1 ואת ביתו בנה שלמה שלש עשרה שנה ויכל את כל ביתו	1 As regards his palace, Solomon spent thirteen years on it before the building was completed.
2 ויבן את בית יער הלבנון מאה אמה ארכו וחמשים אמה רחבו ושלשים אמה קומתו על ארבעה טורי עמודי ארזים וכרתות ארזים על העמודים	2 He built the House of the Forest of Lebanon, a hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide, and thirty cubitshigh, on four rows of cedar-wood pil ars,
3 וספן בארז ממעל על הצלעת אשר על העמודים ארבעים וחמשה חמשה עשר הטור	3 with lengths of cedar wood laid horizontal y on the pil ars. The upper part was panel ed with cedar rightdown to the tie-beams on forty-five pillars, fifteen in each row.
4 ושקפים שלשה טורים ומחזה אל מחזה שלש פעמים	4 There were three rows of window-frames, with the windows corresponding to one another at threelevels.
5 וכל הפתחים והמזוזות רבעים שקף ומול מחזה אל מחזה שלש פעמים	5 Al the doorways and windows were rectangular, with the windows corresponding to one another atthree levels.
6 ואת אולם העמודים עשה חמשים אמה ארכו ושלשים אמה רחבו ואולם על פניהם ועמדים ועב על פניהם	6 He also made the Colonnade, fifty cubits long and thirty cubits broad, with a cornice in front.
7 ואולם הכסא אשר ישפט שם אלם המשפט עשה וספון בארז מהקרקע עד הקרקע	7 He also made the Hal of the Throne where he used to dispense justice, that is, the Hal of Justice; it waspanel ed in cedar from floor to beams.
8 וביתו אשר ישב שם חצר האחרת מבית לאולם כמעשה הזה היה ובית יעשה לבת פרעה אשר לקח שלמה כאולם הזה	8 His own living quarters, in the other court and inwards from the Hal , were of the same construction. Andthere was a house similar to this Hal for Pharaoh's daughter whom he had taken in marriage.
9 כל אלה אבנים יקרת כמדת גזית מגררות במגרה מבית ומחוץ וממסד עד הטפחות ומחוץ עד החצר הגדולה	9 Al these buildings were of special stones cut to measure, trimmed on the inner and outer sides with thesaw, from the foundations to the coping-
10 ומיסד אבנים יקרות אבנים גדלות אבני עשר אמות ואבני שמנה אמות	10 the foundations were of special stones, huge stones, of ten and eight cubits,
11 ומלמעלה אבנים יקרות כמדות גזית וארז	11 and, above these, special stones, cut to measure, and cedar wood-
12 וחצר הגדולה סביב שלשה טורים גזית וטור כרתת ארזים ולחצר בית יהוה הפנימית ולאלם הבית	12 and, on the outside, the great court had three courses of dressed stone round it and one course ofcedar beams; so also had the inner court of the Temple of Yahweh and the vestibule of the Temple.
13 וישלח המלך שלמה ויקח את חירם מצר	13 King Solomon sent for Hiram of Tyre;
14 בן אשה אלמנה הוא ממטה נפתלי ואביו איש צרי חרש נחשת וימלא את החכמה ואת התבונה ואת הדעת לעשות כל מלאכה בנחשת ויבוא אל המלך שלמה ויעש את כל מלאכתו	14 he was the son of a widow of the tribe of Naphtali, but his father had been a Tyrian, a bronzeworker.He was a highly intel igent craftsman, skil ed in al types of bronzework. He came to King Solomon and did althis work for him.
15 ויצר את שני העמודים נחשת שמנה עשרה אמה קומת העמוד האחד וחוט שתים עשרה אמה יסב את העמוד השני	15 He cast the two bronze pillars; the height of one pil ar was eighteen cubits, and a cord twelve cubitslong gave the measurement of its girth; so also was the second pil ar.
16 ושתי כתרת עשה לתת על ראשי העמודים מצק נחשת חמש אמות קומת הכתרת האחת וחמש אמות קומת הכתרת השנית	16 He made two capitals of cast bronze for the tops of the pil ars; the height of one capital was five cubits,and the height of the other five cubits.
17 שבכים מעשה שבכה גדלים מעשה שרשרות לכתרת אשר על ראש העמודים שבעה לכתרת האחת ושבעה לכתרת השנית	17 He made two sets of filigree to cover the moulding of the two capitals surmounting the pil ars, onefiligree for one capital and one filigree for the other.
