas.	20 The secret of the seven stars you have seen in my right hand, and of the seven golden lamp-stands, isthis: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lamp-stands are the seven churchesthemselves.'
