1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:	1 Yahvé parla à Moïse:
2 Say to the sons of Israel: The soul which will have sinned through ignorance, and concerning any of the commandments of the Lord that he instructed not to be done, if anything at all has been done:	2 “Tu diras ceci aux Israélites: Voici les règles concernant les personnes qui auront péché par erreur contre l’un des commandements de Yahvé, lorsqu’ils auront fait quelque chose qui ne doit pas se faire.
3 if the priest, who is anointed, will have sinned, causing the people to commit a transgression, he shall offer to the Lord for his sin an immaculate calf.	3 Si c’est le prêtre qui a péché, le peuple aussi est affecté par sa faute. Il offrira donc pour le péché qu’il a commis un jeune taureau sans défaut: ce sera pour Yahvé une victime pour le péché.
4 And he shall lead it to the door of the tabernacle of the testimony in the sight of the Lord. And he shall place his hand upon its head, and he shall immolate it to the Lord.	4 Il amènera le taureau devant la Tente du Rendez-Vous, devant Yahvé, et il posera sa main sur la tête du taureau; puis il l’égorgera devant Yahvé.
5 Likewise, he shall take from the blood of the calf, carrying it into the tabernacle of the testimony,	5 Le prêtre qui a reçu l’onction prendra du sang du taureau et le portera à l’intérieur de la Tente du Rendez-Vous.
6 and having dipped his finger into the blood, he shall sprinkle it seven times in the sight of the Lord, opposite the veil of the Sanctuary.	6 Il trempera son doigt dans le sang et fera sept fois l’aspersion devant Yahvé, face au rideau du sanctuaire.
7 And he shall place some of the same blood over the horns of the altar of most pleasing incense to the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of the testimony. Then he shall pour out the remainder of the blood at the base of the altar of holocaust at the entrance of the tabernacle.	7 Le prêtre mettra du sang sur les cornes de l’autel des parfums qui est devant Yahvé dans la Tente du Rendez-Vous, et il répandra le reste du sang du taureau au pied de l’autel des holocaustes, à l’entrée de la Tente.
8 And, on behalf of the sin, he shall take the fat of the calf, both that which covers the vital organs and all that is interior,	8 Il enlèvera ensuite toute la graisse du taureau sacrifié pour le péché, la graisse qui enveloppe les entrailles et celle qui y est attachée,
9 the two little kidneys, and the mesh that is on them near the sides, and the fat of the liver with the little kidneys,	9 les deux rognons avec la graisse qui les recouvre et celle qui les entoure, enfin l’enveloppe du foie qu’il détachera près des rognons.
10 just as it is taken from the calf of the sacrifice of peace offerings. And he shall burn them upon the altar of holocaust.	10 Il agira de la même manière que dans les sacrifices de communion: il fera fumer le tout sur l’autel des holocaustes.
11 Yet truly, the skin and all the flesh, with the head and the feet, and the intestines and the dung,	11 Mais la peau du taureau, la chair avec la tête, les jambes, les entrailles et les excréments - le taureau tout entier -
12 and the remainder of the body, he shall carry away, beyond the camp, to the clean place where the ashes are usually poured out. And he shall burn them upon a stack of wood. There, in the place where the ashes have been poured out, they will be burned.	12 on l’emportera hors du camp, à l’endroit où l’on jette les cendres. C’est là qu’il sera brûlé sur un feu de bois.
13 But if all the crowd of Israel will have been ignorant, and through inexperience will have done what is contrary to the commandment of the Lord,	13 Si toute la communauté des Israélites a péché involontairement, s’ils ont commis sans s’en rendre compte l’une de ces choses que Yahvé a défendu de faire,
14 and afterwards shall understand their sin: they shall offer a calf on behalf of their sin, and they shall lead it to the door of the tabernacle.	14 la communauté offrira, dès qu’elle aura pris conscience du péché qu’elle a commis, un jeune taureau en sacrifice pour le péché. On le conduira devant la Tente du Rendez-Vous,
15 And the elders of the people shall place their hands upon its head in the sight of the Lord. And when the calf has been immolated in the sight of the Lord,	15 puis les anciens de la communauté poseront leurs mains sur la tête du taureau, devant Yahvé. Là on égorgera le taureau.
16 the priest who is anointed shall carry some of its blood into the tabernacle of the testimony.	16 Le prêtre qui a reçu l’onction portera du sang du taureau à l’intérieur de la Tente du Rendez-Vous.
17 and he shall dip his finger in it, sprinkling it seven times opposite the veil.	17 Il trempera son doigt dans le sang et fera sept fois l’aspersion devant Yahvé, face au rideau.
18 And he shall place some of the same blood on the horns of the altar, which is in the presence of the Lord in the tabernacle of the testimony. But the remainder of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of holocaust, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony.	18 Il mettra du sang sur les cornes de l’autel qui est devant Yahvé, dans la Tente du Rendez-Vous, et il versera le reste du sang au pied de l’autel des holocaustes qui se trouve à l’entrée de la Tente du Rendez-Vous.
