1 [For the choirmaster Tune: 'The decrees are lilies' Of Asaph Psalm] Shepherd of Israel, listen, you wholead Joseph like a flock, enthroned on the winged creatures, shine forth	1 In fine, [per li] torculari, (nel dì del sabbato).
2 over Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh; rouse your valour and come to our help.	2 Rallegratevi in Dio, nostro aiutore; giubilate al Dio di Iacob.
3 God, bring us back, let your face shine on us and we shall be safe.	3 Prendete il salmo, e date il timpano; il salterio giocondo con la citara.
4 Yahweh, God Sabaoth, how long wil you flare up at your people's prayer?	4 Risuonate la tuba nella luna nuova, nel preclaro dì della vostra festività.
5 You have made tears their food, redoubled tears their drink.	5 Però che egli è comandamento in Israel, e giudicio a Dio di Iacob.
6 You let our neighbours quarrel over us, our enemies mock us.	6 Pose quello in testimonio di Iosef, quando usciva della terra di Egitto; udì la lingua, che non avea conosciuto.
7 God Sabaoth, bring us back, let your face shine on us and we shall be safe.	7 Riparò le sue spalle dalli carichi; le sue mani servirono alli vasi.
8 You brought a vine out of Egypt, to plant it you drove out nations;	8 Chiamastimi nella tribulazione, e liberai te; nella nascosta tempesta ti provai; [ti provai] appo l'acqua della contradizione.
9 you cleared a space for it, it took root and fil ed the whole country.	9 Odimi popolo mio, e io sarò per te; Israel, se tu mi udirai, in te non sarà Iddio nuovo, e non adorerai iddio estraneo.
10 The mountains were covered with its shade, and the cedars of God with its branches,	10 Certo io sono il Signore Iddio tuo, che ti trassi fuori della terra di Egitto; apri la tua bocca, ed empierolla.
11 its boughs stretched as far as the sea, its shoots as far as the River.	11 E il mio popolo non ha udita la voce mia; e Israel non ha inteso a me.
12 Why have you broken down its fences? Every passer-by plucks its grapes,	12 E holli lasciati secondo li desiderii del loro cuore; e andarono come piacque loro.
13 boars from the forest tear at it, wild beasts feed on it.	13 Se il mio popolo mi avesse udito, se Israel fosse andato nelle mie vie,
14 God Sabaoth, come back, we pray, look down from heaven and see, visit this vine;	14 forse per poco [i loro] nemici avrei umiliati, e posta la mano sopra loro tribulanti.
15 protect what your own hand has planted.	15 Li nemici del Signore hanno a lui mentito; e loro tempo sempre sarà.
16 They have thrown it on the fire like dung, the frown of your rebuke wil destroy them.	16 E pascetteli della midolla di frumento; e della pietra gli satollò di miele.
17 May your hand protect those at your side, the child of Adam you have strengthened for yourself!
18 Never again wil we turn away from you, give us life and we will cal upon your name.
19 God Sabaoth, bring us back, let your face shine on us and we shal be safe.
