SAGRADA BIBLIANEW AMERICAN BIBLE
A palavra do Senhor foi-me dirigida nestes termos:1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:
tu, filho do homem, entoa um cântico fúnebre sobre Tiro.2 As for you, son of man, utter a lament over Tyre,
Dize à cidade de Tiro, assentada à borda do mar, comerciando com os povos de inumeráveis ilhas: Eis o que diz o Senhor Javé: Tiro, tu dizias: sou um navio de perfeita beleza.3 and say to Tyre that is situated at the approaches of the sea, that brought the trade of the peoples to many a coastland: Thus says the Lord GOD: Tyre, you said, "I am a ship, perfect in beauty."
No coração do mar está o teu domínio, teus construtores acabaram o teu esplendor.4 In the midst of the sea your builders placed you, perfected your beauty.
Fizeram a tua quilha com cipreste de Senir, tomaram um cedro do Líbano para te fazerem um mastro;5 With cypress from Senir they built for you all of your decks; Cedar from Lebanon they took to make you a mast;
Teus bancos eram de marfim, incrustados em madeira das ilhas de Quitim.6 From the highest oaks of Bashan they made your oars; Your bridge they made of cypress wood from the coasts of Kittim.
Teu velame era de linho do Egito, tecido para te servir de pavilhão: a púrpura violeta e o escarlate das ilhas de Elisa formavam a tua tenda.7 Fine embroidered linen from Egypt became your sail (to serve you as a banner). Purple and scarlet from the coasts of Elishah covered your cabin.
As gentes de Sidon e de Arvad eram teus remadores, os mais hábeis de Sêmer te serviam de pilotos.8 Citizens of Sidon and Arvad served as your oarsmen; Skilled men of Zemer were in you to be your mariners;
The elders and experts of Gebal were in you to caulk your seams. Every ship and sailor on the sea came to you to carry trade.
As gentes da Pérsia, de Lud e de Put serviam em teu exército, suspendiam em ti o escudo e o capacete, davam-te prestígio.10 Persia and Lud and Put were in your army as warriors; shield and helmet they hung upon you, increasing your splendor.
The men of Arvad were all about your walls, and the Gamadites were in your towers; they hung their bucklers all around on your walls, and made perfect your beauty.
Társis negociava contigo toda espécie de riqueza, pagando as tuas mercadorias com prata, ferro, estanho e chumbo.12 Tarshish traded with you, so great was your wealth, exchanging silver, iron, tin, and lead for your wares.
Javã, Tubal e Méchec traficavam contigo e te traziam, à guisa de moedas de câmbio, escravos e objetos de bronze.13 Javan, Tubal, and Meshech were also traders with you, exchanging slaves and articles of bronze for your goods.
As gentes de Togorma pagavam com cavalos de raça, cavalos de sela e mulas.14 From Beth-togarmah horses, steeds, and mules were exchanged for your wares.
As de Dedã traficavam contigo, teu mercado se estendia a inúmeras praias, e te davam em pagamento presas de marfim e de ébano.15 The Rhodanites trafficked with you; many coastlands traded with you; ivory tusks and ebony wood they gave you for payment.
Edom fazia contigo comércio de uma multidão de víveres, e te pagava com rubis, púrpura, bordados, linho fino, corais e rubis.16 Edom traded with you, so many were your products, exchanging garnets, purple, embroidered cloth, fine linen, coral, and rubies for your wares.
Judá e Israel também traficavam contigo e te forneciam trigo de Minit, cera, mel, azeite e bálsamo.17 Judah and the land of Israel trafficked with you, exchanging Minnith wheat, figs, honey, oil, and balm for your goods.
Damasco era teu cliente devido à multidão dos teus produtos e de tuas variadas riquezas, e pagava em vinho de Helbon e lã de Sahar.18 Damascus traded with you, so great was your wealth, exchanging Helbon wine and Zahar wool.
Dã e Javã, de Uzal, te forneciam ferro polido, cássia e cana aromática, como mercadoria de troca.19 Javan exchanged wrought iron, cassia, and aromatic cane from Uzal for your wares.
As gentes de Dedã faziam contigo comércio de mantas para cavalo.20 Dedan traded with you for riding gear.
The trade of Arabia and of all the sheikhs of Kedar belonged to you; they dealt in lambs, rams, and goats.
The merchants of Sheba and Raamah also traded with you, exchanging for your wares the very choicest spices, all kinds of precious stones, and gold.
Harã, Quene, Éden, os mercadores de Sabá, da Assíria e Quelmad faziam negociação contigo,23 Haran, Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur, and Chilmad
de objetos de luxo, mantos de púrpura ou bordados, tecidos de variegadas cores, sólidas cordas trançadas, que serviam de objeto de troca.24 traded with you, marketing with you rich garments, violet mantles, embroidered cloth, varicolored carpets, and firmly woven cords.
Navios de Társis vogavam a serviço de teus negócios. Ficaste cheia, ficaste por demais pesada, no seio dos mares!25 Ships of Tarshish journeyed for you in your merchandising. You were full and heavily laden in the heart of the sea.
O vento do Oriente quebrou-te no coração do mar.26 Through the deep waters your oarsmen brought you home, But the east wind smashed you in the heart of the sea.
Your wealth, your goods, your wares, your sailors, and your crew, (the caulkers of your seams, those who traded for your goods, all your warriors who were in you, and all the great crowd within you) Sank into the heart of the sea on the day of your shipwreck.
Aos gritos dos teus marujos tremeram as plagas;28 Hearing the shouts of your mariners, the shores begin to quake.
então desceram do navio todos os remadores. Os marinheiros, os pilotos do mar ficaram em terra.29 Down from their ships come all who ply the oar; The sailors, all the mariners of the sea, stand on the shore,
Cobrem sua cabeça com poeira e rolam na cinza;30 Making their voice heard on your behalf, shouting bitter cries, Strewing dust on their heads, rolling in the ashes.
For you they shave their heads and put on sackcloth, For you they weep in anguish, with bitter lament.
In their mourning they utter a lament over you; thus they wail over you: Who was ever destroyed like Tyre in the midst of the sea?
Pela multidão das tuas riquezas e de teus víveres tu enriquecias os reis da terra.33 With your goods which you drew from the seas you filled many peoples; With your great wealth and merchandise you enriched the kings of the earth.
Now you are wrecked in the sea, in the watery depths; Your wares and all your crew have gone down with you.
Seus reis estão tomados de terror, sua fronte está abatida.35 All who dwell on the coastlands are aghast over you, Their kings are terrified, their faces convulsed.
Os mercadores dos povos estrangeiros assobiam, ao ver-te; és objeto de terror, aniquilada para sempre!36 The traders among the peoples now hiss at you; You have become a horror, and you shall be no more.
