Psalms 42

1 A Psalm of David. Judge me, O God, and discern my cause from that of a nation not holy; rescue me from a man unjust and deceitful.	1 Salmo di Davidde. Fammi ragione, o Signore, e prendi in mano la causa mia: liberami da una nazione non santa, dall'uomo iniquo, e ingannatore.
2 For you are God, my strength. Why have you rejected me? And why do I walk in sadness, while the adversary afflicts me?	2 Perocché tu sei, o Dio, la mia fortezza: perché mi hai tu rigettato, e perché son io contristato, mentre mi affligge il nimico?
3 Send forth your light and your truth. They have guided me and led me, to your holy mountain and into your tabernacles.	3 Fa spuntare la tua luce, e la tua verità: elleno mi stradino, e mi conducano al tuo monte santo, e a' tuoi tabernacoli.
4 And I will enter, up to the altar of God, to God who enlivens my youthfulness. To you, O God, my God, I will confess upon a stringed instrument.	4 E mi accosterò all'altare di Dio, a Dio, il quale da letizia alla mia giovinezza.
5 Why are you sad, my soul? And why do you disquiet me? Hope in God, for I will still give praise to him: the salvation of my countenance and my God.	5 Te io loderò sulla cetra, Dio, Dio mio: e perché, o anima mia, se' tu nella tristezza, e perché mi conturbi? Spera in Dio; imperocché ancora canterò le lodi di lui, salute della mia faccia, e Dio mio.
