Ezekiel 5

1 As for you, son of man, take a sharp sword and use it like a barber's razor, passing it over your head and beard. Then take a set of scales and divide the hair you have cut.	1 «Сину чоловічий! Візьми собі гострого меча, як голярську бритву; візьми його й проведи ним по голові й по підборідді твоїм. Потім візьми вагу й поділи волосся.
2 Burn a third in the fire, within the city, when the days of your siege are completed; place another third around the city and strike it with the sword; the final third strew in the wind, and pursue it with the sword.	2 Третину спалиш на вогні посеред міста, як сповняться дні облоги; другу третину візьмеш і покришиш її мечем навкруги міста; останню ж третину розвієш вітром, і я добуду меча з піхви позад нього.
3 (But of the last take a small number and tie them in the hem of your garment.	3 Візьмеш з того волосся трохи й зав’яжеш його в полу твоєї одежі.
4 Then take some of these and throw them in the midst of the fire and burn them.) Say to the whole house of Israel:	4 А з цього ще візьмеш (трохи) і вкинеш у вогонь і спалиш його у вогні. З нього спалахне вогонь на ввесь дім Ізраїля. Ти скажеш до всього дому Ізраїля:
5 Thus says the Lord GOD: This is Jerusalem! In the midst of the nations I placed her, surrounded by foreign countries.	5 Так говорить Господь Бог: Ось Єрусалим! Я поставив його посеред народів і навкруги нього країни.
6 But she rebelled against my ordinances more wickedly than the nations, and against my statutes more than the foreign countries surrounding her; she has spurned my ordinances and has not lived by my statutes.	6 Він же збунтувався проти моїх законів з більшою безбожністю, ніж погани, та проти моїх установ гірш, ніж країни навкруги нього, бо вони відкинули мої закони й за моїми установами не ходили.
7 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you have been more rebellious than the nations surrounding you, not living by my statutes nor fulfilling my ordinances, but acting according to the ordinances of the surrounding nations;	7 Тим же то так говорить Господь Бог: Тому, що ви бунтуєтесь більш від поган, що навкруги вас, за установами моїми не ходите, законів моїх не виконуєте, ба й законів поган, що навкруги вас, не виконуєте,
8 therefore thus says the Lord GOD: See, I am coming at you! I will inflict punishments in your midst while the nations look on.	8 тому ось що говорить Господь Бог: Ось я так само проти тебе: я виконаю проти тебе мій суд перед очима народів.
9 Because of all your abominations I will do with you what I have never done before, the like of which I will never do again.	9 Учиню з тобою таке, чого не чинив іще ніколи й чого ніколи не чинитиму більше, — за всі твої мерзоти.
10 This means that fathers within you shall eat sons, and sons shall eat fathers. I will inflict punishments upon you and scatter all that remain of your people in every direction.	10 Тому батьки посеред тебе їстимуть власних дітей, а діти їстимуть своїх батьків. Я вчиню над тобою суд, я пущу ввесь останок твій на всі вітри.
11 Therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, because you have defiled my sanctuary with all your detestable abominations, I swear to cut you down. I will not look upon you with pity nor have mercy.	11 Тому — клянусь, як от живу я, — слово Господа Бога: За те, що ти осквернив мою святиню всіма гидотами твоїми й усіма мерзотами твоїми, я теж відкину тебе, і моє око не пожалує, і я не матиму милосердя.
12 A third of your people shall die of pestilence and perish of hunger within you; another third shall fall by the sword all around you; and a third I will scatter in every direction, and I will pursue them with the sword.	12 Третина в тебе вимре від чуми й загине з голоду посеред тебе; третина поляже від меча навколо тебе, останню ж третину я пущу на всі вітри й добуду меча з піхви позад них.
13 Thus shall my anger spend itself, and I will wreak my fury upon them till I am appeased; they shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken in my jealousy when I spend my fury upon them.	13 Так довершиться гнів мій і вгамується моя на них досада, і я помщуся. Тоді зрозуміють, що то я, Господь, говорив у моїй горливості, як довершиться над ними моя досада.
14 I will make you a waste and a reproach among the nations that surround you, which every passer-by may see.	14 Я вчиню з тебе пустку й наругу між народами, що навкруги тебе, і перед очима всіх перехожих.
15 When I execute judgment upon you in anger and fury and with furious chastisements, you shall be a reproach and an object of scorn, a terrible warning to the nations that surround you. I, the LORD, have spoken!	15 Ти будеш наругою й посміховищем, пересторогою й жахом для народів, що навколо тебе, як я вчиню над тобою суд у гніві й досаді й у лютих карах, — це я, Господь, виповів це;
16 When I loose against you the cruel, destructive arrows of hunger, I will break your staff of bread;	16 як пошлю згубні стріли голоднечі вам на погибель, бо я їх пошлю, щоб вас погубити, накину на вас голод і понищу в вас запаси хліба.
17 I will send famine against you, and wild beasts that shall rob you of your children. Pestilence and bloodshed shall stalk through you, and I will bring the sword upon you. I, the LORD, have spoken!	17 Пошлю на вас голоднечу й лютого звіря, що позбавить тебе дітей. Чума й кров завітають до тебе, і я наведу меч на тебе. Я, Господь, сказав це.»
