Isaías 1

1 Profecia de Isaías, filho de Amós, a respeito de Judá e Jerusalém no tempo de Ozias, de Joatão, de Acaz e de Ezequias, rei de Judá.	1 The vision of Isaiah, the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem, in the days of Uzziah, Joatham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.
2 Ouvi, céus, e tu, ó terra, escuta, é o Senhor que fala: Eu criei filhos e os eduquei, eles, porém, se revoltaram contra mim.	2 Listen, O heavens, and pay attention, O earth, for the Lord has spoken. I have nurtured and raised children, but they have spurned me.
3 O boi conhece o seu possuidor, e o asno, o estábulo do seu dono; mas Israel não conhece nada, e meu povo não tem entendimento.	3 An ox knows his owner, and a donkey knows the manger of his lord, but Israel has not known me, and my people have not understood.
4 Ai da nação pecadora, do povo carregado de crimes, da raça de malfeitores, dos filhos desnaturados! Abandonaram o Senhor, desprezaram o Santo de Israel, e lhe voltaram as costas.	4 Woe to a sinful nation, a people burdened by iniquity, a wicked offspring, accursed children. They have abandoned the Lord. They have blasphemed the Holy One of Israel. They been taken away backwards.
5 Onde vos ferir ainda, quando persistis na rebelião? Toda a cabeça está enferma, e todo o coração, abatido.	5 For what reason shall I continue to strike you, as you increase transgressions? The entire head is feeble, and the entire heart is grieving.
6 Desde a planta dos pés até o alto da cabeça, não há nele coisa sã. Tudo é uma ferida, uma contusão, uma chaga viva, que não foi nem curada, nem ligada, nem suavizada com óleo.	6 From the sole of the foot, even to the top of the head, there is no soundness within. Wounds and bruises and swelling sores: these are not bandaged, nor treated with medicine, nor soothed with oil.
7 Vossa terra está assolada, vossas cidades, incendiadas. Os inimigos, à vossa vista, devastam vosso país. {É uma desolação, como a ruína de Sodoma}.	7 Your land is desolate. Your cities have been set ablaze. Foreigners devour your countryside in your sight, and it will become desolate, as if devastated by enemies.
8 Sião está só como choupana em uma vinha, como choça em pepinal, como cidade sitiada.	8 And the daughter of Zion will be left behind, like an arbor in a vineyard, and like a shelter in a cucumber field, and like a city being laid to waste.
9 Se o Senhor dos exércitos não nos tivesse deixado alguns da nossa linhagem, teríamos sido como Sodoma, e ter-nos-íamos tornado como Gomorra.	9 If the Lord of hosts had not bequeathed us offspring, we would have been like Sodom, and we would have been comparable to Gomorrah.
10 Ouvi a palavra do Senhor, príncipes de Sodoma; escuta a lição de nosso Deus, povo de Gomorra:	10 Listen to the Word of the Lord, you leaders of the people of Sodom. Listen closely to the law of our God, O people of Gomorrah.
11 De que me serve a mim a multidão das vossas vítimas?, diz o Senhor. Já estou farto de holocaustos de cordeiros e da gordura de novilhos cevados. Eu não quero sangue de touros e de bodes.	11 The multitude of your sacrifices, what is that to me, says the Lord? I am full. I do not desire holocausts of rams, nor the fat of fatlings, nor the blood of calves and of lambs and of he-goats.
12 quando vindes apresentar-vos diante de mim, quem vos reclamou isto: atropelar os meus átrios?	12 When you approach before my sight, who is it that requires these things from your hands, so that you would walk in my courts?
13 De nada serve trazer oferendas; tenho horror da fumaça dos sacrifícios. As luas novas, os sábados, as reuniões de culto, não posso suportar a presença do crime na festa religiosa.	13 You should no longer offer sacrifice vain. Incense is an abomination to me. The new moons and the Sabbaths and the other feast days, I will not receive. Your gatherings are iniquitous.
14 Eu abomino as vossas luas novas e as vossas festas; elas me são molestas, estou cansado delas.	14 My soul hates your days of proclamation and your solemnities. They have become bothersome to me. I labor to endure them.
