Lettera a Tito 2

1 Tu, però, insegna ciò che è conforme alla sana dottrina.	1 But you are to speak the things that befit sound doctrine.
2 Che i vecchi siano sobri, dignitosi, prudenti, sani nella fede, nella carità e nella pazienza.	2 Old men should be sober, chaste, prudent, sound in faith, in love, in patience.
3 Anche le donne anziane abbiano un comportamento quale si addice ai santi; non siano malediche né schiave del molto vino, ma piuttosto maestre di bontà,	3 Old women, similarly, should be in holy attire, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teaching well,
4 per insegnare alle giovani ad essere sagge, ad amare i loro mariti e i loro figli,	4 so that they may teach prudence to the young women, so that they may love their husbands, love their children,
5 ad essere prudenti, caste, attaccate ai loro doveri domestici, buone, sottomesse ai loro mariti, perché non sia vituperata la parola del Signore.	5 be sensible, chaste, restrained, have concern for the household, be kind, be subordinate to their husbands: so that the Word of God may be not blasphemed.
6 Esorta anche i più giovani ad essere prudenti in tutto,	6 Exhort young men similarly, so that they may show self-restraint.
7 offrendo te stesso come modello di buone opere: purità nella dottrina, gravità,	7 In all things, present yourself as an example of good works: in doctrine, with integrity, with seriousness,
8 parola sana e incensurabile, affinché l'avversario sia confuso non trovando niente di male da dire nei nostri riguardi.	8 with sound words, irreproachably, so that he who is an opponent may dread that he has nothing evil to say about us.
9 Gli schiavi siano sottomessi ai loro padroni in ogni cosa, cercando di piacere a loro, senza contraddirli;	9 Exhort servants to be submissive to their masters, in all things pleasing, not contradicting,
10 non li frodino, ma dimostrino loro la più sincera fedeltà, allo scopo di rendere onore in tutto alla dottrina del Salvatore nostro Dio.	10 not cheating, but in all things showing good fidelity, so that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.
11 E' apparsa infatti la grazia di Dio, apportatrice di salvezza per tutti gli uomini,	11 For the grace of God our Savior has appeared to all men,
12 insegnandoci a vivere nel secolo presente con saggezza, con giustizia e pietà, rinunciando all'empietà e ai desideri mondani,	12 instructing us to reject impiety and worldly desires, so that we may live soberly and justly and piously in this age,
13 in attesa della beata speranza e della manifestazione della gloria del grande Dio e Salvatore nostro Gesù Cristo,	13 looking forward to the blessed hope and the advent of the glory of the great God and of our Savior Jesus Christ.
14 il quale ha dato se stesso per noi allo scopo di riscattarci da ogni iniquità e purificare per sé un popolo che gli appartenga, zelante nel compiere opere buone.	14 He gave himself for our sake, so that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and might cleanse for himself an acceptable people, pursuers of good works.
15 Queste cose prèdicale ed incùlcale, riprendendo con ogni autorità. Nessuno ti disprezzi.	15 Speak and exhort and argue these things with all authority. Let no one despise you.
