I Livro das Crônicas 29

SAGRADA BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Disse o rei Davi a toda a assembléia: Meu filho Salomão, o único que Deus escolheu, é ainda jovem e fraco, e a obra é considerável, pois não é a um homem que este palácio é destinado, mas ao Senhor Deus.	1 David then addressed the whole assembly, 'Solomon my son, whom Yahweh has specifical y chosen,is young and immature, and the work is great; this palace is not for any human being but for Yahweh God.
2 Empenhei todos os meus esforços em preparar para a casa de meu Deus ouro para os objetos de ouro, prata para os objetos de prata, bronze para os objetos de bronze, ferro para os objetos de ferro, madeira para os objetos de madeira, pedras de ônix, e pedras de engaste, pedras preciosas de diversas cores, todas as espécies de pedras preciosas e mármore em grande quantidade.	2 With al the resources I can command, for the house of my God I have provided gold for what must bemade of gold, silver for what must be made of silver, bronze for what must be made of bronze, iron for what mustbe made of iron, wood for what must be made of wood, as well as cornelian for inlay work, slabs of multi-coloured mosaic, every kind of precious stone and quantities of alabaster.
3 Ademais, o ouro e a prata que possuo como propriedade minha, dou-os por amor para a casa de meu Deus, além de tudo o que preparei para o santuário:	3 Furthermore, because my affections are set on the house of my God, I have also given what gold andsilver I personal y own for the house of my God, over and above everything which I have already provided for theholy Temple-
4 três mil talentos de ouro, ouro de Ofir, e sete mil talentos de fina prata para revestir as paredes das salas.	4 that is to say, three thousand talents of gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver foroverlaying the walls of the buildings,
5 Quanto a ouro para a ourivesaria, prata para a prataria, e para todo o trabalho dos artífices, quem quer, ainda hoje, oferecer espontaneamente donativos ao Senhor?	5 the gold being for what must be made of gold, and the silver for what must be made of silver: and forwhatever the craftsmen must make. Who, then, is wil ing to devote himself to Yahweh's service today?'
6 Os chefes das famílias, os chefes das tribos de Israel, os chefes de milhares e de centenas, assim como os intendentes do rei, fizeram donativos voluntários.	6 At this, the heads of families, the tribal chiefs of Israel, the commanders of the thousands and thehundreds and those who managed the king's affairs,
7 Deram, para o serviço do templo, cinco mil talentos de ouro, dez mil dáricos, dez mil talentos de prata, dezoito mil talentos de bronze e cem mil talentos de ferro.	7 volunteered a gift of five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, ten thousand talents ofsilver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze and a hundred thousand talents of iron,
8 Aqueles que possuíam pedras preciosas deram-nas para o tesouro da casa de Deus, em mãos de Jeiel, o gersonita.	8 while those who owned precious stones presented them to the treasury of the house of Yahweh in thecustody of Jehiel the Gershonite.
9 O povo se alegrava com suas oferendas voluntárias, pois era de coração generoso que as faziam ao Senhor; e o próprio rei Davi sentiu uma grande alegria.	9 The people rejoiced at what these had given so readily, since they had presented their freewilofferings wholeheartedly to Yahweh. King David too was fil ed with joy.
10 Davi bendisse o Senhor, em presença de toda a assembléia Sede bendito, disse ele, para todo o sempre, Senhor, Deus de nosso pai Israel!	10 Hence, in the presence of the whole assembly David blessed Yahweh. David said: 'May you beblessed, Yahweh, God of Israel our ancestor, for ever and for ever!
11 A vós, Senhor, a grandeza, o poder, a honra, a majestade e a glória, porque tudo que está no céu e na terra vos pertence. A vós, Senhor, a realeza, porque sois soberanamente elevado acima de todas as coisas.	11 Yours, Yahweh, is the greatness, the power, the splendour, length of days and glory, everything inheaven and on earth is yours. Yours is the sovereignty, Yahweh; you are exalted, supreme over al .
12 É de vós que vêm a riqueza e a glória, sois vós o Senhor de todas as coisas; é em vossa mão que residem a força e o poder. E é vossa mão que tem o poder de dar a todas as coisas grandeza e solidez.	12 Wealth and riches come from you, you are ruler of all, in your hand lie strength and power, and youbestow greatness and might on whomsoever you please.
13 Agora, ó nosso Deus, nós vos louvamos e celebramos vosso nome glorioso.	13 So now, our God, we give thanks to you and praise your majestic name,
14 Quem sou eu, e quem é meu povo, para que possamos fazer-vos voluntariamente estas oferendas? Tudo vem de vós e não oferecemos senão o que temos recebido de vossa mão.	14 for who am I and what is my people, for us to be able to volunteer offerings like this? - sinceeverything has come from you and we have given you only what you bestowed in the first place,
15 Diante de vós, não passamos de estrangeiros e peregrinos, como todos os nossos pais; nossos dias na terra são como a sombra, sem que haja esperança.	15 and we are guests before you, and passing visitors as were al our ancestors, our days on earthfleeting as a shadow and without hope.
