1 King David then said to the whole assembly: "My son Solomon, whom alone God has chosen, is still young and immature; the work, however, is great, for this castle is not intended for man, but for the LORD God.	1 Il re Davide disse a tutta l'assemblea: "Salomone mio figlio, il solo che Dio ha scelto, è ancora giovane e debole, mentre l'impresa è grandiosa, perché la Dimora non è destinata a un uomo ma al Signore Dio.
2 For this reason I have stored up for the house of my God, as far as I was able, gold for what will be made of gold, silver for what will be made of silver, bronze for what will be made of bronze, iron for what will be made of iron, wood for what will be made of wood, onyx stones and settings for them, carnelian and mosaic stones, every other kind of precious stone, and great quantities of marble.	2 Secondo tutta la mia possibilità ho fatto preparativi per il tempio del mio Dio; ho preparato oro su oro, argento su argento, bronzo su bronzo, ferro su ferro, legname su legname, ònici, brillanti, topàzi, pietre di vario valore e pietre preziose e marmo bianco in quantità.

7 and contributed for the service of the house of God five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, ten thousand talents of silver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze, and one hundred thousand talents of iron.	7 Essi diedero per l'opera del tempio cinquemila talenti d'oro, diecimila darìci, diecimila talenti d'argento, diciottomila talenti di bronzo e centomila talenti di ferro.
8 Those who had precious stones gave them into the keeping of Jehiel the Gershonite for the treasury of the house of the LORD.	8 Quanti si ritrovarono pietre preziose le diedero a Iechièl il Ghersonita, perché fossero depositate nel tesoro del tempio.
9 The people rejoiced over these free-will offerings, which had been contributed to the LORD wholeheartedly. King David also rejoiced greatly.	9 Il popolo gioì per la loro generosità, perché le offerte erano fatte al Signore con cuore sincero; anche il re Davide gioì vivamente.
10 Then David blessed the LORD in the presence of the whole assembly, praying in these words: "Blessed may you be, O LORD, God of Israel our father, from eternity to eternity.	10 Davide benedisse il Signore davanti a tutta l'assemblea. Davide disse: "Sii benedetto, Signore Dio di Israele, nostro padre, ora e sempre.
11 "Yours, O LORD, are grandeur and power, majesty, splendor, and glory. For all in heaven and on earth is yours; yours, O LORD, is the sovereignty; you are exalted as head over all.	11 Tua, Signore, è la grandezza, la potenza, la gloria, lo splendore e la maestà, perché tutto, nei cieli e sulla terra, è tuo. Signore, tuo è il regno; tu ti innalzi sovrano su ogni cosa.
12 "Riches and honor are from you, and you have dominion over all. In your hand are power and might; it is yours to give grandeur and strength to all.	12 Da te provengono la ricchezza e la gloria; tu domini tutto; nella tua mano c'è forza e potenza; dalla tua mano ogni grandezza e potere.
13 Therefore, our God, we give you thanks and we praise the majesty of your name."	13 Ora, nostro Dio, ti ringraziamo e lodiamo il tuo nome glorioso.
14 "But who am I, and who are my people, that we should have the means to contribute so freely? For everything is from you, and we only give you what we have received from you.	14 E chi sono io e chi è il mio popolo, per essere in grado di offrirti tutto questo spontaneamente? 17 I know, O my God, that you put hearts to the test and that you take pleasure in uprightness. With a sincere heart I have willingly given all these things, and now with joy I have seen your people here present also giving to you generously.	17 So, mio Dio, che tu provi i cuori e ti compiaci della rettitudine. 18 O LORD, God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, keep such thoughts in the hearts and minds of your people forever, and direct their hearts toward you.	18 Signore, Dio di Abramo, di Isacco e di Israele, nostri padri, custodisci questo sentimento per sempre nell'intimo del cuore del tuo popolo. Dirigi i loro cuori verso di te.
19 Give to my son Solomon a wholehearted desire to keep your commandments, precepts, and statutes, that he may carry out all these plans and build the castle for which I have made preparation."	19 A Salomone mio figlio concedi un cuore sincero perché custodisca i tuoi comandi, le tue disposizioni e i tuoi decreti, perché eseguisca tutto ciò e costruisca l'edificio, per il quale io ho eseguito i preparativi".
20 Then David besought the whole assembly, "Now bless the LORD your God!" And the whole assembly blessed the LORD, the God of their fathers, bowing down and prostrating themselves before the LORD and before the king.	20 Davide disse a tutta l'assemblea: "Su, benedite il Signore vostro Dio!". Tutta l'assemblea benedisse il Signore, Dio dei suoi padri; si inginocchiarono e si prostrarono davanti al Signore e al re.
21 On the following day they offered sacrifices and holocausts to the LORD, a thousand bulls, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, together with their libations and many other sacrifices for all Israel;	21 Offrirono sacrifici al Signore e gli bruciarono olocausti il giorno dopo: mille giovenchi, mille arieti, mille agnelli con le relative libazioni, oltre numerosi sacrifici per tutto Israele.
22 and on that day they ate and drank in the LORD'S presence with great rejoicing. Then for a second time they proclaimed David's son Solomon king, and they anointed him as the LORD'S prince, and Zadok as priest.	22 Mangiarono e bevvero alla presenza del Signore in quel giorno con manifestazioni di grande gioia. Di nuovo proclamarono re Salomone, figlio di Davide, lo unsero, consacrando lui al Signore come capo e Zadòk come sacerdote.
23 Thereafter Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king in place of his father David; he prospered, and all Israel obeyed him.	23 Salomone sedette sul trono del Signore come re al posto di Davide suo padre; prosperò e tutto Israele gli fu sottomesso.
24 All the leaders and warriors, and also all the other sons of King David, swore allegiance to King Solomon.	24 Tutti gli ufficiali, i prodi e anche tutti i figli del re Davide si sottomisero al re Salomone.
25 And the LORD exalted Solomon greatly in the eyes of all Israel, giving him a glorious reign such as had not been enjoyed by any king over Israel before him.	25 Il Signore rese grande Salomone di fronte a tutto Israele e gli diede uno splendore di regno, che nessun predecessore in Israele aveva avuto.
26 Thus David, the son of Jesse, had reigned over all Israel.	26 Davide, figlio di Iesse, aveva regnato su tutto Israele.
27 The time that he reigned over Israel was forty years: in Hebron he reigned seven years, and in Jerusalem thirty-three.	27 La durata del suo regno su Israele era stata di quarant'anni; in Ebron aveva regnato sette anni e in Gerusalemme trentatré.
28 He died at a ripe old age, rich in years and wealth and glory, and his son Solomon succeeded him as king.	28 Morì molto vecchio, sazio di anni, di ricchezza e di gloria. Al suo posto divenne re il figlio Salomone.
29 Now the deeds of King David, first and last, can be found written in the history of Samuel the seer, the history of Nathan the prophet, and the history of Gad the seer,	29 Le gesta del re Davide, le prime come le ultime, ecco sono descritte nei libri del veggente Samuele, nel libro del profeta Natan e nel libro del veggente Gad,
