1 Dopo queste cose, il coppiere del re d'Egitto e il panettiere offesero il loro padrone, il re di Egitto.	1 And it came to pass after these things, that the butler of the king of Egypt and his baker had offended their lord the king of Egypt.
2 Il faraone si adirò contro i suoi due eunuchi, contro il capo-coppiere e contro il capo-panettiere,	2 And Pharaoh was wroth against two of his officers, against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers.
3 e li fece mettere in residenza forzata nella casa del capo-cuoco, nella stessa prigione dove Giuseppe era detenuto.	3 And he put them in ward in the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Joseph was bound.
4 E il capo-cuoco incaricò di loro Giuseppe, perché li servisse. Così essi restarono nella residenza forzata per un certo tempo.	4 And the captain of the guard charged Joseph with them, and he served them: and they continued a season in ward.
5 Ora in una medesima notte il coppiere e il panettiere del re di Egitto, ch'erano detenuti nella prigione, ebbero ambedue un sogno, ciascuno il suo sogno, e ciascun sogno aveva il suo significato particolare.	5 And they dreamed a dream both of them, each man his dream in one night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream, the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, which were bound in the prison.
6 Alla mattina, Giuseppe venne da loro e li trovò conturbati.	6 And Joseph came in unto them in the morning, and looked upon them, and, behold, they were sad.
7 Allora interrogò gli eunuchi del faraone che erano con lui nella residenza forzata della casa del suo padrone, e disse: "Come mai quest'oggi avete un volto così brutto?".	7 And he asked Pharaoh's officers that were with him in the ward of his lord's house, saying, Wherefore look ye so sadly to day?
8 Gli risposero: "Abbiamo fatto un sogno e non c'è chi lo interpreti". Giuseppe disse loro: "Non è forse Dio che ha in suo potere le interpretazioni? Raccontatemi, vi prego".	8 And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you.
9 Allora il capo-coppiere raccontò il suo sogno a Giuseppe e disse: "Nel mio sogno, ecco che mi stava davanti una vite,	9 And the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, In my dream, behold, a vine was before me;
10 e in quella vite vi erano tre tralci, e non appena essa incominciò a germogliare, subito apparvero i fiori, e i suoi grappoli portarono a maturazione gli acini.	10 And in the vine were three branches: and it was as though it budded, and her blossoms shot forth; and the clusters thereof brought forth ripe grapes:
11 Io avevo in mano la coppa del faraone; presi gli acini, li spremetti nel calice del faraone e diedi il calice in mano al faraone".	11 And Pharaoh's cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand.
12 Giuseppe gli disse: "Questa è la sua interpretazione: i tre tralci sono tre giorni.	12 And Joseph said unto him, This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days:
13 Dopo tre giorni il faraone solleverà la tua testa e ti restituirà nella tua carica, e tu porgerai la coppa in mano del faraone, secondo la consuetudine di prima, quando eri il suo coppiere.	13 Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh's cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler.
14 Ma tu ti vorrai ricordare di me quando sarai felice? Fammi, ti prego, questo atto di benevolenza, ricordami al faraone e fammi uscire da questa casa.	14 But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house:
15 Perché io sono stato portato via furtivamente dal paese degli Ebrei, e anche qui non ho fatto nulla perché mi mettessero in questa fossa".	15 For indeed I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews: and here also have I done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.
16 Allora il capo-panettiere, vedendo che aveva interpretato in senso favorevole, disse a Giuseppe: "Quanto a me, nel mio sogno, ecco che mi stavano sulla testa tre canestri di pan bianco,	16 When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said unto Joseph, I also was in my dream, and, behold, I had three white baskets on my head:
17 e nel canestro che stava di sopra vi era per il faraone ogni sorta di cibi, quali si preparano dai panettieri. Ma gli uccelli li mangiavano dal canestro che avevo sulla testa".	17 And in the uppermost basket there was of all manner of bakemeats for Pharaoh; and the birds did eat them out of the basket upon my head.
18 Giuseppe rispose e disse: "Questa è la sua interpretazione: i tre canestri sono tre giorni.	18 And Joseph answered and said, This is the interpretation thereof: The three baskets are three days:
19 Dopo tre giorni il faraone spiccherà la tua testa dalle tue spalle, poi ti impiccherà ad un palo, e gli uccelli ti mangeranno le carni addosso".	19 Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head from off thee, and shall hang thee on a tree; and the birds shall eat thy flesh from off thee.
20 Effettivamente il terzo giorno, giorno natalizio del faraone, egli fece un convito a tutti i suoi ministri, ed allora sollevò la testa del capo-coppiere e la testa del capo-panettiere in mezzo ai suoi ministri.	20 And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants.
21 Ristabilì il capo-coppiere nel suo ufficio di coppiere, perché desse il calice in mano al faraone,	21 And he restored the chief butler unto his butlership again; and he gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand:
22 e invece impiccò il capo-panettiere, conforme all'interpretazione che Giuseppe aveva loro dato.	22 But he hanged the chief baker: as Joseph had interpreted to them.
23 Ma il capo-coppiere non si ricordò di Giuseppe e lo dimenticò.	23 Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him.