15 Quando estendeis vossas mãos, eu desvio de vós os meus olhos; quando multiplicais vossas preces, não as ouço. Vossas mãos estão cheias de sangue,	15 And so, when you extend your hands, I will avert my eyes from you. And when you multiply your prayers, I will not heed you. For your hands are full of blood.
16 lavai-vos, purificai-vos. Tirai vossas más ações de diante de meus olhos.	16 Wash, become clean, take away the evil of your intentions from my eyes. Cease to act perversely.
17 Cessai de fazer o mal, aprendei a fazer o bem. Respeitai o direito, protegei o oprimido; fazei justiça ao órfão, defendei a viúva.	17 Learn to do good. Seek judgment, support the oppressed, judge for the orphan, defend the widow.
18 Pois bem, justifiquemo-nos, diz o Senhor. Se vossos pecados forem escarlates, tornar-se-ão brancos como a neve! Se forem vermelhos como a púrpura, ficarão brancos como a lã!	18 And then approach and accuse me, says the Lord. Then, if your sins are like scarlet, they shall be made white like snow; and if they are red like vermillion, they shall become white like wool.
19 Se fordes dóceis e obedientes, provareis os melhores frutos da terra;	19 If you are willing, and you listen to me, then you will eat the good things of the land.
20 se recusardes e vos revoltardes, provareis a espada. É a boca do Senhor que o declara.	20 But if you are not willing, and you provoke me to anger, then the sword will devour you. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
21 Como se prostituiu a cidade fiel, Sião, cheia de retidão? A justiça habitava nela, e agora são os homicidas.	21 How has the faithful city, full of judgment, become a harlot? Justice lived in her, but now murderers.
22 Tua prata converteu-se em escória, teu vinho misturou-se com água.	22 Your silver has turned into dross. Your wine has been mixed with water.
23 Teus príncipes são rebeldes, cúmplices de ladrões. Todos eles amam as dádivas e andam atrás do proveito próprio; não fazem justiça ao órfão, e a causa da viúva não é evocada diante deles.	23 Your leaders are unfaithful, the associates of thieves. They all love gifts; they pursue rewards. They do not judge for orphans, and the widow’s case is not brought before them.
24 Por isso eis o que diz o Senhor, Deus dos exércitos, o Poderoso de Israel: Ah! eu tirarei satisfação de meus adversários, e me vingarei de meus inimigos.	24 Because of this, the Lord God of hosts, the Strength of Israel, says: Ah! I will be consoled over my enemies, and I will be vindicated from my adversaries.
25 Voltarei minha mão contra ti, e te purificarei no crisol, e eliminarei de ti todo o chumbo.	25 And I will turn my hand to you. And I will temper your dross unto purity, and I will take away all your tin.
26 Tornarei teus juízes semelhantes aos de outrora, e teus conselheiros como os de antigamente. Então te chamarão Cidade da Justiça, Cidade fiel.	26 And I will restore your judges, so that they will be as before, and your counselors as in times long past. After this, you shall be called the City of the Just, the Faithful City.
27 Sião será remida pelo direito, e seus convertidos pela justiça..	27 Zion will be redeemed in judgment, and they will lead her back to justice.
28 Os rebeldes e os pecadores serão destruídos juntamente, e aqueles que abandonam o Senhor perecerão.	28 And he shall crush the accursed and sinners together. And those who have abandoned the Lord will be consumed.
29 Então tereis vergonha dos carvalhos verdes que cobiçais, e corareis de pejo dos jardins que ora vos agradam,	29 For they shall be confounded because of the idols, to which they have sacrificed. And you shall be ashamed over the gardens that you chose,
30 porque sereis como um carvalho verde com folhagem seca, e como um jardim sem água.	30 when you were like an oak with falling leaves, and like a garden without water.
31 O homem forte será a estopa. e sua obra, a faísca; eles arderão sem que ninguém possa extinguir.	31 And your strength will be like the embers from stubble, and your work will be like a spark, and both will burn together, and there will be no one to extinguish it.