16 Senhor, nosso Deus, todas estas riquezas que preparamos para construir uma casa a vosso santo nome, é de vossa mão que elas vêm e a vós pertencem.	16 Yahweh our God, all this wealth, which we have provided to build a house for your holy name, hascome from you and all belongs to you.
17 Eu sei, meu Deus, que perscrutais os corações e amais a retidão; por isso, é na retidão e espontaneidade de meu coração que vos ofereço tudo isso e é com alegria que vejo agora vosso povo, aqui presente, fazer-vos suas oferendas voluntárias.	17 'Knowing, my God, how you examine our motives and how you delight in integrity, with integrity ofmotive I have wil ingly given all this and have been overjoyed to see your people, now present here, wil inglyoffering their gifts to you.
18 Senhor, Deus de Abraão, de Isaac e de Israel, nossos pais, guardai para sempre no coração de vosso povo estas disposições e sentimentos, e dirigi seu coração para vós.	18 Yahweh, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel our ancestors, watch over this for ever, shape thepurpose of your people's heart and direct their hearts to you,
19 A meu filho Salomão, dai um coração íntegro para observar vossos mandamentos, vossos preceitos e vossas leis, para pô-los todos em prática, e para construir este edifício do qual fiz os preparativos.	19 and give an undivided heart to Solomon my son to keep your commandments, your decrees andyour statutes, to put them all into effect and to build the palace for which I have made provision.'
20 Depois disse Davi a toda a assembléia: Bendizei ao Senhor, nosso Deus. E toda a assembléia bendisse ao Senhor, o Deus de seus pais, inclinando-se e prostrando-se diante do Senhor e diante do rei.	20 David then addressed the whole assembly: 'Now bless Yahweh your God!' And the whole assemblyblessed Yahweh, God of their ancestors, bowing down in homage to Yahweh, and to the king.
21 No dia seguinte, imolaram as vítimas ao Senhor, e ofereceram em holocausto mil touros, mil carneiros e mil cordeiros, com as libações ordinárias, e outros sacrifícios em grande quantidade por todo o Israel.	21 On the day fol owing this, they slaughtered sacrifices and brought burnt offerings to Yahweh onbehalf of Israel -- a thousand bul s, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs with their libations, as wel as manyother sacrifices-
22 Nesse dia comeram e beberam diante do Senhor com grande alegria. Pela segunda vez, proclamaram rei a Salomão, filho de Davi, e ungiram-no chefe diante do Senhor. Ungiram também Sadoc, como sumo sacerdote.	22 and they ate and drank that day in Yahweh's presence with great joy. They then made Solomon sonof David king a second time, anointing him as leader for Yahweh, and Zadok as priest.
23 Salomão tomou posse do trono do Senhor como rei, no lugar de Davi, seu pai; prosperou, e todo o Israel lhe obedeceu.	23 Solomon took his seat on Yahweh's throne, to reign in succession to David his father. He prospered,and all Israel obeyed him.
24 Todos os chefes e heróis, e mesmo todos os filhos do rei Davi, sujeitaram-se ao rei Salomão.	24 Al the chiefs, al the leading citizens and al King David's other sons pledged allegiance to KingSolomon.
25 O Senhor elevou ao mais alto grau a grandeza de Salomão, à vista de todo o Israel e deu a seu reino tal esplendor que nenhum rei de Israel jamais possuíra antes dele.	25 Yahweh made Solomon exceedingly powerful, as all Israel could see, and gave him a reign of suchsplendour as no previous king of Israel ever had.
26 Davi, filho de Isaí, tinha reinado sobre todo o Israel.	26 David son of Jesse was king of al Israel.
27 A duração de seu reinado sobre Israel foi de quarenta anos: sete anos em Hebron, e trinta e três anos em Jerusalém.	27 He was king of Israel for a period of forty years; he reigned at Hebron for seven years, and inJerusalem for thirty-three.
28 Faleceu numa feliz velhice, carregado de dias, de riquezas e de glória. Seu filho Salomão sucedeu-lhe no trono.	28 He died at a good old age, ful of days, riches and honour. Then his son Solomon succeeded him.
29 Os feitos do rei Davi, dos primeiros aos últimos, estão relatados no livro de Samuel, o vidente, no livro do profeta Natã, e no livro de Gad, o vidente.	29 The history of King David, from first to last, is al written down in the records of Samuel the seer, therecords of Nathan the prophet and the records of Gad the seer,
30 com todo o seu reino e todos os seus feitos, e as vicissitudes pelas quais passou, assim como Israel e todos os reinos das terras vizinhas.	30 with his entire reign, his mighty deeds and the times which he, Israel and al the kings of othercountries, had experienced.
