Revelation 2

1 “And to the Angel of the Church of Ephesus write: Thus says the One who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands:	1 "A l'Ange de l'Eglise d'Ephèse, écris: Ainsi parle celui qui tient les sept étoiles en sa droite etqui marche au milieu des sept candélabres d'or.
2 I know your works, and your hardship and patient endurance, and that you cannot stand those who are evil. And so, you have tested those who declare themselves to be Apostles and are not, and you have found them to be liars.	2 Je connais ta conduite, tes labeurs et ta constance; je le sais, tu ne peux souffrir les méchants: tuas mis à l'épreuve ceux qui usurpent le titre d'apôtres, et tu les as trouvés menteurs.
3 And you have patient endurance for the sake of my name, and you have not fallen away.	3 Tu as de la constance: n'as-tu pas souffert pour mon nom, sans te lasser?
4 But I have this against you: that you have relinquished your first charity.	4 Mais j'ai contre toi que tu as perdu ton amour d'antan.
5 And so, call to mind the place from which you have fallen, and do penance, and do the first works. Otherwise, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.	5 Allons! rappelle-toi d'où tu es tombé, repens-toi, reprends ta conduite première. Sinon, je vaisvenir à toi pour changer ton candélabre de son rang, si tu ne te repens.
6 But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.	6 Il y a cependant pour toi que tu détestes la conduite des Nicolaïtes, que je déteste moi-même.
7 Whoever has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. To him who prevails, I will give to eat from the Tree of Life, which is in the Paradise of my God.	7 Celui qui a des oreilles, qu'il entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Eglises: au vainqueur, je feraimanger de l'arbre de vie placé dans le Paradis de Dieu.
8 And to the Angel of the Church of Smyrna write: Thus says the First and the Last, he who was dead and now lives:	8 "A l'Ange de l'Eglise de Smyrne, écris: Ainsi parle le Premier et le Dernier, celui qui fut mort etqui a repris vie.
9 I know your tribulation and your poverty, but you are rich, and that you are blasphemed by those who declare themselves to be Jews and are not, but who are a synagogue of Satan.	9 Je connais tes épreuves et ta pauvreté - tu es riche pourtant - et les diffamations de ceux quiusurpent le titre de Juifs - une synagogue de Satan plutôt! --
10 You should fear nothing amid those things which you will suffer. Behold, the devil will cast some of you into prison, so that you may be tested. And you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful even unto death, and I will give to you the crown of life.	10 Ne crains pas les souffrances qui t'attendent: voici, le Diable va jeter des vôtres en prison pourvous tenter, et vous aurez dix jours d'épreuve. Reste fidèle jusqu'à la mort, et je te donnerai la couronne de vie.
11 Whoever has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. Whoever will prevail, he shall not be harmed by the second death.	11 Celui qui a des oreilles, qu'il entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Eglises: le vainqueur n'a rien àcraindre de la seconde mort.
12 And to the Angel of the Church of Pergamus write: Thus says he who holds the sharp two-edged spear:	12 "A l'Ange de l'Eglise de Pergame, écris: Ainsi parle celui qui possède l'épée acérée à doubletranchant.
13 I know where you dwell, where the seat of Satan is, and that you hold to my name and have not denied my faith, even in those days when Antipas was my faithful witness, who was slain among you, where Satan dwells.	13 Je sais où tu demeures: là est le trône de Satan. Mais tu tiens ferme à mon nom et tu n'as pasrenié ma foi, même aux jours d'Antipas, mon témoin fidèle, qui fut mis à mort chez vous, là où demeure Satan.
14 But I have a few things against you. For you have, in that place, those who hold to the doctrine of Balaam, who instructed Balak to cast a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, to eat and to commit fornication.	14 Mais j'ai contre toi quelque grief: tu en as là qui tiennent la doctrine de Balaam; il incitaitBalaq à tendre un piège aux fils d'Israël pour qu'ils mangent des viandes immolées aux idoles et se prostituent.
15 And you also have those who hold to the doctrine of the Nicolaitans.	15 Ainsi, chez toi aussi, il en est qui tiennent la doctrine des Nicolaïtes.
16 So do penance to the same extent. If you do less, I will come to you quickly and I will fight against these ones with the sword of my mouth.	16 Allons! repens-toi, sinon je vais bientôt venir à toi pour combattre ces gens avec l'épée de mabouche.
17 Whoever has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. To him who prevails, I will give the hidden manna. And I will give to him a white emblem, and on the emblem, a new name has been written, which no one knows, except the one who receives it.	17 Celui qui a des oreilles, qu'il entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Eglises: au vainqueur, je donneraide la manne cachée et je lui donnerai aussi un caillou blanc, un caillou portant gravé un nom nouveau que nul neconnaît, hormis celui qui le reçoit.
18 And to the Angel of the Church of Thyatira write: Thus says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like shining brass.	18 "A l'Ange de l'Eglise de Thyatire, écris: Ainsi parle le Fils de Dieu, dont les yeux sont commeune flamme ardente et les pieds pareils à de l'airain précieux.
19 I know your works, and your faith and charity, and your ministry and patient endurance, and that your more recent works are greater than the earlier ones.	19 Je connais ta conduite: ton amour, ta foi, ton dévouement, ta constance; tes oeuvres vont sanscesse en se multipliant.
20 But I have a few things against you. For you permit the woman Jezabel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants, to commit fornication and to eat the food of idolatry.	20 Mais j'ai contre toi que tu tolères Jézabel, cette femme qui se dit prophétesse; elle égare messerviteurs, les incitant à se prostituer en mangeant des viandes immolées aux idoles.
21 And I gave her a time, so that she might do penance, but she is not willing to repent from her fornication.	21 Je lui ai laissé le temps de se repentir, mais elle refuse de se repentir de ses prostitutions.
22 Behold, I will cast her onto a bed, and those who commit adultery with her shall be in a very great tribulation, unless they repent from their works.	22 Voici, je vais la jeter sur un lit de douleurs, et ses compagnons de prostitution dans uneépreuve terrible, s'ils ne se repentent de leur conduite.
23 And I will put her sons to death, and all the Churches shall know that I am the one who examines temperaments and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works. But I say to you,	23 Et ses enfants, je vais les frapper de mort: ainsi, toutes les Eglises sauront que c'est moi quisonde les reins et les coeurs; et je vous paierai chacun selon vos oeuvres.
24 and to the others who are at Thyatira: Whoever does not hold to this doctrine, and who has not ‘known the depths of Satan,’ as they say, I will not set any other weight upon you.	24 Quant à vous autres, à Thyatire, qui ne partagez pas cette doctrine, vous qui n'avez pas connu"les profondeurs de Satan", comme ils disent, je vous déclare que je ne vous impose pas d'autre fardeau;
25 Even so, that which you have, hold on to it until I return.	25 du moins, ce que vous avez, tenez-le ferme jusqu'à mon retour.
26 And whoever will prevail and will observe my works even unto the end, I will give to him authority over the nations.	26 Le vainqueur, celui qui restera fidèle à mon service jusqu'à la fin, je lui donnerai pouvoir surles nations:
27 And he shall rule them with an iron rod, and they shall be broken like the earthenware of a potter.	27 c'est avec un sceptre de fer qu'il les mènera comme on fracasse des vases d'argile!
28 The same I also have received from my Father. And I will give to him the morning star.	28 Ainsi moi-même j'ai reçu ce pouvoir de mon Père. Et je lui donnerai l'Etoile du matin.
29 Whoever has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.”	29 Celui qui a des oreilles, qu'il entende ce que l'Esprit dit aux Eglises.
