1 The descendants of Aaron also were divided into classes. The sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.	1 E de' figliuoli di Aaron queste sono le divisioni. I figliuoli di Aaron: Nadab e Abiu, ed Eleazar e Itamar.
2 Nadab and Abihu died before their father, leaving no sons; therefore only Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests.	2 E morirono senza figliuoli Nadab e Abiu, prima che il padre loro; ed Eleazar e Itamar fecero l'officio del sacerdozio.
3 David, with Zadok, a descendant of Eleazar, and Ahimelech, a descendant of Ithamar, assigned the functions for the priestly service.	3 E divisegli David, cioè Sadoc de' figliuoli di Eleazar, e Aimelec de' figliuoli di Itamar, secondo la vice sua e il ministerio.
4 But since the descendants of Eleazar were found to be more numerous than those of Ithamar, the former were divided into sixteen groups, and the latter into eight groups, each under its family head.	4 E trovaronsi molto più i figliuoli di Eleazar uomini principi, che i figliuoli di Itamar. 5 Their functions were assigned impartially by lot, for there were officers of the holy place, and officers of the divine presence, descended both from Eleazar and from Ithamar.	5 Le une e le altre famiglie divise tra loro per sorte; però ch' erano prìncipi del santuario, e prìncipi (della casa) di Dio, così de' figliuoli di Eleazar, come de' figliuoli d' Itamar.
6 The scribe Shemaiah, son of Nethanel, a Levite, made a record of it in the presence of the king, and of the leaders, of Zadok the priest, and of Ahimelech, son of Abiathar, and of the heads of the ancestral houses of the priests and of the Levites, listing two successive family groups from Eleazar before each one from Ithamar.	6 E descrissegli Semeia figliuolo di Natanael, scriba Levita, dinanzi al re e principi, e Sadoc sacerdote, e Aimelec figliuolo di Abiatar, e dai prìncipi delle famiglie sacerdotali e Levitiche; una casa, la quale era sopra tutti, fu quella di Eleazar; e l'altra, la quale avea sotto sè tutte l' altre, fu quella d' Itamar.
7 The first lot fell to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah,	7 E uscie la prima sorte a Ioiarib, la seconda a Iedei,
8 the third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,	8 la terza ad Arim, la quarta a Seorim,
9 the fifth to Malchijah, the sixth to Mijamin,	9 la quinta a Melchia, la sesta a Maiman,
