1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called as an Apostle, separated for the Gospel of God,	1 Paulo, servo di Cristo, chiamato apostolo, segregato per (predicare) l' evangelio di Dio,
2 which he had promised beforehand, through his Prophets, in the Holy Scriptures,	2 il quale egli inanzi aveva promesso per li suoi profeti nelle sante scritture,
3 about his Son, who was made for him from the offspring of David according to the flesh,	3 (che parlano) del suo figliuolo, il qual è fatto a lui del seme di David secondo la carne;
4 the Son of God, who was predestined in virtue according to the Spirit of sanctification from the resurrection of the dead, our Lord Jesus Christ,	4 egli fu predestinato Figliuolo di Dio nella virtù secondo il spirito di santificazione, della risurrezione de' morti, di Iesù Cristo nostro Signore;
5 through whom we have received grace and Apostleship, for the sake of his name, for the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles,	5 per il qual noi ricevemmo grazia e apostolato, a obbedire alla fede in tutte le genti per il suo nome;
6 from whom you also have been called by Jesus Christ:	6 tra i quali voi siete chiamati di Iesù Cristo (nostro Signore);
7 To all who are at Rome, the beloved of God, called as saints. Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.	7 (e questo dico) a tutti voi, che siete a Roma, amici di Dio, e chiamati santi; a voi sia grazia e pace da Dio padre, e dal Signor nostro Iesù Cristo.
8 Certainly, I give thanks to my God, through Jesus Christ, first for all of you, because your faith is being announced throughout the entire world.	8 Ma certo in prima referisco grazie a Dio per tutti voi, imperò che la vostra fede sia annunciata per tutto il mondo.
9 For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit by the Gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I have kept a remembrance of you	9 E Dio ne sia mio testimonio, al qual io servo nel mio spirito nell' evangelio del suo Figliuolo, che io sempre faccio memoria di voi
10 always in my prayers, pleading that in some way, at some time, I may have a prosperous journey, within the will of God, to come to you.	10 nelle mie orazioni, pregando che se per niuna guisa io alla fine potessi avere dritto viaggio, a venire a voi nella volontà di Dio.
11 For I long to see you, so that I may impart to you a certain spiritual grace to strengthen you,	11 Certo desidero di vedervi, per partecipare a voi alcuna cosa della grazia spirituale per confermarvi;
12 specifically, to be consoled together with you through that which is mutual: your faith and mine.	12 cioè ch' io con voi insieme mi possa consolare per quella fede, ch' è tra voi, insieme mia. e vostra.
13 But I want you to know, brothers, that I have often intended to come to you, (though I have been hindered even to the present time) so that I might obtain some fruit among you also, just as also among the other Gentiles.	13 E voglio che voi sappiate, fratelli, che spesse volte mi ho proposto di venire a voi; e fummi vietato insino a qui; per avere alcuno frutto in voi secondo che nelle altre genti.
14 To the Greeks and to the uncivilized, to the wise and to the foolish, I am in debt.	14 Imperò che alli greci e barbari, ai savii e alli insipienti, son (fatto) debitore.
15 So within me there is a prompting to evangelize to you also who are at Rome.	15 E così [a] voi, che sete a Roma, prontamente desidero annunziarvi la parola di Dio.
16 For I am not ashamed of the Gospel. For it is the power of God unto salvation for all believers, the Jew first, and the Greek.	16 Chè io non ho vergogna di predicare l' evangelio, per la virtù di Dio, e con salute, a ognuno che crede, al iudeo in prima e al greco.
17 For the justice of God is revealed within it, by faith unto faith, just as it was written: “For the just one lives by faith.”	17 E per quello certamente è manifesta la giustizia di Dio di fede in fede, secondo ch' è scritto; ma il giusto vive per la fede.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven over every impiety and injustice among those men who fend off the truth of God with injustice.	18 Certo l' ira di Dio manifestasi dal cielo sopra ogni empietà e ingiustizia delli uomini di coloro che tengono la verità di Dio nella ingiustizia.
