1 A Canticle Psalm. In dedication to the house of David.	1 - Salmo di David. Cantico per la dedicazione della casa [di Dio].
2 I will extol you, Lord, for you have sustained me, and you have not allowed my enemies to delight over me.	2 T'esalto, o Signore, perché m'hai protettoe non hai lasciato che i miei nemici si rallegrassero di me.
3 O Lord my God, I have cried out to you, and you have healed me.	3 Signore, mio Dio, io ho gridato a te, e tu m'hai risanato.
4 Lord, you led my soul away from Hell. You have saved me from those who descend into the pit.	4 Signore, tu hai tratto fuor dagli Inferi l'anima mia, m'hai salvato di tra coloro che scendon nella fossa.
5 Sing a psalm to the Lord, you his saints, and confess with remembrance of his holiness.	5 Inneggiate al Signore voi, suoi fedeli, e celebrate la sua santa memoria.
6 For wrath is in his indignation, and life is in his will. Toward evening, weeping will linger, and toward morning, gladness.	6 Perchè il suo sdegno dura un momento, il suo favore una vita [intera]! La sera alberga [tra noi] il pianto, e il mattino la gioia.
7 But I have said in my abundance: “I will never be disturbed.”	7 Io dicevo nella mia prosperità:«Non barcollerò in eterno!».
8 O Lord, in your will, you made virtue preferable to beauty for me. You turned your face away from me, and I became disturbed.	8 Tu, o Signore, con il tuo favore, avevi dato al mio decoro altezza: rivolgesti da me la tua faccia, e fui sconvolto!
9 To you, Lord, I will cry out. And I will make supplication to my God.	9 [Io dissi allora]: «A te, o Signore, volgo il mio grido, e al mio Dio inalzo la preghiera.
10 What use would there be in my blood, if I descend into corruption? Will dust confess to you or announce your truth?	10 Qual vantaggio [per te] nel sangue mio, se io scendo nella corruzione [della tomba]? Forsechè ti loderà la polvere e celebrerà la tua fedeltà?».
11 The Lord has heard, and he has been merciful to me. The Lord has become my helper.	11 Ascoltò il Signore ed ebbe pietà di me, il Signore mi venne in aiuto.
12 You have turned my mourning into gladness for me. You have cut off my sackcloth, and you have surrounded me with joy.	12 Hai mutato il mio cordoglio in gioia per me, hai stracciato il mio [lugubre] sacco e m'hai cinto d'allegrezza,
13 So then, may my glory sing to you, and may I not regret it. O Lord, my God, I will confess to you for eternity.	13 perchè inneggi a te la mia gloria e io non resti desolato. Signore, mio Dio, ti loderò in eterno!
