1 O Senhor disse a Moisés: "Vai procurar o faraó e dize-lhe: eis o que diz o Senhor: deixa ir o meu povo, para que ele me preste um culto.	1 The LORD then told Moses, "Say to Aaron: Stretch out your hand and your staff over the streams and canals and pools, to make frogs overrun the land of Egypt."
2 Se recusas, infestarei de rãs todo o teu território.	2 Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt.
3 O Nilo ferverá de rãs que subirão para invadir tua habitação, teu quarto, teu leito, as casas de teu povo, os teus fornos e tuas amassadeiras.	3 But the magicians did the same by their magic arts. They, too, made frogs overrun the land of Egypt.
4 As rãs subirão sobre ti, sobre teu povo e sobre todos os teus servos".	4 Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "Pray the LORD to remove the frogs from me and my subjects, and I will let the people go to offer sacrifice to the LORD."
5 O Senhor disse a Moisés: "Dize a Aarão: estende a tua mão com a tua vara sobre os rios, os canais e os lagos, e faze subir as rãs sobre a terra do Egito."	5 Moses answered Pharaoh, "Do me the favor of appointing the time when I am to pray for you and your servants and your subjects, that the frogs may be taken away from you and your houses and be left only in the river."
6 Aarão levantou a mão sobre as águas do Egito, e as rãs subiram e cobriram a terra.	6 "Tomorrow," said Pharaoh. Then Moses replied, "It shall be as you have said, so that you may learn that there is none like the LORD, our God.
7 Os mágicos, porém, fizeram outro tanto com seus encantamentos: fizeram subir as rãs sobre a terra do Egito.	7 The frogs shall leave you and your houses, your servants and your subjects; only in the river shall they be left."
8 O faraó mandou chamar Moisés e Aarão: "Intercedei, disse-lhes ele, junto do Senhor, a fim de que afaste as rãs de mim e de meu povo, e deixarei partir o vosso povo para que ofereça sacrifícios ao Senhor".	8 After Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh's presence, Moses implored the LORD to fulfill the promise he had made to Pharaoh about the frogs;
9 Moisés respondeu-lhe: "Digna-te dizer-me quando é que devo interceder por ti, por teus servos e por teu povo, a fim de que o Senhor afaste as rãs de tua pessoa e de tuas casas, de sorte que fiquem somente no rio".	9 and the LORD did as Moses had asked. The frogs in the houses and courtyards and fields died off.
10 "Seja amanhã", disse ele. Moisés replicou: "Será feito segundo o teu desejo, para que saibas que não há ninguém como o Senhor, nosso Deus.	10 Heaps and heaps of them were gathered up, and there was a stench in the land.
11 As rãs afastar-se-ão de tua pessoa, de tuas habitações, de teus servos e de teu povo; e ficarão somente no Nilo".	11 But when Pharaoh saw that there was a respite, he became obdurate and would not listen to them, just as the LORD had foretold.
12 Moisés e Aarão saíram da casa do rei e Moisés invocou o Senhor a respeito das rãs que enviara contra o faraó.	12 Thereupon the LORD said to Moses, "Tell Aaron to stretch out his staff and strike the dust of the earth, that it may be turned into gnats throughout the land of Egypt."
13 Fez o Senhor o que pedia Moisés: morreram as rãs nas casas, nas praças e nos campos.	13 They did so. Aaron stretched out his hand, and with his staff he struck the dust of the earth, and gnats came upon man and beast. The dust of the earth was turned into gnats throughout the land of Egypt.
14 Ajuntaram-nas em montões e o país ficou infeccionado com isso.	14 Though the magicians tried to bring forth gnats by their magic arts, they could not do so. As the gnats infested man and beast,
15 Mas, vendo o faraó que havia descanso, endureceu o coração; e, como o Senhor havia predito, não ouviu Moisés e Aarão.	15 the magicians said to Pharaoh, "This is the finger of God." Yet Pharaoh remained obstinate and would not listen to them, just as the LORD had foretold.
16 O Senhor disse a Moisés: "Dize a Aarão: levanta a tua vara e fere o pó da terra: ele se converterá em mosquitos em todo o Egito."	16 Again the LORD told Moses, "Early tomorrow morning present yourself to Pharaoh when he goes forth to the water, and say to him: Thus says the LORD: Let my people go to worship me.
