2 How long will you speak this way, so that the words of your mouth are like a changeable wind?	2 Infino a quando proferirai tali ragionamenti, E saranno le parole della tua bocca come un vento impetuoso?
3 Does God supplant judgment, or does the Almighty subvert that which is just?	3 Iddio pervertirebbe egli il giudicio? L’Onnipotente pervertirebbe egli la giustizia?
4 And if now your children have sinned against him, and he has dismissed them into the power of their iniquity,	4 Se i tuoi figliuoli hanno peccato contro a lui, Egli altresì li ha dati in mano del lor misfatto.
5 even so, you should arise early to God, so as to beseech the Almighty.	5 Ma quant’è a te, se tu ricerchi Iddio, E chiedi grazia all’Onnipotente;
6 If you approach with purity and honesty, he will quickly be attentive to you, and a peaceful life will repay your righteousness,	6 Se tu sei puro e diritto, Certamente egli si risveglierà di presente in favor tuo, E farà prosperare il tuo giusto abitacolo.
7 so much so that, if your former things were small, your latter things would be multiplied greatly.	7 E la tua condizione di prima sarà stata piccola, E l’ultima diventerà grandissima
8 For inquire of the earliest generation, and investigate diligently the history of the fathers,	8 Perciocchè domanda pur le età primiere, E disponti ad informarti da’ padri loro;
9 (of course, we are but of yesterday and are ignorant that our days on earth are like a shadow,)	9 Imperocchè, quant’è a noi, siamo sol da ieri in qua, E non abbiamo intendimento; Perchè i nostri giorni son come un’ombra sopra la terra;
10 and they will teach you; they will speak with you and will offer you the eloquence of their hearts.	10 Non insegnerannoti essi, e non parlerannoti, E non trarranno essi fuori ragionamenti dal cuor loro?
11 Can the marsh plant live without moisture? Or can sedges grow without water?	11 Il giunco sorgerà egli senza pantano? L’erba de’ prati crescerà ella senz’acqua?
12 When it is still in flower, and has not been pulled up by hand, it withers before all other plants.	12 E pure, mentre è ancor verde, e non è ancora segata, Si secca avanti ogni altra erba.
13 Just so are the ways of all who forget God, and the hope of the hypocrite will perish.	13 Tali son le vie di tutti quelli che dimenticano Iddio, E così perirà la speranza dell’ipocrita;
14 His frenzy will not please him, and his faith will be like a spider’s web.	14 La cui speranza sarà troncata, E la cui confidanza sarà una casa di ragnolo.
15 He will lean on his house, and it will not stand; he will prop it up, but it will not rise.	15 Egli si appoggerà in su la casa sua, ma quella non istarà ferma; Egli si atterrà ad essa, ma ella non istarà in piè.
16 He seems to have moisture before the sun arrives; and at sunrise, his sprout shoots forth.	16 Egli è verdeggiante al sole, E i suoi rami si spandono fuori in sul giardino, nel quale è piantato;
17 His roots will crowd together over a heap of stones, and among the stones he will remain.	17 Le sue radici s’intralciano presso alla fonte, Egli mira la casa di pietra.
18 If someone is devoured right beside him, he will deny him and will say: “I do not know you.”	18 Ma, se alcuno lo manderà in ruina, divellendolo dal luogo suo, Questo lo rinnegherà dicendo: Io non ti vidi giammai.
19 For this is the benefit of his way, that others in turn may spring up from the earth.	19 Ecco, tale è l’allegrezza della sua via, E dalla polvere ne germoglieranno altri
20 God will not discard the simple, nor will he extend his hand to the spiteful,	20 Ecco, Iddio non disdegna l’uomo intiero; Ma altresì non presta la mano a’ maligni.
21 even until your mouth is filled with laughter and your lips with rejoicing.	21 Ancora empierà egli la tua bocca di riso, E le tue labbra di giubilo.
22 Those who hate you, will be clothed with confusion, and the tabernacle of the impious will not continue.	22 Quelli che ti odiano saranno vestiti di vergogna; Ma il tabernacolo degli empi non sarà più
