Jeremiah 28

1 And it happened in that year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah, the king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, that Hananiah, the son of Azur, the prophet from Gibeon, spoke to me, in the house of the Lord, in the sight of the priests and all the people, saying:	1 In quello stesso anno, nel principio del regno di Sedecia, re di Giuda, nel quinto mese del quarto anno, il profeta Anania, figlio di Azor, di Gabaon, mi disse nella casa del Signore, davanti ai sacerdoti e a tutto il popolo:
2 “Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.	2 « Cosi parla il Signore degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: — Io ho spezzato il giogo del re di Babilonia.
3 There are still two years of days, and then I will cause to be carried back to this place all the vessels of the house of the Lord that Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, took from this place and carried away to Babylon.	3 Ancora due anni, ed io farò riportare in questo luogo tutti i vasi della casa del Signore, che Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia da questo luogo trasportò in Babilonia,
4 And I will return to this place: Jeconiah, the son of Jehoiakim, the king of Judah, and all those taken captive from Judah, who were brought into Babylon, says the Lord. For I will crush the yoke of the king of Babylon.”	4 e farò ritornare in questo luogo Geconia, figlio di Ioachim, re di Giuda, e tutti gli esuli di Giuda che sono andati a Babilonia — dice il Signore — perchè io spezzerò il giogo del re di Babilonia ».
5 And Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Hananiah the prophet, before the eyes of the priests and before the eyes of all the people who were standing in the house of the Lord.	5 Il profeta Geremia rispose al profeta Anania, davanti ai sacerdoti e a tutto il popolo che stava nella casa del Signore.
6 And Jeremiah the prophet said: “Amen, may the Lord accomplish this; may the Lord act upon your words, which you have prophesied, so that the vessels may be carried back to the house of the Lord, and so that all those taken captive may return from Babylon to this place.	6 Disse il profeta Geremia: « Così sia! Cosi faccia il Signore! Il Signore compia le parole della tua profezia in modo che tornino i vasi nella casa del Signore e tutti gli esuli da Babilonia in questo luogo.
7 Yet truly, listen to this word, which I am speaking to your ears and to the ears of all the people.	7 Tuttavia stai a sentire questa parola che io pronunzio per i tuoi orecchi e per gli orecchi di tutto il popolo.
8 The prophets, who were before me and before you, from the beginning, have prophesied over many lands and over great kingdoms, about war, and about affliction, and about famine.	8 I profeti che furono avanti di me o di te, fin da principio, profetarono anch'essi, a molte regioni e a grandi regni, guerre, tribolazioni e fame.
9 The prophet who has predicted peace, if his word will occur, then the prophet will be known as one whom the Lord has sent in truth.”	9 Un profeta che predice la pace sarà riconosciuto per profeta veramente mandato dal Signore, avverato che sia quanto ha detto ». Allora il profeta Anania prese il giogo dal collo del profeta Geremia, e lo spezzò.
10 And Hananiah the prophet took the chain from the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, and he broke it.	10 E Anania disse davanti a tutto il popolo: « Ecco quanto dice il Signore: Così, di qui a due anni, io spezzerò il giogo di Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia dal collo di tutte le nazioni ».
11 And Hananiah spoke in the sight of all the people, saying: “Thus says the Lord: So shall I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, after two years of days, from the neck of all the people.”	11 Allora il profeta Geremia se ne andò per la sua strada. Ma il Signore parlò a Geremia, dopo che il profeta Anania ebbe spezzata la catena dal collo del profeta Geremia, e gli disse:
12 And Jeremiah the prophet went his own way. And after Hananiah the prophet had broken the chain from the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying:	12 « Va a dire ad Anania: Ecco quanto dice il Signore: Hai spezzate le catene di legno, ma vi sostituirai quelle di ferro;
13 “Go, and you shall say to Hananiah: Thus says the Lord: You have broken chains of wood, and so you will make for them chains of iron.	13 perché ecco quanto dice il Signore degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: Ho posto un giogo di ferro sopra il collo di tutte queste nazioni, in modo da farle servire a Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia, e gli serviranno, di più ho assoggettate a lui anche le bestie della terra ».
14 For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: I have placed a yoke of iron on the neck of all these nations, so that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon. And they shall serve him. Moreover, I have given to him even the beasts of the earth.”	14 E il profeta Geremia disse al profeta Anania: « Ascolta, Anania: non ti ha mandato il Signore, e tu hai fatto in modo che questo popolo abbia fiducia nella menzogna.
15 And Jeremiah the prophet said to Hananiah the prophet: “Listen, Hananiah! The Lord has not sent you, and so you have caused this people to trust in a lie.	15 Per questo, cosi parla il Signore: Ecco che io ti caccerò dalla faccia della terra, tu morrai in quest'anno, perchè hai parlato contro il Signore ».
16 For this reason, thus says the Lord: Behold, I will send you away from the face of the earth. This year, you shall die. For you have spoken against the Lord.”	16 E in quell'annó, al settimo mese, moti il profeta Anania.
17 And Hananiah the prophet died in that year, in the seventh month.
