1 LORD, avenging God, avenging God, shine forth!	1 О Боже, відплати, Господи; о Боже, відплати, явися в сяйві!
2 Rise up, judge of the earth; give the proud what they deserve.	2 Встань, судде землі, відплати гордим по заслузі!
3 How long, LORD, shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked glory?	3 Доки безбожні, Господи, доки безбожні будуть торжествувати?
4 How long will they mouth haughty speeches, go on boasting, all these evildoers?	4 Доки будуть базікати, нахабно теревенити і вихвалятись усі, що творять беззаконня?
5 They crush your people, LORD, torment your very own.	5 Топчуть, о Господи, народ твій, гноблять твою спадщину.
6 They kill the widow and alien; the fatherless they murder.	6 Удовицю й захожого вбивають, та й сиріт зводять зо світу.
7 They say, "The LORD does not see; the God of Jacob takes no notice."	7 І кажуть: «Господь не бачить, Бог Якова не примічає».
8 Understand, you stupid people! You fools, when will you be wise?	8 Збагніть, дурні в народі! Безглузді, коли вам розум проясниться?
9 Does the one who shaped the ear not hear? The one who formed the eye not see?	9 Чи ж той, хто насадив вухо, не чує? Хто око створив, — не бачить?
10 Does the one who guides nations not rebuke? The one who teaches humans not have knowledge?	10 Той, що повчає народи, не буде карати? Він, що навчає розумну людину?
11 The LORD does know human plans; they are only puffs of air.	11 Господь знає думки людини, що вони марні.
12 Happy those whom you guide, LORD, whom you teach by your instruction.	12 Щасливий чоловік, Господи, що його перестерігаєш і у твоїм законі навчаєш,
13 You give them rest from evil days, while a pit is being dug for the wicked.	13 щоб дати йому спокій за лихої години, поки викопується грішникові яма.
14 You, LORD, will not forsake your people, nor abandon your very own.	14 Господь свого народу не відкине і спадщини своєї не полишить.
15 Judgment shall again be just, and all the upright of heart will follow it.	15 Бо право повернеться до правди, і всі щирі серцем стоятимуть за нею.
16 Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will stand up for me against evildoers?	16 Хто встане за мене проти злісних, заступиться за мене проти злочинців?
17 If the LORD were not my help, I would long have been silent in the grave.	17 Якби Господь та не прийшов мені на допомогу, ще трохи, і моя душа жила б у мовчанні.
18 When I say, "My foot is slipping," your love, LORD, holds me up.	18 Коли я кажу: «Хитається нога моя», — ласка твоя, о Господи, підтримує мене.
19 When cares increase within me, your comfort gives me joy.	19 Коли сила турбот у моїм серці, — твої втіхи розвеселяють мою душу.
20 Can unjust judges be your allies, those who create burdens in the name of law,	20 Чи ж може бути в тебе спілка з престолом погибелі, що коїть зло під виглядом закону?
21 Those who conspire against the just and condemn the innocent to death?	21 Вони збираються проти душі праведника, засуджують кров неповинну.
22 No, the LORD is my secure height, my God, the rock where I find refuge,	22 Але Господь — мій захист, мій Бог — скеля прибіжища мого.
23 Who will turn back their evil upon them and destroy them for their wickedness. Surely the LORD our God will destroy them!	23 Він наведе на них їхню безбожність, в їх власній злобі їх погубить, — погубить їх Господь, Бог наш.
