1 These are the lodging places of the sons of Israel, who departed from Egypt by their companies under the hand of Moses and Aaron,	1 Voici les étapes que parcoururent les Israélites lorsqu'ils furent sortis du pays d'Egypte selonleurs unités, sous la conduite de Moïse et d'Aaron.
2 which Moses wrote down according to the places of the encampments, which they changed upon the order of the Lord.	2 Moïse consignait par écrit leurs points de départ quand ils partaient sur l'ordre de Yahvé. Voicileurs étapes par point de départ.
3 Thus the sons of Israel set out from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month, on the day after the Passover, with an exalted hand, being seen by all the Egyptians.	3 Ils partirent de Ramsès le premier mois. C'est le quinzième jour du premier mois, lendemain de laPâque, que les Israélites partirent la main haute, aux yeux de toute l'Egypte.
4 And these were burying their firstborn, whom the Lord had struck down (for so, too, did he carry out retribution against their gods).	4 Les Egyptiens ensevelissaient ceux des leurs que Yahvé avait frappés, tous les premiers-nés;Yahvé avait fait justice de leurs dieux.
5 And they made camp at Soccoth.	5 Les Israélites partirent de Ramsès et campèrent à Sukkot.
6 And from Soccoth they went to Etham, which is at the furthest limits of the wilderness.	6 Puis ils partirent de Sukkot et campèrent à Etam, qui est aux confins du désert.
7 Departing from there, they arrived opposite Pi-hahiroth, which looks out toward Baal-zephon, and they were encamped before Migdol.	7 Ils partirent d'Etam, ils revinrent sur Pi-Hahirot, qui est en face de Baal-Cephôn, et campèrentdevant Migdol.
8 And setting out from Pi-hahiroth, they crossed through the middle of the Sea into the wilderness. And having walked for three days through the desert of Etham, they made camp at Marah.	8 Ils partirent de Pi-Hahirot, ils gagnèrent le désert en passant à travers la mer, et après trois joursde marche dans le désert d'Etam ils campèrent à Mara.
9 And setting out from Marah, they arrived at Elim, where there were twelve fountains of water and seventy palm trees. And they set up camp there.	9 Ils partirent de Mara et arrivèrent à Elim. A Elim il y a douze sources d'eau et 70 palmiers; ilscampèrent là.
10 But departing from there also, they fixed their tents above the Red Sea. And setting out from the Red Sea,	10 Ils partirent d'Elim et campèrent près de la mer des Roseaux.
11 they were encamped in the desert of Sin.	11 Ils partirent de la mer des Roseaux et campèrent dans le désert de Sîn.
12 Departing from there, they went to Dophkah.	12 Ils partirent du désert de Sîn et campèrent à Dophka.
13 And setting out from Dophkah, they made camp at Alush.	13 Ils partirent de Dophka et campèrent à Alush.
14 And departing from Alush, they fixed their tents at Rephidim, where the people lacked water to drink.	14 Ils partirent d'Alush et campèrent à Rephidim; le peuple n'y trouva point d'eau à boire.
15 And setting out from Rephidim, they camped in the desert of Sinai.	15 Ils partirent de Rephidim et campèrent dans le désert du Sinaï.
16 But departing also from the wilderness of the Sinai, they arrived at the Graves of Lust.	16 Ils partirent du désert du Sinaï et campèrent à Qibrot-ha-Taava.
17 And setting out from the Graves of Lust, they were encamped at Hazeroth.	17 Ils partirent de Qibrot-ha-Taava et campèrent à Haçérot.
18 And from Hazeroth, they went to Rithmah.	18 Ils partirent de Haçérot et campèrent à Ritma.
19 And setting out from Rithmah, they made camp at Rimmon-perez.	19 Ils partirent de Ritma et campèrent à Rimmôn-Pérèç.
20 And departing from there, they arrived at Libnah.	20 Ils partirent de Rimmôn-Pérèç et campèrent à Libna.
21 From Libnah, they made camp at Rissah.	21 Ils partirent de Libna et campèrent à Rissa.
22 And departing from Rissah, they went to Kehelathah.	22 Ils partirent de Rissa et campèrent à Qehélata.
23 Setting out from there, they were encamped at mount Shepher.	23 Ils partirent de Qehélata et campèrent au mont Shéphèr.
24 Departing from mount Shepher, they went to Haradah.	24 Ils partirent du mont Shéphèr et campèrent à Harada.
25 Continuing on from there, they made camp at Makheloth.	25 Ils partirent de Harada et campèrent à Maqhélot.
26 And setting out from Makheloth, they went to Tahath.	26 Ils partirent de Maqhélot et campèrent à Tahat.
27 From Tahath, they made camp at Terah.	27 Ils partirent de Tahat et campèrent à Térah.
28 Departing from there, they pitched their tents at Mithkah.	28 Ils partirent de Térah et campèrent à Mitqa.
29 And from Mithkah, they were encamped at Hashmonah.	29 Ils partirent de Mitqa et campèrent à Hashmona.
30 And setting out from Hashmonah, they went to Moseroth.	30 Ils partirent de Hashmona et campèrent à Mosérot.
31 And from Moseroth, they made camp at Bene-jaakan.	31 Ils partirent de Mosérot et campèrent à Bené-Yaaqân.
32 And setting out from Bene-jaakan, they went to mount Gidgad.	32 Ils partirent de Bené-Yaaqân et campèrent à Hor-Gidgad.
