Tobit 14

1 And the sermon of Tobit was completed. And after Tobit received his sight, he lived forty-two years, and he saw the sons of his grandchildren.	1 E finirono i sermoni di Tobia. E vivette, poi ch' egli fue ralluminato, quarantadue anni; e vidde i figliuoli delli suoi nepoti.
2 And so, having completed one hundred and two years, he was buried honorably at Nineveh.	2 E da poi ch' egli ebbe vivuto cento due anni, fu seppellito nella città di Ninive onorevolmente.
3 For he was fifty-six years old, when he lost the light of his eyes, and he was sixty years old, when he truly received it again.	3 Certo egli perdè il lume de' suoi occhii nel cinquantasei anno della sua etade; e già avea sessanta anni, quando egli riebbe il lume.
4 And, in truth, the remainder of his life was in gladness. And so, with the good accomplishment of the fear of God, he departed in peace.	4 Tutto l'altro tempo della sua vita fu con letizia, e con buono profitto di timore di Dio, e morì in pace.
5 But, in the hour of his death, he called to himself his son Tobias, along with his sons, the seven youths who were his grandsons, and he said to them:	5 E nell' ora della sua morte chiamò a sè Tobia suo figliuolo, e sette giovani suoi figliuoli, e disse loro:
6 “Nineveh will pass away soon. For the word of the Lord goes forward, and our brothers, who have been dispersed away from the land of Israel, shall return to it.	6 Egli s' appressa il tempo della distruzione di Ninive; certo la parola di Dio non viene meno; e i nostri fratelli, che sono dispersi della terra d' Israel, torneranno a lei.
7 Thus its deserted land will be entirely filled again. And the house of God, which was burned like incense within it, will be rebuilt again. And all those who fear God will return there.	7 E tutta la sua terra deserta si riempirà, e la casa di Dio, che si arse, un' altra volta si riedificherà; e ivi torneranno tutti quelli che temono Iddio.
8 And the Gentiles will relinquish their idols, and they will enter into Jerusalem, and they will dwell in it.	8 E le genti lasceranno i loro idoli; e verranno in Ierusalem, e abiteranno ivi dentro.
9 And all the kings of the earth will rejoice in it, adoring the King of Israel.	9 E tutti i re della terra si rallegreranno in lei, adorando il re d' Israel.
10 Therefore, my sons, listen to your father. Serve the Lord in truth, and seek to do the things that please him.	10 Adunque, figliuoli miei, udite il vostro padre: servite a Dio in veritade, e investigate acciò che voi facciate le cose che a lui piacciono.
11 And command your sons, so that they may accomplish justice and almsgiving, and so that they may be mindful of God and may bless him at all times, in truth and with all their strength.	11 E comandate a' vostri figliuoli, che facciano giustizie ed elemosine, acciò che si ricordino di Dio, e benedicano lui in ogni tempo, in veritade e in tutta la loro virtude.
12 And now, sons, listen to me, and do not remain here. But, on whatever day you will bury your mother near me in one sepulcher, from that time, direct your steps to leave this place.	12 Adunque, figliuoli miei, ora mi udite, e non dimorate qui; ma in qualunque di voi seppellirete la vostra madre a lato a me in uno sepolcro, incontanente vi partite quinci.
13 For I see that its iniquity will bring about its end.”	13 Imperciò ch' io veggio che la iniquitade di questa cittade le darà fine.
14 And it happened that, after the death of his mother, Tobias withdrew from Nineveh, with his wife, and sons, and sons of sons, and he was returned to his father-in-law.	14 E così venne [che] Tobia, dopo la morte della sua madre, si partì da Ninive. con la moglie sua, e coi figliuoli e colli figliuoli de' suoi figliuoli; e tornossi alli suoi suoceri.
15 And he found them unharmed in a good old age. And he took care of them, and he closed their eyes. And all the inheritance of the house of Raguel passed to him. And he saw the sons of his sons to the fifth generation.	15 E trovolli sani e salvi in buona vecchiezza; e portossi bene di loro, ed egli chiuse i suoi occhii; ed (egli) ebbe tutta la eredità della casa di Raguel, e vidde insino alla quinta generazione i figliuoli dei suoi figliuoli.
16 And, having completed ninety-nine years in the fear of the Lord, with joy, they buried him.	16 E poi ch' ebbe compiuto novantanove anni nel timore di Dio, con gaudio egli fu seppellito
17 But all his family and all his lineage continued with a good life and in holy conversation, so that they were acceptable both to God and to men, as well as to everyone who dwelt in the land.	17 da tutto il suo parentado. E tutta la sua generazione perseveroe in santa e buona vita, in tal modo ch' egli fu grazioso a Dio e agli uomini e a tutti gli abitatori della terra.
