SAGRADA BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Ai dos maquinadores de iniqüidade, dos que tramam o mal nos seus leitos, e o executam logo ao amanhecer do dia, porque têm o poder na mão!	1 Disaster for those who plot evil, who lie in bed planning mischief! No sooner is it dawn than they do it,since they have the power to do so.
2 Cobiçam as terras e apoderam-se delas, cobiçam as casas e roubam-nas; fazem violência ao homem e à sua família, ao dono e à sua herança.	2 Seizing the fields that they covet, they take over houses as wel , owner and house they seize alike, theman himself as wel as his inheritance.
3 Por isso, eis o que diz o Senhor: medito um mal contra essa raça, do qual não livrareis o vosso pescoço. Não andareis mais com a cabeça erguida, porque será um tempo de calamidades;	3 So Yahweh says this: Look, I am now plotting a disaster for this breed from which you wil not extricateyour necks; you wil not hold your heads up then, for the times wil be disastrous indeed.
4 naquele dia compor-se-ão canções a vosso respeito, e cantar-se-á uma elegia: Estamos perdidos, dir-se-á; fizeram passar a outros parte de meu povo. Como ma arrebataram? Nossas terras foram divididas entre os rebeldes.	4 That day they wil make a satire on you, they wil strike up a dirge and say, 'We have been stripped ofeverything; my people's land has been divided up, no one else can restore it to them, our fields have beenawarded to our despoiler.'
5 Por isso não haverá ninguém que estenda o cordel para ti sobre uma parte na assembléia do Senhor.	5 Because of this, you will have no one to measure out a share in Yahweh's community.
6 Não profetizeis, dizem eles, não se profetize mais assim; isso não afastará o opróbrio.	6 'Do not drivel,' they drivel, 'do not drivel like this! Disgrace will not overtake us!
7 Ó tu, a quem chamam Casa de Jacó, acaso está o Senhor pronto a irritar-se? Será essa sua maneira de agir? Não são minhas palavras cheias de bondade para com quem anda na retidão?	7 'Can the House of Jacob be accursed? Has Yahweh grown short-tempered? Is that his way of going towork? His prophecies can only be favourable for his people Israel!'
8 Mas vós assistis contra o meu povo o inimigo, arrancais o manto de sobre a veste. Aqueles que seguem o seu caminho, vós os tratais como inimigos.	8 But you are the ones who play the enemy to my people. From the inoffensive man you snatch his cloak,on those who feel safe you inflict the damage of war.
9 Expulsais as mulheres de meu povo dos seus estimados lares; tirais para sempre de seus filhos a honra que lhes dei.	9 My people's women you evict from the homes they love, and deprive the children of my glory for ever,
10 De pé! Parti! Porque esta terra não é um lugar de descanso. Por causa de vossa imundície, ser-vos-á infligido um cruel tormento.	10 saying, 'Up and off with you! You can't stay here!' For a worthless thing you exact an extortionatepledge.
11 Se houvesse um homem que atirasse palavras ao vento e espalhasse mentiras: Vou falar-vos de vinho e de cerveja! Tal é o profeta que convém ao meu povo.	11 If a man of the spirit came and invented this lie, 'I prophesy wine and liquor for you,' he would be theprophet for a people like this.
12 Reunirei Jacó todo, recolherei o resto de Israel. Porei tudo junto como ovelhas no aprisco, como um rebanho no seu redil: será uma ruidosa multidão de homens.	12 I shall assemble the whole of Jacob, I shal gather the remnant of Israel, I shal gather them togetherlike sheep in an enclosure. And like a flock within their fold, they will bleat far away from anyone,
13 Irá à sua frente aquele que fez a brecha, lançar-se-ão para passar pela porta e sairão. Seu rei passará diante deles, e o Senhor irá à sua frente.	13 their leader wil break out first, then al break out through the gate and escape, with their king leadingthe way and with Yahweh at their head.
