SAGRADA BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 O Senhor disse a Moisés: "Mandarei ainda uma outra praga sobre o faraó e sobre o Egito, e em conseqüência dela vos deixará partir daqui. Quando vos deixar partir, será definitivamente, será mesmo expulsando-vos daqui.	1 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'I shal inflict one more plague on Pharaoh and Egypt, after which he willet you go away. When he lets you go, he wil actually drive you out!
2 Dirás ao povo que cada homem peça ao seu vizinho, cada mulher à sua vizinha, objetos de prata e de ouro".	2 Now instruct the people that every man is to ask his neighbour, and every woman hers, for silver andgolden jewel ery.'
3 O Senhor fez que o povo ganhasse o favor dos egípcios. Moisés mesmo era muito considerado no Egito pelos servos do faraó e por todo o povo.	3 And Yahweh made the Egyptians impressed with the people, while Moses himself was a man of greatimportance in Egypt in the opinion of Pharaoh's officials and the people.
4 Moisés disse: "Eis o que diz o Senhor: pela meia-noite passarei através do Egito,	4 Moses then said, 'Yahweh says this, "At midnight I shal pass through Egypt,
5 e morrerá todo primogênito na terra do Egito, desde o primogênito do faraó, que deveria assentar-se no seu trono, até o primogênito do escravo que faz girar a mó, assim como todo primogênito dos animais.	5 and all the first-born in Egypt wil die, from the first-born of Pharaoh, heir to his throne, to the first-bornof the slave-girl at the mill, and all the first-born of the livestock.
6 Haverá em toda a terra do Egito um clamor tal como nunca houve nem haverá jamais.	6 And throughout Egypt there wil be great wailing, such as never was before, nor will be again.
7 Quanto aos israelitas, porém, desde os homens até os animais, ninguém, nem mesmo um cão moverá a sua língua. Sabereis assim como o Senhor fez distinção entre os egípcios e os israelitas.	7 But against the Israelites, whether man or beast, never a dog shal bark, so that you may know thatYahweh discriminates between Egypt and Israel.
8 Então todos esses teus servos virão procurar-me e prostrar-se-ão diante de mim, dizendo: vai-te, tu e todo o povo que te acompanha! E depois disso partirei". Moisés, grandemente irado, saiu da casa do faraó.	8 Then all these officials of yours wil come down to me and, bowing low before me, say: Go away, youand all the people who fol ow you! After which, I shal go." ' And, hot with anger, he left Pharaoh's presence.
9 O Senhor disse a Moisés: "o faraó não vos ouvirá, a fim de que meus prodígios se multipliquem no Egito".	9 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Pharaoh wil not listen to you, so that more of my wonders may bedisplayed in Egypt.'
10 Moisés e Aarão tinham operado todos esses prodígios em presença do faraó. Mas o Senhor endureceu o coração do faraó, que não permitiu aos israelitas partirem de sua terra.	10 Moses and Aaron worked al these wonders in Pharaoh's presence, but Yahweh made Pharaohstubborn, and he did not let the Israelites leave his country.
