NEW JERUSALEM	Biblia Tysiąclecia
1 And now once again a great crowd had gathered, and they had nothing to eat. So he cal ed hisdisciples to him and said to them,	1 W owym czasie, gdy znowu wielki tłum był z Nim i nie mieli co jeść, przywołał do siebie uczniów i rzekł im:
2 'I feel sorry for al these people; they have been with me for three days now and have nothing to eat.	2 żal mi tego tłumu, bo już trzy dni trwają przy Mnie, a nie mają co jeść.
3 If I send them off home hungry they wil col apse on the way; some have come a great distance.'	3 A jeśli ich puszczę zgłodniałych do domu, zasłabną w drodze; bo niektórzy z nich przyszli z daleka.
4 His disciples replied, 'Where could anyone get these people enough bread to eat in a deserted place?'	4 Odpowiedzieli uczniowie: Skąd tu na pustkowiu będzie mógł ktoś nakarmić ich chlebem?
5 He asked them, 'How many loaves have you?' And they said to him, 'Seven.'	5 Zapytał ich: Ile macie chlebów? Odpowiedzieli: Siedem.
6 Then he instructed the crowd to sit down on the ground, and he took the seven loaves, and after givingthanks he broke them and began handing them to his disciples to distribute; and they distributed them amongthe crowd.	6 I polecił ludowi usiąść na ziemi. A wziąwszy siedem chlebów, odmówił dziękczynienie, połamał i dawał uczniom, aby je rozdzielali. I rozdali tłumowi.
7 They had a few smal fishes as wel , and over these he said a blessing and ordered them to bedistributed too.	7 Mieli też kilka rybek. I nad tymi odmówił błogosławieństwo i polecił je rozdać.
8 They ate as much as they wanted, and they col ected seven basketfuls of the scraps left over.	8 Jedli do sytości, a pozostałych ułomków zebrali siedem koszów.
9 Now there had been about four thousand people. He sent them away	9 Było zaś około czterech tysięcy ludzi. Potem ich odprawił.
10 and at once, getting into the boat with his disciples, went to the region of Dalmanutha.	10 Zaraz też wsiadł z uczniami do łodzi i przybył w okolice Dalmanuty.
11 The Pharisees came up and started a discussion with him; they demanded of him a sign from heaven,to put him to the test.	11 Nadeszli faryzeusze i zaczęli rozprawiać z Nim, a chcąc wystawić Go na próbę, domagali się od Niego znaku.
12 And with a profound sigh he said, 'Why does this generation demand a sign? In truth I tel you, no signshall be given to this generation.'	12 On zaś westchnął głęboko w duszy i rzekł: Czemu to plemię domaga się znaku? Zaprawdę powiadam wam: żaden znak nie będzie dany temu plemieniu.
13 And, leaving them again, he re-embarked and went away to the other side.	13 I zostawiwszy ich, wsiadł z powrotem do łodzi i odpłynął na drugą stronę.
14 The disciples had forgotten to take any bread and they had only one loaf with them in the boat.	14 A uczniowie zapomnieli wziąć chlebów i tylko jeden mieli z sobą w łodzi.
15 Then he gave them this warning, 'Keep your eyes open; look out for the yeast of the Pharisees andthe yeast of Herod.'	15 Wtedy im przykazał: Uważajcie, strzeżcie się kwasu faryzeuszów i kwasu Heroda.
16 And they said to one another, 'It is because we have no bread.'	16 Oni zaczęli rozprawiać między sobą o tym, że nie mają chleba.
17 And Jesus knew it, and he said to them, 'Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you stil notunderstand, stil not realise? Are your minds closed?	17 Jezus zauważył to i rzekł im: Czemu rozprawiacie o tym, że nie macie chleba? Jeszcze nie pojmujecie i nie rozumiecie, tak otępiały macie umysł?
18 Have you eyes and do not see, ears and do not hear? Or do you not remember?	18 Macie oczy, a nie widzicie; macie uszy, a nie słyszycie? Nie pamiętacie, ile zebraliście koszów pełnych ułomków,
19 When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of scraps did you col ect?'They answered, 'Twelve.'	19 kiedy połamałem pięć chlebów dla pięciu tysięcy? Odpowiedzieli Mu: Dwanaście.
20 'And when I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many baskets ful of scraps did youcol ect?' And they answered, 'Seven.'	20 A kiedy połamałem siedem chlebów dla czterech tysięcy, ile zebraliście koszów pełnych ułomków? Odpowiedzieli: Siedem.
