NEW JERUSALEM	Біблія
1 The words of Yahweh that were addressed to the prophet Jeremiah against the nations.	1 Слово, що надійшло до пророка Єремії про народи.
2 On Egypt. Against the army of Pharaoh Necho king of Egypt, which was at Carchemish on the RiverEuphrates when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon defeated it in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, kingof Judah.	2 Про Єгипет. Про військо фараона Нехо, єгипетського царя, яке стояло на Ефрат-ріці під Каркемішем, яке побив Навуходоносор, цар вавилонський, на четвертому році Йоакима, сина Йосії, юдейського царя:
3 Buckler and shield at the ready! Onward to battle!	3 «Готуйте щити малі й великі. Вперед до бою!
4 Harness the horses: into the saddle, horsemen! To your ranks! On with your helmets! Sharpen yourspears, put on your breastplates!	4 Сідлайте коні! Верхівці — на коні! Ставайте в лави, шоломоносці! Чистіть списи, вдягайтеся в броню!
5 Why do I see them retreating, panic-stricken? Their heroes, beaten back, are fleeing headlong, with nota look behind. Terror on every side, Yahweh declares!	5 Та що це я бачу? Вони в тривозі назад сахаються! Їхні лицарі побиті, утікають. Страх звідусіль, — слово Господнє.
6 No flight for the swift, no escape for the strong! Up in the north on the River Euphrates, they havecol apsed, have fal en.	6 Та бистроногий не втече, не врятується й лицар: на півночі коло Ефрату вони спотикнулися й упали.
7 Who was it rose like the Nile, his waters foaming like a torrent?	7 Хто це здіймається, неначе Ніл, води якого, мов потоки, розбуялись?
8 Why, Egypt rose like the Nile, his waters foaming like a torrent. 'I shal rise', he said, 'and drown theearth; sweep away town and its inhabitants!	8 Єгипет підіймається, неначе Ніл, води якого, мов струмені, розбурхались.Він каже: Підіймусь, окрию землю, знищу міста й їхніх мешканців!
9 Charge, horses! Forward, chariots! Let the warriors advance, men from Cush and Put with shield inhand, men from Lud who bend the bow!'	9 Кидайтесь, коні, летіте колісниці! Вояки, виступайте з Кушу й Путу, озброєні щитами, і ви, лідійці, з натягнутим луком!
10 For this is the Day of Lord Yahweh Sabaoth, a day of vengeance when he takes revenge on his foes:the sword wil devour until gorged, until drunk with their blood, for Lord Yahweh Sabaoth is holding a sacrificialfeast in the land of the north, on the River Euphrates.	10 Цей день для Господа, Бога сил — день відплати, щоб воздати ворогам. Меч буде жерти, насититься й уп’ється їхньою кров’ю. Це жертва Господеві, Богові сил, у північній землі, коло ріки Ефрату.
11 Go up to Gilead and fetch balm, virgin daughter of Egypt! You multiply remedies in vain, nothing cancure you!	11 Іди в Гілеад, візьми бальзаму, єгипетська дочко-дівице! Та шкода тобі добирати ліків: нічим рани своєї не загоїш!
12 The nations have heard of your shame, your wailing fil s the world, for warrior has stumbled againstwarrior, and both have fal en together.	12 Довідались народи про твій сором, і плач твій виповнив землю! Бо воїн об воїна спотикнувся, та й полягли обидва разом.»
13 The word that came from Yahweh to the prophet Jeremiah when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylonadvanced to attack Egypt.	13 Слово, що сказав Господь пророкові Єремії про прихід Навуходоносора, царя вавилонського, щоб ударити на Єгипетську землю:
14 Publish it in Egypt, proclaim it in Migdol, proclaim it in Noph and Tahpanhes! Say, 'Stand your ground,be prepared, for the sword is devouring al round you!'	14 «Оповістіть про це в Єгипті й проголосіть у Мігдолі, звістіть у Нофі і в Тафнісі. Скажіте: Шикуйсь, готуйсь, бо меч пожирає все навкруги тебе.
