Galatians 5

NEW JERUSALEM	Біблія
1 Christ set us free, so that we should remain free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be fastenedagain to the yoke of slavery.	1 Христос нас визволив на те, щоб ми були свобідні. Тож стійте і під кормигу рабства не піддавайтеся знову.
2 I, Paul, give you my word that if you accept circumcision, Christ wil be of no benefit to you at al .	2 Ось я, Павло, кажу вам, що коли ви обрізуєтеся, Христос вам ні в чому не допоможе.
3 I give my assurance once again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is under obligation tokeep the whole Law;	3 Свідчу знову кожному, хто обрізується: Він мусить увесь закон чинити.
4 once you seek to be reckoned as upright through the Law, then you have separated yourself fromChrist, you have fal en away from grace.	4 Ви, що шукаєте в законі оправдання, від Христа відлучилися, від благодаті ви відпали.
5 We are led by the Spirit to wait in the confident hope of saving justice through faith,	5 Ми бо духом з віри очікуємо надії оправдання,
6 since in Christ Jesus it is not being circumcised or being uncircumcised that can effect anything -- onlyfaith working through love.	6 бо у Христі Ісусі нічого не означають ні обрізання, ні необрізання, але — віра, чинна любов’ю.
7 You began your race wel ; who came to obstruct you and stop you obeying the truth?	7 Ви бігли добре. Хто ж то вам став на перешкоді, що ви правді не повинуєтеся?
8 It was certainly not any prompting from him who called you!	8 Це переконання не від того, хто вас кличе.
9 A pinch of yeast ferments the whole batch.	9 Трохи закваски квасить усе тісто.
10 But I feel sure that, united in the Lord, you wil not be led astray, and that anyone who makes troublewith you will be condemned, no matter who he is.	10 Я певний в Господі, що ви не матимете інших думок; а хто заколочує вас, буде засуджений, хто б він не був.
11 And I, brothers -- if I were stil preaching circumcision, why should I still be persecuted? For then theobstacle which is the cross would have no point any more.	11 Я ж, брати, коли ще проповідую обрізання, то чого мене ще гонять? Отже, кінець отій соблазні, що від хреста!
12 I could wish that those who are unsettling you would go further and mutilate themselves.	12 Коли б то вже зовсім покалічили себе ті, що заколот у вас зчиняють!
13 After al , brothers, you were called to be free; do not use your freedom as an opening for self-indulgence, but be servants to one another in love,	13 Ви бо, брати, покликані до свободи; аби тільки свобода ваша не стала приводом до тілесности; але любов’ю служіть один одному.
14 since the whole of the Law is summarised in the one commandment: You must love your neighbour asyourself.	14 Увесь бо закон міститься у цій одній заповіді: «Люби ближнього твого, як себе самого.»
15 If you go snapping at one another and tearing one another to pieces, take care: you will be eaten up byone another.	15 Коли ж ви між собою гризетеся та їсте один одного, вважайте, щоб один одного не знищили!
16 Instead, I tel you, be guided by the Spirit, and you wil no longer yield to self-indulgence.	16 Знову кажу: Духом ходіте, і тіла пожадливостей не будете чинити;
17 The desires of self-indulgence are always in opposition to the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are inopposition to self-indulgence: they are opposites, one against the other; that is how you are prevented fromdoing the things that you want to.	17 бо тіло пожадає проти духа, і дух пожадає проти тіла. Вони суперечать одне одному, так що ви не можете робити того, що хотіли б.
18 But when you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.	18 А коли дух вас водить, то ви не під законом.
19 When self-indulgence is at work the results are obvious: sexual vice, impurity, and sensuality,	19 Учинки ж тіла явні: розпуста, нечистота, розгнузданість,
20 the worship of false gods and sorcery; antagonisms and rivalry, jealousy, bad temper and quarrels,disagreements,	20 ідолослужба, чари, ворогування, свари, заздрість, гнів, суперечки, незгоди, єресі,
21 factions and malice, drunkenness, orgies and al such things. And about these, I tel you now as I havetold you in the past, that people who behave in these ways wil not inherit the kingdom of God.	21 зависті, пияцтво, гульня і таке інше, про що я вас попереджаю, — як я вже й раніше казав, що ті, що таке чинять, царства Божого не успадкують.
22 On the other hand the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trustfulness,	22 А плід Духа: любов, радість, мир, довготерпіння, лагідність, доброта, вірність,
23 gentleness and self-control; no law can touch such things as these.	23 тихість, здержливість. На тих то нема закону.
24 All who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified self with al its passions and its desires.	24 Ті ж, що є Ісус-Христові, розп’яли тіло з його пристрастями та пожадливостями.
25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let our behaviour be guided by the Spirit	25 І коли ми живемо духом, то духом і ходімо.
26 and let us not be conceited or provocative and envious of one another.	26 Не будьмо марнославні, задерикуваті між собою, завидущі одні одним.
