Livro de Esdras 1

SAGRADA BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 No primeiro ano de Ciro, rei da Pérsia, para que se cumprisse a profecia posta pelo Senhor na boca de Jeremias, o Senhor suscitou o espírito de Ciro, rei da Pérsia, o qual mandou fazer em todo o seu reino, de viva voz e por escrito, a proclamação seguinte:	1 In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia -- to fulfil the word of Yahweh spoken through Jeremiah -Yahwehroused the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia to issue a proclamation and to have it publicly displayed throughout hiskingdom:
2 Assim fala Ciro, rei da Pérsia: o Senhor, Deus do céu, deu-me todos os reinos da terra, e encarregou-me de construir-lhe um templo em Jerusalém, que fica na terra de Judá.	2 'Cyrus king of Persia says this, "Yahweh, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earthand has appointed me to build him a Temple in Jerusalem, in Judah.
3 Quem é dentre vós pertencente ao seu povo, que seu Deus o acompanhe, suba a Jerusalém que fica na terra de Judá e construa o templo do Senhor, Deus de Israel, o Deus que reside em Jerusalém.	3 Whoever among you belongs to the ful tal y of his people, may his God be with him! Let him go up toJerusalem, in Judah, and build the Temple of Yahweh, God of Israel, who is the God in Jerusalem.
4 Que todos os sobreviventes {de Judá} onde quer que residam, sejam providos pelos habitantes da localidade onde se encontrarem, de prata, ouro, cereais e gado, bem como de oferendas voluntárias para o templo do Deus que reside em Jerusalém.	4 And let each survivor, wherever he lives, be helped by the people of his locality with silver, gold,equipment and riding beasts, as wel as voluntary offerings for the Temple of God which is in Jerusalem." '
5 Então os chefes de família de Judá e de Benjamim, bem como todos os sacerdotes e os levitas, principalmente todos aqueles cujo espírito Deus havia tocado, prepararam-se para ir reedificar o templo do Senhor em Jerusalém.	5 Then the heads of families of Judah and of Benjamin, the priests and the Levites, in fact al whose spirithad been roused by God, prepared to go and rebuild the Temple of Yahweh in Jerusalem;
6 Todos os que habitavam pelas redondezas ajudaram-nos, dando-lhes prata, ouro, bens diversos, gado, cereais e coisas preciosas, além das outras ofertas voluntárias.	6 and al their neighbours gave them every kind of help: silver, gold, equipment, riding beasts andvaluable presents, in addition to their voluntary offerings.
7 O rei Ciro entregou também os utensílios que Nabucodonosor trouxera do templo do Senhor em Jerusalém e colocara no templo de seu deus.	7 Furthermore, King Cyrus handed over the articles belonging to the Temple of Yahweh whichNebuchadnezzar had carried away from Jerusalem and put in the temple of his god.
8 Ciro, rei da Pérsia, mandou-os entregar pelas mãos de Mitrídates, o tesoureiro, o qual os entregou a Sassabasar, príncipe de Judá.	8 Cyrus king of Persia handed them over to Mithredath the treasurer who checked them out toSheshbazzar the prince of Judah.
9 Eis o número deles: trinta bacias de ouro, mil bacias de prata, vinte e nove facas, trinta taças de ouro,	9 The inventory was as fol ows: thirty gold dishes; one thousand silver dishes, twenty-nine repaired;
10 quatrocentas e dez taças de prata, e mil outros utensílios.	10 thirty gold bowls; a thousand silver bowls, four hundred and ten damaged; one thousand other articles.
11 Todos os utensílios de ouro e de prata eram em número de cinco mil e quatrocentos. Tudo levou Sassabasar quando os exilados voltaram de Babilônia para Jerusalém.	11 In al , five thousand four hundred articles of gold and silver. Sheshbazzar took al these with him whenhe led the exiles back from Babylon to Jerusalem.