17 Fizeram assim: Aarão estendeu a mão com sua vara, e feriu o p da terra: houve mosquitos sobre os homens e os animais. Toda a poeira da terra se transformou em mosquitos em todo o Egito.	17 If you will not let my people go, I warn you, I will loose swarms of flies upon you and your servants and your subjects and your houses. The houses of the Egyptians and the very ground on which they stand shall be filled with swarms of flies.
18 Os mágicos, usando de seus encantamentos, tentaram produzir mosquitos, mas não o puderam. Os mosquitos ficavam sobre os homens e os animais.	18 But on that day I will make an exception of the land of Goshen: there shall be no flies where my people dwell, that you may know that I am the LORD in the midst of the earth.
19 Então os mágicos disseram ao fara: "Isso é o dedo de Deus". Mas o coração do fara permaneceu endurecido e, como o Senhor havia predito, não ouviu Moisés e Aarão.	19 I will make this distinction between my people and your people. This sign shall take place tomorrow."
20 O Senhor disse a Moisés: "Irás amanhã de manhã apresentar-te diante do fara, quando ele sair para ir à margem do rio, e dir-lhe-ás: eis o que diz o Senhor: deixa partir o meu povo, para me prestar culto.	20 This the LORD did. Thick swarms of flies entered the house of Pharaoh and the houses of his servants; throughout Egypt the land was infested with flies.
21 Se recusares, mandarei moscas sobre tua pessoa, tua gente, teu povo, tuas casas: as casas dos egípcios serão todas invadidas por elas, bem como a terra em que moram.	21 Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said to them, "Go and offer sacrifice to your God in this land."
22 Farei, porém uma exceção naquele dia para a terra a de Gessém, onde habita o meu povo. Ali não haverá moscas, para que saibas que eu, o Senhor, estou no meio da terra.	22 But Moses replied, "It is not right to do so, for the sacrifices we offer to the LORD, our God, are an abomination to the Egyptians. If before their very eyes we offer sacrifices which are an abomination to them, will not the Egyptians stone us?
23 Farei, pois, uma distinção entre o meu povo e o teu. Amanhã terá lugar esse prodígio."	23 We must go a three days' journey in the desert to offer sacrifice to the LORD, our God, as he commands us."
24 Assim fez o Senhor: surgiu na casa do fara, e na de sua gente, uma multidão de moscas, e todo o Egito foi devastado pelas moscas.	24 "Well, then," said Pharaoh, "I will let you go to offer sacrifice to the LORD, your God, in the desert, provided that you do not go too far away and that you pray for me."
25 Mandou então o fara chamar Moisés e Aarão: "Ide, disse-lhes ele, oferecer sacrifícios ao vosso Deus, {mas} no país."	25 Moses answered, "As soon as I leave your presence I will pray to the LORD that the flies may depart tomorrow from Pharaoh and his servants and his subjects. Pharaoh, however, must not play false again by refusing to let the people go to offer sacrifice to the LORD."
26 Moisés respondeu: "Não convém que seja assim: os sacrifícios que oferecemos ao Senhor, nosso Deus, seriam uma abominação para os egípcios. Se oferecermos, sob os seus olhos, sacrifícios que lhes são abomináveis, não nos apedrejerão eles?	26 When Moses left Pharaoh's presence, he prayed to the LORD;
27 Havemos de ir ao deserto, a três dias de caminho, e ofereceremos {lá} sacrifícios ao Senhor, nosso Deus, conforme ele nos ordenou."	27 and the LORD did as Moses had asked. He removed the flies from Pharaoh and his servants and subjects. Not one remained.
28 "Consinto, replicou o fara, em vos deixar partir: oferecereis sacrifícios ao Senhor, vosso Deus, no deserto; somente não ireis muito longe. Rogai por mim".	28 But once more Pharaoh became obdurate and would not let the people go.
29 Moisés respondeu: "Logo que eu sair de tua casa, intercederei junto ao Senhor, e amanhã as moscas se afastarão do fara, de seus servos e de seu povo. Somente não continue o fara a nos enganar, recusando-se deixar ir o povo para oferecer sacrifícios ao Senhor".
30 Moisés saiu da casa do fara. Rogou ao Senhor,
31 e fez o Senhor o que lhe era pedido: as moscas afastaram-se do fara, de sua gente, de seu povo e não restou uma sequer.
32 Mas ainda esta vez endureceu o fara o seu coração, e não deixou ir o povo.
