2 Thessalonians 1

1 Paul and Sylvanus and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians, in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	1 Paul, Silvain et Timothée, à l'Eglise des Thessaloniciens qui est en Dieu notre Père etdans le Seigneur Jésus Christ.
2 Grace and peace to you, from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.	2 Que Dieu le Père et le Seigneur Jésus Christ vous accordent grâce et paix.
3 We ought to give thanks always to God for you, brothers, in a fitting manner, because your faith is increasing greatly, and because the charity of each of you toward one another is abundant,	3 Nous devons rendre grâce à Dieu à tout moment à votre sujet, frères, et ce n'est que juste,parce que votre foi est en grand progrès et que l'amour de chacun pour les autres s'accroît parmi vous tous,
4 so much so that we ourselves even glory in you among the churches of God, because of your patience and faith in all of your persecutions and tribulations that you endure,	4 au point que nous-mêmes sommes fiers de vous parmi les Eglises de Dieu, de votreconstance et de votre foi dans toutes les persécutions et tribulations que vous supportez.
5 which are a sign of the just judgment of God, so that you may be held worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer.	5 Par là se manifeste le juste jugement de Dieu, où vous serez trouvés dignes du Royaumede Dieu pour lequel vous souffrez vous aussi.
6 For certainly, it is just for God to repay trouble to those who trouble you,	6 Car ce sera bien l'effet de la justice de Dieu de rendre la tribulation à ceux qui vousl'infligent,
7 and to repay you, who are being troubled, with a repose with us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with the Angels of his virtue,	7 et à vous, qui la subissez, le repos avec nous, quand le Seigneur Jésus se révélera du hautdu ciel, avec les anges de sa puissance,
8 granting vindication, by a flame of fire, against those who do not know God and who are not obedient to the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.	8 au milieu d'une flamme brûlante, et qu'il tirera vengeance de ceux qui ne connaissent pasDieu et de ceux qui n'obéissent pas à l'Evangile de notre Seigneur Jésus.
9 These shall be given the eternal punishment of destruction, apart from the face of the Lord and apart from the glory of his virtue,	9 Ceux-là seront châtiés d'une perte éternelle, éloignés de la face du Seigneur et de la gloirede sa force,
10 when he arrives to be glorified in his saints, and to become a wonder in all those who have believed, in that day, because our testimony has been believed by you.	10 quand il viendra pour être glorifié dans ses saints et admiré en tous ceux qui auront cru -et vous, vous avez cru notre témoignage. Ainsi en sera-t-il en ce jour-là.
11 Because of this, too, we pray always for you, so that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may complete every act of his goodness, as well as his work of faith in virtue,	11 Dans cette pensée, nous prions nous aussi à tout moment pour vous, afin que notre Dieuvous rende dignes de son appel, qu'il mène à bonne fin par sa puissance toute intention de faire le bien et touteactivité de votre foi;
12 in order that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, in accord with the grace of our God and of the Lord Jesus Christ.	12 de la sorte, le nom de notre Seigneur Jésus sera glorifié en vous, et vous en lui,conformément à la grâce de notre Dieu et du Seigneur Jésus Christ.