19 And he shall take all its fat and burn it upon the altar,	19 Il enlèvera ensuite toute la graisse du taureau et la fera fumer sur l’autel.
20 doing so with this calf in the same manner as he did before. And while the priest is praying for them, the Lord will forgive them.	20 Il fera pour ce taureau comme pour le taureau immolé pour le péché du prêtre: on agira de la même façon. Le prêtre fera ainsi le rite d’expiation pour le peuple, et il sera pardonné.
21 But the calf itself he shall carry away, beyond the camp, and he shall also burn it, just as with the previous calf, because it is for the sin of the multitude.	21 Il emportera le taureau hors du camp et le brûlera comme le premier taureau: c’est le sacrifice pour le péché de la communauté.
22 If a leader will have sinned, and through ignorance will have done one of the many things which the law of the Lord prohibits,	22 Si un chef a péché, s’il s’est rendu coupable en faisant par erreur une de ces choses que Yahvé son Dieu a défendu de faire,
23 and afterwards he shall understand his sin: he shall offer an immaculate he-goat from among the goats, as a sacrifice to the Lord.	23 il amènera pour son offrande un bouc mâle sans défaut, dès qu’il se sera rendu compte du péché qu’il a commis.
24 And he shall place his hand upon its head. And when he will have immolated it, in the place where the holocaust is usually slain, in the sight of the Lord, because it is for sin,	24 Il posera sa main sur la tête du bouc et l’égorgera à l’endroit où l’on égorge les holocaustes pour Yahvé, car c’est un sacrifice pour le péché.
25 the priest shall dip his finger in the blood of the victim for sin, touching the horns of the altar of holocaust, and pouring out the remainder at its base.	25 Le prêtre prendra avec son doigt du sang de la victime pour le péché, il en mettra sur les cornes de l’autel des holocaustes, et versera le reste du sang au pied de cet autel.
26 Yet truly, the fat he shall burn upon it, just as is usually done with the victims of peace offerings. And the priest shall pray for him and for his sin, and he shall be released from it.	26 Puis il fera fumer toute la graisse sur l’autel, comme on fait pour la graisse des sacrifices de communion. C’est ainsi que le prêtre fera l’expiation du péché pour cet homme, et celui-ci sera pardonné.
27 But if a soul from the people of the land will have sinned through ignorance, so as to have done any of those things that the law of the Lord prohibits, and so commit a transgression,	27 Si quelqu’un du peuple du pays a péché par erreur, s’il s’est rendu coupable en faisant une de ces choses que Yahvé a défendu de faire:
28 and he shall realize his sin: he shall offer an immaculate she-goat.	28 il amènera comme offrande pour le péché qu’il a commis une chèvre, une femelle sans défaut.
29 And he shall place his hand upon the head of the victim which is for sin. And he shall immolate it in the place of the holocaust.	29 Il posera sa main sur la tête de la bête et l’égorgera dans le lieu où l’on offre les holocaustes.
30 And the priest shall take some of the blood with his finger, and touching the horns of the altar of holocaust, he shall pour out the remainder at its base.	30 Le prêtre prendra avec son doigt du sang de la victime; il en mettra sur les cornes de l’autel des holocaustes et versera le reste du sang au pied de cet autel.
31 But taking away all the fat, just as it is usually taken away from the victims of peace offerings, he shall burn it upon the altar as a sweet odor to the Lord. And he shall pray for him, and he shall be released from it.	31 Il enlèvera toute la graisse, comme on le fait dans le sacrifice de communion, et le prêtre la fera fumer sur l’autel, comme agréable odeur pour Yahvé. C’est ainsi que le prêtre fera l’expiation pour cet homme, et celui-ci sera pardonné.
32 But if instead he will offer from the flock a victim for his sin, specifically, an immaculate female sheep:	32 S’il amène une jeune brebis en sacrifice pour le péché, il prendra une femelle sans défaut.
33 he shall place his hand upon its head, and he shall immolate it in the place where the victims of holocausts are usually slain.	33 Il posera sa main sur la tête de la bête et l’égorgera en sacrifice pour le péché à l’endroit où l’on immole les holocaustes.
34 And the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger, and touching the horns of the altar of holocaust, he shall pour out the remainder at its base.	34 Le prêtre prendra avec son doigt du sang de la victime, il en mettra sur les cornes de l’autel des holocaustes et il versera le reste du sang au pied de cet autel.
35 Likewise, all of the fat shall be taken away, just as the fat of the ram, which is immolated for peace offerings, is usually taken away. And he shall burn it upon the altar as an incense of the Lord. And he shall pray for him and for his sin, and he shall be released from it.	35 Il enlèvera toute la graisse comme on enlève la graisse de l’agneau dans le sacrifice de communion. Le prêtre la fera fumer sur l’autel par-dessus les sacrifices par le feu pour Yahvé. C’est ainsi que le prêtre fera l’expiation pour cet homme, pour le péché qu’il a commis, et cet homme sera pardonné.
