CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAINLXX
Unto the end. A Psalm of David.1 εις το τελος τω δαυιδ ψαλμος ο θεος την αινεσιν μου μη παρασιωπησης
O God, do not be silent toward my praise, for the mouth of the sinner and the mouth of the deceitful one have been opened against me.2 οτι στομα αμαρτωλου και στομα δολιου επ' εμε ηνοιχθη ελαλησαν κατ' εμου γλωσση δολια
They have spoken against me with deceitful tongues, and they have surrounded me with hateful words, and they fought against me over nothing.3 και λογοις μισους εκυκλωσαν με και επολεμησαν με δωρεαν
Instead of choosing to act on my behalf, they detracted me. But I gave myself to prayer.4 αντι του αγαπαν με ενδιεβαλλον με εγω δε προσευχομην
And they set evil against me, instead of good, and hatred, in return for my love.5 και εθεντο κατ' εμου κακα αντι αγαθων και μισος αντι της αγαπησεως μου
Establish the sinner over him, and let the devil stand at his right hand.6 καταστησον επ' αυτον αμαρτωλον και διαβολος στητω εκ δεξιων αυτου
When he is judged, may he go forth in condemnation, and may his prayer be counted as sin.7 εν τω κρινεσθαι αυτον εξελθοι καταδεδικασμενος και η προσευχη αυτου γενεσθω εις αμαρτιαν
May his days be few, and let another take his episcopate.8 γενηθητωσαν αι ημεραι αυτου ολιγαι και την επισκοπην αυτου λαβοι ετερος
May his sons be orphans, and his wife a widow.9 γενηθητωσαν οι υιοι αυτου ορφανοι και η γυνη αυτου χηρα
May his sons be carried by those who walk unsteadily, and may they go begging. And may they be cast out of their dwelling places.10 σαλευομενοι μεταναστητωσαν οι υιοι αυτου και επαιτησατωσαν εκβληθητωσαν εκ των οικοπεδων αυτων
May the money lenders scrutinize all his belongings, and let foreigners plunder his labors.11 εξερευνησατω δανειστης παντα οσα υπαρχει αυτω διαρπασατωσαν αλλοτριοι τους πονους αυτου
May there be no one to assist him, nor anyone to be compassionate to his orphaned children.12 μη υπαρξατω αυτω αντιλημπτωρ μηδε γενηθητω οικτιρμων τοις ορφανοις αυτου
May his posterity be in utter ruin. In one generation, may his name be wiped away.13 γενηθητω τα τεκνα αυτου εις εξολεθρευσιν εν γενεα μια εξαλειφθητω το ονομα αυτου
May the iniquity of his fathers return in memory before the sight of the Lord, and do not let the sin of his mother be wiped away.14 αναμνησθειη η ανομια των πατερων αυτου εναντι κυριου και η αμαρτια της μητρος αυτου μη εξαλειφθειη
May these be opposite the Lord always, but let their memory perish from the earth.15 γενηθητωσαν εναντι κυριου δια παντος και εξολεθρευθειη εκ γης το μνημοσυνον αυτων
For certain things are not remembered about them, in order to be merciful.16 ανθ' ων ουκ εμνησθη του ποιησαι ελεος και κατεδιωξεν ανθρωπον πενητα και πτωχον και κατανενυγμενον τη καρδια του θανατωσαι
And so the destitute man was pursued, with the beggar and the remorseful in heart, so as to be put to death.17 και ηγαπησεν καταραν και ηξει αυτω και ουκ ηθελησεν ευλογιαν και μακρυνθησεται απ' αυτου
And he loved a curse, and it came to him. And he was unwilling to have a blessing, and it went far from him. And he clothed himself with curses like a garment, and it entered his inner self like water, and it entered his bones like oil.18 και ενεδυσατο καταραν ως ιματιον και εισηλθεν ως υδωρ εις τα εγκατα αυτου και ωσει ελαιον εν τοις οστεοις αυτου
May it be to him like a garment that covers him, and like a belt that always cinches him.19 γενηθητω αυτω ως ιματιον ο περιβαλλεται και ωσει ζωνη ην δια παντος περιζωννυται
This is the work of those who detract me with the Lord and who speak evils against my soul.20 τουτο το εργον των ενδιαβαλλοντων με παρα κυριου και των λαλουντων πονηρα κατα της ψυχης μου
But as for you, Lord, O Lord: act on my behalf for your name’s sake. For your mercy is sweet.21 και συ κυριε κυριε ποιησον μετ' εμου ελεος ενεκεν του ονοματος σου οτι χρηστον το ελεος σου
Free me, for I am destitute and poor, and my heart has been disquieted within me.22 ρυσαι με οτι πτωχος και πενης εγω ειμι και η καρδια μου τεταρακται εντος μου
I have been taken away like a shadow when it declines, and I have been shaken off like locusts.23 ωσει σκια εν τω εκκλιναι αυτην αντανηρεθην εξετιναχθην ωσει ακριδες
My knees have been weakened by fasting, and my flesh has been replaced by oil.24 τα γονατα μου ησθενησαν απο νηστειας και η σαρξ μου ηλλοιωθη δι' ελαιον
And I have become a disgrace to them. They saw me, and they shook their heads.25 και εγω εγενηθην ονειδος αυτοις ειδοσαν με εσαλευσαν κεφαλας αυτων
Help me, O Lord, my God. Save me according to your mercy.26 βοηθησον μοι κυριε ο θεος μου σωσον με κατα το ελεος σου
And let them know that this is your hand, and that you, O Lord, have done this.27 και γνωτωσαν οτι η χειρ σου αυτη και συ κυριε εποιησας αυτην
They will curse, and you will bless. May those who rise up against me be confounded. But your servant will rejoice.28 καταρασονται αυτοι και συ ευλογησεις οι επανιστανομενοι μοι αισχυνθητωσαν ο δε δουλος σου ευφρανθησεται
May those who detract me be clothed with shame, and may they be covered with their confusion, as if with a double cloak.29 ενδυσασθωσαν οι ενδιαβαλλοντες με εντροπην και περιβαλεσθωσαν ωσει διπλοιδα αισχυνην αυτων
I will confess exceedingly to the Lord with my mouth. And I will praise him in the midst of the multitude.30 εξομολογησομαι τω κυριω σφοδρα εν τω στοματι μου και εν μεσω πολλων αινεσω αυτον
For he stands at the right hand of the poor, in order to save my soul from persecutors.31 οτι παρεστη εκ δεξιων πενητος του σωσαι εκ των καταδιωκοντων την ψυχην μου