33 Setting out from there, they were encamped at Jotbathah.	33 Ils partirent de Hor-Gidgad et campèrent à Yotbata.
34 And from Jotbathah, they went to Abronah.	34 Ils partirent de Yotbata et campèrent à Abrona.
35 And departing from Abronah, they made camp at Eziongeber.	35 Ils partirent de Abrona et campèrent à Eçyôn-Gébèr.
36 Setting out from there, they went into the desert of Sin, which is Kadesh.	36 Ils partirent de Eçyôn-Gébèr et campèrent dans le désert de Cîn; c'est Cadès.
37 And departing from Kadesh, they encamped at mount Hor, at the furthermost limits of the land of Edom.	37 Ils partirent de Cadès et campèrent à Hor-la-Montagne, aux confins du pays d'Edom.
38 And Aaron the priest ascended onto mount Hor, by the order of the Lord. And there he died, in the fortieth year of the departure of the sons of Israel from Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month,	38 Aaron, le prêtre, monta à Hor-la-Montagne sur l'ordre de Yahvé et c'est là qu'il mourut, dans laquarantième année de l'exode des Israélites hors du pays d'Egypte, au cinquième mois, le premier du mois.
39 when he was one hundred twenty-three years old.	39 Aaron avait 123 ans lorsqu'il mourut à Hor-la-Montagne.
40 And king Arad the Canaanite, who lived toward the south, heard that the sons of Israel had arrived in the land of Canaan.	40 Le roi d'Arad, un Cananéen qui habitait le Négeb au pays de Canaan, fut informé lors del'arrivée des Israélites.
41 And setting out from mount Hor, they made camp at Zalmonah.	41 Ils partirent de Hor-la-Montagne et campèrent à Calmona.
42 Departing from there, they went to Punon.	42 Ils partirent de Calmona et campèrent à Punôn.
43 And setting out from Punon, they were encamped at Oboth.	43 Ils partirent de Punôn et campèrent à Obot.
44 And from Oboth, they went to Iye-abarim, which is at the borders of the Moabites.	44 Ils partirent de Obot et campèrent sur le territoire de Moab à Iyyé-ha-Abarim.
45 And setting out from Iye-abarim, they fixed their tents at Dibon-gad.	45 Ils partirent de Iyyim et campèrent à Dibôn-Gad.
46 Departing from there, they made camp at Almon-diblathaim.	46 Ils partirent de Dibôn-Gad et campèrent à Almôn-Diblatayim.
47 And departing from Almon-diblathaim, they went to the mountains of Abarim, opposite Nebo.	47 Ils partirent de Almôn-Diblatayim et campèrent aux monts Abarim en face de Nebo.
48 And setting out from the mountains of Abarim, they crossed over to the plains of Moab, above the Jordan, opposite Jericho.	48 Ils partirent des monts Abarim et campèrent aux Steppes de Moab, près du Jourdain versJéricho.
49 And they made camp there, from Beth-jeshimoth all the way to Abel-shittim, in the level places of the Moabites,	49 Ils campèrent près du Jourdain entre Bet-ha-Yeshimot et Abel-ha-Shittim, dans les Steppes deMoab.
50 where the Lord said to Moses:	50 Yahvé parla à Moïse, dans les Steppes de Moab, près du Jourdain vers Jéricho. Il dit:
51 “Instruct the sons of Israel, and say to them: When you will have crossed over the Jordan, entering into the land of Canaan,	51 "Parle aux Israélites; tu leur diras: Quand vous aurez passé le Jourdain vers le pays de Canaan,
52 destroy all the inhabitants of that land. Break their monuments, and shatter their statues, and lay waste to every exalted thing,	52 vous chasserez devant vous tous les habitants du pays. Vous détruirez leurs images peintes,vous détruirez toutes leurs statues de métal fondu et vous saccagerez tous leurs hauts lieux.
53 cleansing the land and living in it. For I have given it you as a possession,	53 Vous posséderez ce pays et vous y demeurerez, car je vous ai donné ce pays pour domaine.
54 which you shall divide among you by lot. To the greater number you shall give more, and to the lesser number, less. To each one, just as the lot shall fall, so shall the inheritance be distributed. The possession shall be divided by the tribes and families.	54 Vous le partagerez au sort entre vos clans. A celui qui est nombreux vous ferez une plus grandepart d'héritage, à celui qui est moins nombreux vous ferez une plus petite part d'héritage. Là où le sort tomberapour chacun, là sera son domaine. Vous ferez le partage dans vos tribus.
55 But if you are not willing to put to death the inhabitants of the land, those who remain shall be to you like spikes in your eyes and lances in your sides, and they shall be adversaries to you in the land of your habitation.	55 Mais si vous ne chassez pas devant vous les habitants du pays, ceux d'entre eux que vous aurezlaissés deviendront des épines dans vos yeux et des chardons dans vos flancs, ils vous presseront dans le paysque vous habiterez
56 And whatever I had decided to do to them, I will do to you.”	56 et je vous traiterai comme j'avais pensé les traiter."
