1 After Rehoboam had consolidated his rule and had become powerful, he abandoned the law of the LORD, he and all Israel with him.	1 Ed essendo fortificato il regno di Roboam e confortato, abbandonò la legge del Signore, e tutto Israel con esso lui.
2 Thus it happened that in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, Shishak, king of Egypt, attacked Jerusalem, for they had been unfaithful to the LORD.	2 Nel quinto anno del regno di Roboam ascendè Sesac re d'Egitto in Ierusalem; però che aveano peccato al Signore;
3 He came up with twelve hundred chariots and sixty thousand horsemen, and there was no counting the army that came with him from Egypt--Libyans, Sukkites and Ethiopians.	3 con mille ducento carra, e con LX migliara di cavalieri; e del popolo, il quale era andato con lui d' Egitto, non era numero, cioè gente di Libia e Trogloditi e di Etiopia.
4 They captured the fortified cities of Judah and came as far as Jerusalem.	4 E prese le città fortissime in Giuda, e vènnessene insino in Ierusalem.
5 Then Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the commanders of Judah who had gathered at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them: "Thus says the LORD: 'You have abandoned me, and therefore I have abandoned you to the power of Shishak.'"	5 E Semeia profeta entrò a Roboam e a' prìncipi di Giuda, i quali erano congregati in Ierusalem, fuggendo Sesac, e disse loro: questo dice il Signore : voi avete lasciato me, e io hoe lasciato voi nelle mani di Sesac.
6 However, the commanders of Israel and the king humbled themselves saying, "The LORD is just."	6 E isbigottiti il re e i principi, dissero: il Signore è giusto.
7 When the LORD saw that they had humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah: "Because they have humbled themselves, I will not destroy them; I will give them some deliverance, and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem through Shishak.	7 E veggendo il Signore ch' erano umiliati, fu fatta la parola di Dio a Semeia (profeta), e disse: però ch' egli sono umiliati, non gli dissiperò, ma darò loro uno poco d' aiuto, e non istillarò il mio furore sopra Ierusalem per mano di Sesac.
8 But they shall be his servants, that they may know what it is to serve me and what it is to serve earthly kingdoms."	8 Ma pure serviranno a lui, acciò che sappiano la distanza di servire a me e (a lui, ovvero) a' regni delle terre.
9 Therefore Shishak, king of Egypt, attacked Jerusalem and carried off the treasures of the temple of the LORD and of the king's palace. He took everything, including the gold bucklers that Solomon had made.	9 E partissi Sesac di Ierusalem, portandosi il tesoro della casa di Dio e della casa del re; e portò seco tutti li scudi dell' auro, i quali avea fatti Salomone.
10 (To replace them, King Rehoboam made bronze bucklers, which he entrusted to the officers of the guard on duty at the entrance of the royal palace.	10 Per li quali fece il re iscudi d'acciaio, e diedegli a principi degli scudieri, i quali guardavano il vestibolo del palazzo.
11 Whenever the king visited the temple of the LORD, the troops would come bearing them, and then they would return them to the guardroom.)	11 E quando il re entrava nella casa del Signore, andavano i scudieri e toglievangli, e poi gli portavano all' armamentario suo.
12 Because he had humbled himself, the anger of the LORD turned from him so that it did not destroy him completely; and in Judah, moreover, good deeds were found.	12 Ma però che loro si umiliarono, l' ira del Signore cessoe, e non furono in tutto disfatti; però che in Giuda si ritrovarono buone operazioni.
13 King Rehoboam consolidated his power in Jerusalem and continued to rule; he was forty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city in which, out of all the tribes of Israel, the LORD chose to be honored. Rehoboam's mother was named Naamah, an Ammonite.	13 E fortificossi il re Roboam in Ierusalem e regnò; e quando incominciò a regnare era di XLI anno, e XVII anni regnò in Ierusalem, città la quale elesse il Signore a confermare il suo nome ivi, di tutte le tribù d' Israel. Il nome della sua madre fu Naama di Amman.
14 He did evil, for he had not truly resolved to seek the LORD.	14 E fece male, e non apparecchioe il suo cuore a domandare il Signore.
15 The acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are written, as is well known, in the history of Shemaiah the prophet and of Iddo the seer (his family record). There was war continually between Rehoboam and Jeroboam.	15 E l'opere di Roboam, prime e ultime, sono scritte nelli libri di Semeia profeta, e di Addo vidente, e ivi sono esposte diligentemente; e combatterono tra loro Roboam e Ieroboam continuamente.
16 Rehoboam rested with his ancestors; he was buried in the City of David. His son Abijah succeeded him as king.	16 E dormi Roboam co' padri suoi, e fu seppellito nella città di David. E regnò Abia suo figliuolo per lui.