19 For what is known about God is manifest in them. For God has manifested it to them.	19 Imperò che quel ch' è cognoscibile di Dio, è manifesto in loro. Perchè Dio a quelli ha manifestato.
20 For unseen things about him have been made conspicuous, since the creation of the world, being understood by the things that were made; likewise his everlasting virtue and divinity, so much so that they have no excuse.	20 Perchè le cose invisibili di Dio si cognoscono esser intese per quelle che son fatte nella creatura del mondo; etiam la virtù e la divinità sempiterna di Dio è sì manifesta, che non si possono escusare.
21 For although they had known God, they did not glorify God, nor give thanks. Instead, they became weakened in their thoughts, and their foolish heart was obscured.	21 Chè (gli antichi vostri pagani) conciosia che eglino (non) cognoscero Dio, nollo glorificarono secondo che Dio, e non gli rendetteno grazie; anzi andarono vanamente secondo li loro pensieri, e il lor cuore diventò matto e oscuro.
22 For, while proclaiming themselves to be wise, they became foolish.	22 E dicendo d'essere savii, sì diventarono pazzi.
23 And they exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of flying things, and of four-legged beasts, and of serpents.	23 E mutarono la gloria dell' incorruttibile Dio nella similitudine e imagine dell' uomo corruttibile, e (simiglianza) d' uccelli e di bestie e di serpenti.
24 For this reason, God handed them over to the desires of their own heart for impurity, so that they afflicted their own bodies with indignities among themselves.	24 Per la qual cosa dètteli Dio ne' desiderii de' lor cuori e nella sozzura, acciò che con vituperii in sè stessi sì tormentino li lor corpi.
25 And they exchanged the truth of God for a lie. And they worshipped and served the creature, rather than the Creator, who is blessed for all eternity. Amen.	25 Li quali mutarono la verità di Dio in bugia; e maggiormente venerarono e servettero alla creatura, che non fecero al creatore, il quale è (Dio) benedetto IN SECULA, AMEN.
26 Because of this, God handed them over to shameful passions. For example, their females have exchanged the natural use of the body for a use which is against nature.	26 Per la qual cosa Dio li lasciò cadere ne' desiderii della vergogna; onde le loro femine mutarono i naturale uso in quello uso ch' è contra natura.
27 And similarly, the males also, abandoning the natural use of females, have burned in their desires for one another: males doing with males what is disgraceful, and receiving within themselves the recompense that necessarily results from their error.	27 Simigliantemente e li loro maschi, abbandonato il naturale uso della femina, andarono nei loro desiderii, maschi con maschi insieme, operando la sozzura; e ricevettero in sè medesimi la mercede del suo errore.
28 And since they did not prove to have God by knowledge, God handed them over to a morally depraved way of thinking, so that they might do those things which are not fitting:	28 E secondo ch' egli non provarono d' avere Dio in conoscimento, Dio li lasciò cadere in senso malvagio, acciò facciano quelle cose che non si convengono.
29 having been completely filled with all iniquity, malice, fornication, avarice, wickedness; full of envy, murder, contention, deceit, malice, gossiping;	29 I quali son pieni d'ogni iniquità, di malizia e di fornicazione, d'avarizia e di iniquità; sono pieni d' invidia e di omicidio, di contenzione e d'inganno e di malizia; sono ancora mormoratori,
30 slanderous, hateful toward God, abusive, arrogant, self-exalting, devisers of evil, disobedient to parents,	30 (portatori di parole) detrattori; sono da Dio odiati, invidiosi, pieni d'altezza; son trovatori di mali, e non sono obbedienti al padre e alla madre.
31 foolish, disorderly; without affection, without fidelity, without mercy.	31 Son senza senno, uomini sconci, senza amore, senza patto, senza misericordia.
32 And these, though they had known the justice of God, did not understand that those who act in such a manner are deserving of death, and not only those who do these things, but also those who consent to what is done.	32 I quali, conciosia che conoscessero la giustizia [di Dio], non intesero che quelli che fanno queste cotali cose, son degni di morte; e non solamente coloro che le fanno, ma etiam coloro che vi consentono.