21 Then he said to them, 'Do you still not realise?'	21 I rzekł im: Jeszcze nie rozumiecie?
22 They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought to him a blind man whom they begged him totouch.	22 Potem przyszli do Betsaidy. Tam przyprowadzili Mu niewidomego i prosili, żeby się go dotknął.
23 He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the vil age. Then, putting spittle on his eyesand laying his hands on him, he asked, 'Can you see anything?'	23 On ujął niewidomego za rękę i wyprowadził go poza wieś. Zwilżył mu oczy śliną, położył na niego ręce i zapytał: Czy widzisz co?
24 The man, who was beginning to see, replied, 'I can see people; they look like trees as they walkaround.'	24 A gdy przejrzał, powiedział: Widzę ludzi, bo gdy chodzą, dostrzegam ich niby drzewa.
25 Then he laid his hands on the man's eyes again and he saw clearly; he was cured, and he could seeeverything plainly and distinctly.	25 Potem znowu położył ręce na jego oczy. I przejrzał /on/ zupełnie, i został uzdrowiony; wszystko widział teraz jasno i wyraźnie.
26 And Jesus sent him home, saying, 'Do not even go into the vil age.'	26 Jezus odesłał go do domu ze słowami: Tylko do wsi nie wstępuj.
27 Jesus and his disciples left for the vil ages round Caesarea Philippi. On the way he put this question tohis disciples, 'Who do people say I am?'	27 Potem Jezus udał się ze swoimi uczniami do wiosek pod Cezareą Filipową. W drodze pytał uczniów: Za kogo uważają Mnie ludzie?
28 And they told him, 'John the Baptist, others Elijah, others again, one of the prophets.'	28 Oni Mu odpowiedzieli: Za Jana Chrzciciela, inni za Eliasza, jeszcze inni za jednego z proroków.
29 'But you,' he asked them, 'who do you say I am?' Peter spoke up and said to him, 'You are the Christ.'	29 On ich zapytał: A wy za kogo mnie uważacie? Odpowiedział Mu Piotr: Ty jesteś Mesjasz.
30 And he gave them strict orders not to tell anyone about him.	30 Wtedy surowo im przykazał, żeby nikomu o Nim nie mówili.
31 Then he began to teach them that the Son of man was destined to suffer grievously, and to berejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and to be put to death, and after three days to riseagain;	31 I zaczął ich pouczać, że Syn Człowieczy musi wiele cierpieć, że będzie odrzucony przez starszych, arcykapłanów i uczonych w Piśmie; że będzie zabity, ale po trzech dniach zmartwychwstanie.
32 and he said all this quite openly. Then, taking him aside, Peter tried to rebuke him.	32 A mówił zupełnie otwarcie te słowa. Wtedy Piotr wziął Go na bok i zaczął Go upominać.
33 But, turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said to him, 'Get behind me, Satan! Youare thinking not as God thinks, but as human beings do.'	33 Lecz On obrócił się i patrząc na swych uczniów, zgromił Piotra słowami: Zejdź Mi z oczu, szatanie, bo nie myślisz o tym, co Boże, ale o tym, co ludzkie.
34 He called the people and his disciples to him and said, 'If anyone wants to be a fol ower of mine, lethim renounce himself and take up his cross and follow me.	34 Potem przywołał do siebie tłum razem ze swoimi uczniami i rzekł im: Jeśli kto chce pójść za Mną, niech się zaprze samego siebie, niech weźmie krzyż swój i niech Mnie naśladuje!
35 Anyone who wants to save his life wil lose it; but anyone who loses his life for my sake, and for thesake of the gospel, wil save it.	35 Bo kto chce zachować swoje życie, straci je; a kto straci swe życie z powodu Mnie i Ewangelii, zachowa je.
36 What gain, then, is it for anyone to win the whole world and forfeit his life?	36 Cóż bowiem za korzyść stanowi dla człowieka zyskać świat cały, a swoją duszę utracić?
37 And indeed what can anyone offer in exchange for his life?	37 Bo cóż może dać człowiek w zamian za swoją duszę?
38 For if anyone in this sinful and adulterous generation is ashamed of me and of my words, the Son ofman wil also be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.'	38 Kto się bowiem Mnie i słów moich zawstydzi przed tym pokoleniem wiarołomnym i grzesznym, tego Syn Człowieczy wstydzić się będzie, gdy przyjdzie w chwale Ojca swojego razem z aniołami świętymi.
