Ezekiel 14

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 Next, some elders of Israel visited me and while they were sitting with me,	1 E vennero a me uomini delli antichi d' Israel, e sederono inanzi a me.
2 the word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	2 E disse Iddio a me:
3 'Son of man, these men have enshrined their foul idols in their hearts and placed the cause of theirsinning right before their eyes. Why should I let myself be consulted by them?	3 O figliuolo d'uomo, questi hanno posto le loro immondizie nelli loro cuori, e ordinarono e puosono lo scandalo della loro iniquitade contro alla faccia loro or s' io sarò domandato, risponderò a loro?
4 So speak to them; tel them this, "Lord Yahweh says this: Every member of the House of Israel whoenshrines his foul idols in his heart and places the cause of his sinning right before his eyes, and who thenapproaches the prophet, wil get this answer from me, Yahweh, as the multiplicity of his idols deserves,	4 E perciò parla, e dirai a loro: questo dice lo Signore Iddio: l' uomo l'uomo (cioè ciascuno uomo) della casa d' Israel, che averà posto la immondizia nel suo cuore, e lo scandalo della sua iniquitade contro alla faccia sua, e verrà al profeta domandando per lui a me, io Signore risponderò a lui nella moltitudine delle sue brutture,
5 and in this way I hope to win back the hearts of the House of Israel who have al been estranged fromme by their foul idols."	5 acciò che la casa d' Israel sia presa nel suo cuore, col quale si partio da me con tutti i suoi idoli.
6 'So say to the House of Israel, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Come back, turn away from your foulidols, turn your backs on al your loathsome practices;	6 Però di' alla casa d' Israel: questo dice lo Signore Iddio: convertitevi, e partitevi dalli vostri idoli; e da tutte le contaminazioni vostre rivolgete le vostre facce.
7 for if any member of the House of Israel -- or any foreigner living in Israel -- deserts me to enshrine hisfoul idols in his heart and places the cause of his sinning right before his eyes and then approaches a prophet toconsult me through him, he will get his answer from me, Yahweh.	7 Però che ciascuno uomo della casa d' Israel, e de' proseliti qualunque sarà forestiere in Israel, se sarà rimosso da me, e averà posto li suoi idoli nel suo cuore, [e lo scandalo della sua iniquitade] contro alla faccia sua, e sarà venuto al profeta domandando per lui a me; io Signore risponderò a lui per me.
8 I shal set my face against that person; I shall make him an example and a byword; I shal rid mypeople of him, and you wil know that I am Yahweh.	8 E porrò la mia faccia sopra quello uomo, e farollo in esemplo e in proverbio, e dispergerò lui del mezzo del popolo mio; e saprete ch' io sono lo Signore.
9 And if the prophet is seduced into saying something, I, Yahweh, shall have seduced that prophet; Ishall point my finger at him and rid my people Israel of him.	9 E lo profeta quando averà errato, e averà parlato la parola; io Signore ingannerò quello profeta, e distenderò la mia mano sopra lui, e ispegnerollo del mezzo del popolo mio Israel.
10 Both wil be punished for their guilt; the prophet's punishment wil be the same as that of the personwho consults him,	10 E porterà la sua iniquitade; secondo la iniquità di colui che addimanderà, così sarà la iniquità del profeta,
11 so that the House of Israel wil never stray from me again or defile themselves again with thesecrimes, but be my people and I their God -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '	11 acciò che la casa d' Israel non erri più da me, e non si corrompa in tutte le sue prevaricazioni, ma sia mio popolo, e io sia loro Iddio; così disse lo Signore delli esèrciti.
12 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me:	12 E disse Iddio a me:
13 'Son of man, when a country sins against me by being unfaithful and I point my finger at it anddestroy its supply of food, inflicting famine on it and denuding it of human and animal,	13 Figliuolo d' uomo, quando la terra averà peccato a me, acciò che lo prevaricante prevarichi, io distenderò la mia mano sopra lei, e romperò la verga del suo pane, e metterò in lei fame, e ucciderò di lei l' uomo e lo giumento.
14 even if the three men, Noah, Danel and Job, were living in it, they would save no one but themselvesby their uprightness -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	14 E se saranno questi tre uomini nel mezzo di lei, cioè Noè, Daniel e Iob, loro nella loro giustizia liberaranno le anime loro, dice lo Signore delli esèrciti.
15 Were I to unleash wild beasts on that country to rob it of its children and reduce it to a desert whichno one would dare to cross because of the animals,	15 E se io menerò bestie pessime sopra la terra acciò che la guastino, e sarà nella via, per che non è chi vi passi per paura delle bestie;
16 even if these three men were living there, as I live -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- they would not beable to save either son or daughter; they alone would be saved, and the country would become a desert.	16 e questi tre uomini (vi passino, e) siano in quella via; io vivo, dice Iddio, però che loro non liberaranno nè i figliuoli nè le figliuole, ma loro soli saranno liberati, e la terra sarà desolata.
17 Were I to bring the sword down on that country and say, "Sword, cross the country!" so as to denude it of human and animal,	17 O vero se vi manderò lo coltello sopra quella terra, e dirò allo coltello: passa per quella, e ucciderò nella terra uomini e giumenti;
18 even if these three men were living there, as I live -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- they would not beable to save either son or daughter; they alone would be saved.	18 e questi tre uomini siano nel mezzo di lei; io vivo, dice Iddio, ch' elli non liberaranno nè figliuoli nè figliuole, ma loro soli saranno liberati.
19 If I were to send the plague on that country and vent my fury on it by bloodshed, so as to denude it ofhuman and animal,	19 E s'io vi metterò pestilenza sopra di quella terra, e spargerò la mia indignazione sopra quella con sangue, per torre di lei uomini e giumenti;
20 even if Noah and Danel and Job were living there, as I live -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- they wouldbe able to save neither son nor daughter, only themselves by their uprightness.	20 e sì vi sarà dentro Daniello, Noè, Iob; io vivo, dice Iddio, che non liberaranno nè figliuoli nè figliuole; ma loro liberaranno nella sua giustizia le anime loro.
21 'The Lord Yahweh says this, "Even if I send my four dreadful scourges on Jerusalem-sword, famine,wild beasts and plague -- to denude it of human and animal,	21 Però [che] questo dice lo Signore Iddio: però ch' io metterò (in Ierusalem) questi quattro pessimi giudicii, cioè coltello e fame (e fiere) e male bestie e pestilenza in Ierusalem, acciò che uccidano in Ierusalem uomo e bestia;
22 even so, there wil be a remnant left, a few men and women who come through; when they come toyou and you see their conduct and actions, you wil take comfort in spite of the disaster which I have brought onJerusalem, in spite of al I have brought on her.	22 ma pure vi si lascerà salvamento di quelli che nutricano li figliuoli e le figliuole; ecco che loro usciranno fuori a voi, e vedrete le loro vie e i loro trovamenti; e consoleretevi sopra lo male ch' io mandai sopra Ierusalem, in tutti quelli ch' io portai sopra quella.
23 They will comfort you, when you see their conduct and actions, and so you wil know that I have notdone in vain al I have done to her -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '	23 E consolerannosi sopra voi, quando averete veduto la via loro e i loro trovamenti, (cioè che aveano fatto tanto male e tante noie, che non saranno mai veduti nè uditi, e però non increscerà);