15 Why has Apis fled? Why has your Mighty One not stood firm? Why, Yahweh has overturned him,	15 Чого втікає Апіс? Твій бик не встояв? Бо Господь повалив його.
16 he has caused many to fal ! Fal ing over one another, they say, 'Up, and back to our own people, tothe country where we were born, away from the devastating sword!'	16 І збірне військо похитнулось, і падали один на одного, примовлявши: Вставаймо, повертаймось до нашого народу, у нашу рідну землю, далеко від згубного меча!
17 They have given Pharaoh king of Egypt the nickname, 'Much-noise-but-he-lets-the-chance-slip-by'!	17 Прозвіть царя єгипетського, фараона, так: Гармидер після втраченого часу!
18 As I live, the King declares, whose name is Yahweh Sabaoth, he is coming, a very Tabor amongmountains, a Carmel high above the sea!	18 Як живу я, — слово Царя, Господь сил йому ім’я, — як Тавор перебуває серед гір, а Кармель над морем, так певно й те, що він прийде.
19 Get your bundle ready for exile, fair inhabitant of Egypt! Noph will be reduced to a desert, desolate,uninhabited.	19 Готуй собі на виселення клунки, дочко єгипетська, що так єси осілась добре! Бо Ноф стане пустинею і, спалений, обезлюдніє.
20 Egypt was a splendid heifer, but a gadfly from the north has settled on her.	20 Єгипет — телиця вельми гарна, але з півночі ґедз налетів на неї.
21 The mercenaries she had with her, these too were like fattened calves: but they too have taken totheir heels, have al run away, not held their ground, for their day of disaster has overtaken them, their time forbeing punished.	21 Та й найманці його, що немов годовані телята, — ба й вони теж назад сахаються, втікають поголовно, встоятись не спроможні, бо й на них прийшла лиха година, час їхньої кари,
22 Hear her hissing like a snake as they advance in force to fal on her with their axes, like woodcutters,	22 Ось слухайте! Сичить щось, неначе гадюка. Приходять з військом, із сокирами на нього нападають, мов дроворуби.
23 they wil fell her forest, Yahweh declares, however impenetrable it was for they are more numerousthan locusts, there is no counting them.	23 Рубайте його ліс, — слово Господнє, — бо він непрохідний! Їх більш, ніж сарани, і ліку їм немає.
24 The daughter of Egypt is put to shame, handed over to a people from the north.	24 Покрилася соромом єгипетська дочка, віддано її північному народові в руки.
25 Yahweh Sabaoth, God of Israel, has said, 'Look, I shal punish Amon of No, Pharaoh, Egypt, its gods,its kings, Pharaoh and those who put their trust in him.	25 Господь сил, Бог Ізраїля, говорить: Я покараю Аммона у Но, фараона й Єгипет з його богами і з його царями, а й з тими, що на нього уповають.
26 I shal hand him over to those who are determined to kil him, to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, tohis generals. But afterwards, Egypt wil be inhabited again as in the past, Yahweh declares.	26 Я видам їх у руки тим, які пантрують на їхнє життя, у руки Навуходоносорові, цареві вавилонському, й у руки рабам його. Аж потім Єгипет буде заселений, як за давніх днів, — слово Господнє.
27 But do not be afraid, my servant Jacob, Israel, do not be alarmed: for look, I shal rescue you fromafar and your descendants from the country where they are captive. Jacob wil return and be at peace, secure,with no one to trouble him.	27 Ти ж не бійсь, Якове, слуго мій, і не лякайсь, Ізраїлю! Врятую бо тебе з земель далеких, твоїх потомків — із краю їхньої неволі, і Яків повернеться й житиме спокійно та безпечно, тож ніхто не буде більш його страхати.
28 Do not be afraid, my servant Jacob, Yahweh declares, for I am with you: I shal make an end of al thenations where I have driven you, but I shal not make an end of you, I shal discipline you only as you deserve,not leaving you quite unpunished.	28 Не бійся, Якове, мій рабе, — слово Господнє, — бо я з тобою. Я вигладжу усі народи, що проміж них тебе розкинув. Тебе ж не загладжу. Я покараю тебе, але по правді, — без кари тебе не зоставлю.»
