Isaiah 64

1 I wish that you would rend the heavens, and then descend! The mountains would flow away before your face.	1 Avessimo grato che tu rompessi li cieli, e iscendessi giuso; che li monti si movessono per la tua faccia,
2 They would melt, as if thoroughly burned by fire. The waters would burn with fire, so that your name might be made known to your enemies, so that the nations would be stirred up before your face.	2 e diventasseno niente come l'arsione del fuoco, e il fuoco ardesse loro, acciò che si facesse manifesto lo tuo nome alli tuoi nimici, e che le genti si turbassono per la tua faccia (cioè per paura).
3 When you will perform miracles, we will not be able to withstand them. You descended, and the mountains flowed away before your presence.	3 E conciosia cosa che tu faccia le maraviglie, noi non ti sosterremo; tu iscendesti, e li monti iscorsono dalla tua faccia.
4 From ages past, they have not heard it, and they have not perceived it with the ears. Apart from you, O God, the eye has not seen what you have prepared for those who await you.	4 Mai non fu udito, e non si ricevette mai in orecchie; e occhio non vidde sanza te quello che tu, Signore, apparecchiasti a quelli che ti aspettano, (cioè quelli che hanno speranza in te).
5 You have met with those who rejoice in doing justice. By your ways, they will remember you. Behold, you have been angry, for we have sinned. In this, we have continued, but we will be saved.	5 Tu venisti contro a quelli che se ne rallegra e che fa la giustizia; egli si ricorderanno di te nelle tue vie (cioè nelle tue opere); ecco tu se' adirato, e noi peccammo; e fummo sempre nelli peccati, e pure ci salveremo.
6 And we have all become like the unclean. And all our justices are like a rag of menstruation. And we have all fallen away, like a leaf. And our iniquities have carried us away, like the wind.	6 E siamo fatti sì come l'uomo brutto tutti noi; e come lo panno della donna che hae partorito, così sono le nostre giustizie; e tutti cademmo come foglie, e le nostre iniquitadi tolsono noi come uno vento.
7 There is no one who calls upon your name, who rises up and holds fast to you. You have concealed your face from us, and you have crushed us with the hand of our own iniquity.	7 E non è chi chiami lo tuo nome, e chi si levi e tenga te; tu nascondesti la tua faccia da noi, e percotesti noi nella mano della nostra malvagitade.
8 And now, O Lord, you are our Father, yet truly, we are clay. And you are our Maker, and we are all the works of your hands.	8 E ora, Signore, tu se' lo nostro padre, e noi siamo loto; e tu se' nostro facitore, e tutti siamo opera delle tue mani.
9 Do not be so angry, O Lord, and no longer call to mind our iniquity. Behold, consider that we are all your people.	9 O Signore, non ti adirare assai, e non ti ricordare più delle nostre malvagitadi; ecco, Signore, ragguarda noi, per ciò che siamo tutti il popolo tuo.
10 The city of your sanctuary has become a desert. Zion has become a desert. Jerusalem is desolate.	10 La tua cittade santa sì è fatta deserta; Sion è fatta deserta; è desolata Ierusalem.
11 The house of our sanctification and of our glory, where our fathers praised you, has been completely consumed by fire, and all our admirable things have been turned into ruins.	11 E la casa della nostra santificazione sì è desolata, e quella della nostra gloria, dove li nostri padri diedono laude a te; e quello luogo venne alle mani del fuoco, e tutte le nostre cose desiderabili sono rivolte in rovine.
12 Should you restrain yourself, O Lord, concerning these things? Should you remain silent, and afflict us vehemently?	12 Signore, contenerai tu te sopra tutte queste cose, o tacerai tu? (istando così) darai tu così forte afflizione a noi?
