Proverbs 12

1 Whoever loves discipline, loves knowledge, stupid are those who hate correction.	1 Кто любит наставление, тот любит знание; а кто ненавидит обличение, тот невежда.
2 The honest obtains Yahweh's favour, the schemer incurs his condemnation.	2 Добрый приобретает благоволение от Господа; а человека коварного Он осудит.
3 No one is made secure by wickedness, but nothing shakes the roots of the upright.	3 Не утвердит себя человек беззаконием; корень же праведников неподвижен.
4 A capable wife, her husband's crown, a shameless wife, a cancer in his bones.	4 Добродетельная жена--венец для мужа своего; а позорная--как гниль в костях его.
5 The plans of the upright are honest, the intrigues of the wicked are full of deceit.	5 Промышления праведных--правда, а замыслы нечестивых--коварство.
6 The words of the wicked are snares to shed blood, what the honest say keeps them safe.	6 Речи нечестивых--засада для пролития крови, уста же праведных спасают их.
7 Once thrown down, the wicked are no more, but the house of the upright stands firm.	7 Коснись нечестивых несчастие--и нет их, а дом праведных стоит.
8 Prudence wins praise, but a tortuous heart incurs only contempt.	8 Хвалят человека по мере разума его, а развращенный сердцем будет в презрении.
9 Better a common fel ow who has a slave than someone who gives himself airs and has nothing to eat.	9 Лучше простой, но работающий на себя, нежели выдающий себя за знатного, но нуждающийся в хлебе.
10 The upright has compassion on his animals, but the heart of the wicked is ruthless.	10 Праведный печется и о жизни скота своего, сердце же нечестивых жестоко.
11 Whoever works his land shall have bread and to spare, but no one who chases fantasies has anysense.	11 Кто возделывает землю свою, тот будет насыщаться хлебом; а кто идет по следам празднолюбцев, тот скудоумен.
12 The godless delights in the snare of the wicked, but the root of the upright bears fruit.	12 Нечестивый желает уловить в сеть зла; но корень праведных тверд.
13 In the sin of the lips lies a disastrous trap, but the upright finds a way out of misfortune.	13 Нечестивый уловляется грехами уст своих; но праведник выйдет из беды.
14 Abundance of good things is the fruit of the lips; labour brings its own return.	14 От плода уст [своих] человек насыщается добром, и воздаяние человеку--по делам рук его.
15 Fools think the way they go is straight, the wise listens to advice.	15 Путь глупого прямой в его глазах; но кто слушает совета, тот мудр.
16 The fool shows anger straightaway, the discreet conceals dislike.	16 У глупого тотчас же выкажется гнев его, а благоразумный скрывает оскорбление.
17 To tel the truth is to further justice, a false witness is nothing but deceit.	17 Кто говорит то, что знает, тот говорит правду; а у свидетеля ложного--обман.
18 Thoughtless words can wound like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.	18 Иной пустослов уязвляет как мечом, а язык мудрых--врачует.
19 Sincere lips endure for ever, the lying tongue lasts only a moment.	19 Уста правдивые вечно пребывают, а лживый язык--только на мгновение.
20 Deceit is in the heart of the schemer, joy with those who give counsels of peace.	20 Коварство--в сердце злоумышленников, радость--у миротворцев.
21 No harm can come to the upright, but the wicked are swamped by misfortunes.	21 Не приключится праведнику никакого зла, нечестивые же будут преисполнены зол.
22 Lying lips are abhorrent to Yahweh; dear to him those who make truth their way of life.	22 Мерзость пред Господом--уста лживые, а говорящие истину благоугодны Ему.
23 The discreet keeps knowledge hidden, the heart of fools proclaims their folly.	23 Человек рассудительный скрывает знание, а сердце глупых высказывает глупость.
24 For the diligent hand, authority; for the slack hand, forced labour.	24 Рука прилежных будет господствовать, а ленивая будет под данью.
25 Worry makes a heart heavy, a kindly word makes it glad.	25 Тоска на сердце человека подавляет его, а доброе слово развеселяет его.
26 The upright shows the way to a friend; the way of the wicked leads them astray.	26 Праведник указывает ближнему своему путь, а путь нечестивых вводит их в заблуждение.
27 The idle has no game to roast; diligence is anyone's most precious possession.	27 Ленивый не жарит своей дичи; а имущество человека прилежного многоценно.
28 In the way of uprightness is life, the ways of the vengeful lead to death.	28 На пути правды--жизнь, и на стезе ее нет смерти.
