NEW JERUSALEM	Biblija Hrvatski
1 Be in no hurry to speak; do not hastily declare yourself before God; for God is in heaven, you on earth.Be sparing, then, of speech:	1 Ne nagli ustima svojim i ne žuri se s riječima pred Bogom, jer je Bog na nebu, a ti si na zemlji; zato štedi svoje riječi.
2 From too much worrying comes illusion, from too much talking, the accents of fol y.	2 San dolazi od mnogih briga, a lud govor od mnoštva riječi.
3 If you make a vow to God, discharge it without delay, for God has no love for fools. Discharge your vow.	3 Kad zavjetuješ štogod Bogu, odmah to izvrši, jer njemu nisu mili bezumnici. Zato ispuni svaki svoj zavjet.
4 Better a vow unmade than made and not discharged.	4 Bolje je ne zavjetovati nego zavjetovati a ne izvršiti zavjeta.
5 Do not al ow your mouth to make a sinner of you, and do not say to the messenger that it was amistake. Why give God occasion to be angry with you and ruin al the work that you have done?	5 Ne daj ustima svojim da te navode na grijeh i ne reci kasnije pred anđelom da je bilo nehotice. Zašto pružati Bogu priliku da se srdi na riječ tvoju i uništi djelo tvojih ruku?
6 From too many illusions come futility and too much talk. Therefore, fear God.	6 Koliko sanja, toliko i ispraznosti; mnogo riječi – isprazna tlapnja. Zato boj se Boga.
7 If in a province you see the poor oppressed, fair judgement and justice violated, do not be surprised, forover every official there watches a higher official, and over these, higher officials stil .	7 Ako vidiš gdje tlače siromaha i gaze pravo i pravicu u zemlji, ne čudi se tomu, jer nad visokim straži viši, a nad njim najviši.
8 But what the land yields is for the benefit of al , a king is served by the fields.	8 Korist zemlje je nada sve; i kralj ovisi o zemljištu.
9 No one who loves money ever has enough, no one who loves luxury has any income; this, too, is futile.	9 Tko novce ljubi, nikad ih dosta nema; tko bogatstvo ljubi, nikad mu dosta probitka. I to je ispraznost.
10 Where goods abound, parasites abound: where is the owner's profit, apart from feasting his eyes?	10 Gdje je mnogo bogatstva, mnogo je i gotovana, pa kakva je korist od toga gospodaru, osim što ga očima gleda?
11 The labourer's sleep is sweet, whether he has eaten little or much, but the surfeit of the rich wil not lethim sleep at al .	11 Sladak je dan radiši, jeo malo ili mnogo, dok bogatstvo ne da bogatašu zaspati.
12 Something grossly unjust I observe under the sun: riches stored and turning to loss for their owner.	12 I vidjeh teško zlo pod suncem: skupljeno blago što je na propast svojemu vlasniku.
13 An unlucky venture, and those riches are lost; a son is born to him, and he has nothing to leave him.	13 Jer zlom nezgodom propadne takvo bogatstvo te sinu što mu se rodi ne ostane ništa.
14 Naked from his mother's womb he came; as naked as he came wil he depart; not one of hisachievements can he take with him.	14 Gol je izašao iz utrobe majke svoje i tako će gol i otići kakav je i došao; ništa nema od svega svojeg truda da ponese.
15 And something else grossly unjust: that as he came, so must he go; what profit can he show aftertoiling to earn the wind,	15 I to je teško zlo što tako odlazi kako je i došao; pa kakva mu je korist što se u vjetar mučio.
16 as he spends the rest of his days in darkness, mourning, many sorrows, sickness and exasperation.	16 Sve svoje dane živi u tami, nevolji, brizi, bolesti i srdžbi.
17 So my conclusion is this: true happiness lies in eating and drinking and enjoying whatever has beenachieved under the sun, throughout the life given by God: for this is the lot of humanity.	17 Ovo, stoga, zaključujem: prava je sreća čovjeku jesti i piti i biti zadovoljan sa svim svojim trudom kojim se muči pod suncem za kratka vijeka koji mu je dao Bog, jer takva mu je sudbina dosuđena.
18 And whenever God gives someone riches and property, with the ability to enjoy them and to findcontentment in work, this is a gift from God.	18 Pa ako je čovjeku Bog dao bogatstvo i imanje da ih uživa i bude zadovoljan svojim djelom – i to je dar od Boga.
19 For such a person wil hardly notice the passing of time, so long as God keeps his heart occupied withjoy.	19 Jer tada barem ne misli mnogo na dane svog života, kad mu Bog daje da mu se srce veseli.