18 ויעש את העמודים ושני טורים סביב על השבכה האחת לכסות את הכתרת אשר על ראש הרמנים וכן עשה לכתרת השנית	18 He also made pomegranates: two rows of them round each filigree,four hundred in al ,
19 וכתרת אשר על ראש העמודים מעשה שושן באולם ארבע אמות	19 The capitals surrounding the pil ars were lily-shaped.
20 וכתרת על שני העמודים גם ממעל מלעמת הבטן אשר לעבר שבכה והרמונים מאתים טרים סביב על הכתרת השנית	20 applied on the raised moulding behind the filigree; there were two hundred pomegranates round onecapital and the same round the other capital.
21 ויקם את העמדים לאלם ההיכל ויקם את העמוד הימני ויקרא את שמו יכין ויקם את העמוד השמאלי ויקרא את שמו בעז	21 He erected the pil ars in front of the portico of the Temple, he erected the right-hand pil ar and named itJachin; he erected the left-hand pil ar and named it Boaz.
22 ועל ראש העמודים מעשה שושן ותתם מלאכת העמודים	22 Thus, the work on the pillars was completed.
23 ויעש את הים מוצק עשר באמה משפתו עד שפתו עגל סביב וחמש באמה קומתו וקוה שלשים באמה יסב אתו סביב	23 He made the Sea of cast metal, ten cubits from rim to rim, circular in shape and five cubits high; a cordthirty cubits long gave the measurement of its girth.
24 ופקעים מתחת לשפתו סביב סבבים אתו עשר באמה מקפים את הים סביב שני טורים הפקעים יצקים ביצקתו	24 Under its rim and completely encircling it were gourds surrounding the Sea; over a length of thirtycubits the gourds were in two rows, of one and the same casting with the rest.
25 עמד על שני עשר בקר שלשה פנים צפונה ושלשה פנים ימה ושלשה פנים נגבה ושלשה פנים מזרחה והים עליהם מלמעלה וכל אחריהם ביתה	25 It rested on twelve oxen, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, three facing east; onthese, their hindquarters al turned inwards, stood the Sea.
26 ועביו טפח ושפתו כמעשה שפת כוס פרח שושן אלפים בת יכיל	26 It was a hand's breadth in thickness, and its rim was shaped like the rim of a cup, lily-shaped. It couldhold two thousand measures.
27 ויעש את המכנות עשר נחשת ארבע באמה ארך המכונה האחת וארבע באמה רחבה ושלש באמה קומתה	27 He made the ten bronze stands; each stand was four cubits long, four cubits wide, and three high.
28 וזה מעשה המכונה מסגרת להם ומסגרת בין השלבים	28 They were designed as fol ows; they had an undercarriage and crosspieces to the undercarriage.
29 ועל המסגרות אשר בין השלבים אריות בקר וכרובים ועל השלבים כן ממעל ומתחת לאריות ולבקר ליות מעשה מורד	29 On the crosspieces of the undercarriage were lions and bul s and winged creatures, and on top of theundercarriage was a support; under the lions and oxen there were scrolls in the style of. . .
30 וארבעה אופני נחשת למכונה האחת וסרני נחשת וארבעה פעמתיו כתפת להם מתחת לכיר הכתפת יצקות מעבר איש ליות	30 Each stand had four bronze wheels with bronze axles; its four feet had shoulderings under the basin,and the shoulderings were cast. . .
31 ופיהו מבית לכתרת ומעלה באמה ופיה עגל מעשה כן אמה וחצי האמה וגם על פיה מקלעות ומסגרתיהם מרבעות לא עגלות	31 Its mouth measured one and a half cubits from where the shoulderings met to the top; its mouth wasround like a stand for a vessel, and on the mouth there were engravings too; the crosspieces, however, wererectangular and not round.
32 וארבעת האופנים למתחת למסגרות וידות האופנים במכונה וקומת האופן האחד אמה וחצי האמה	32 The four wheels were under the crosspieces. The axles of the wheels were inside the stands; theheight of the wheels was one and a half cubits.
33 ומעשה האופנים כמעשה אופן המרכבה ידותם וגביהם וחשקיהם וחשריהם הכל מוצק	33 The wheels were designed like chariot wheels: their axles, felloes, spokes and naves had al been cast.
34 וארבע כתפות אל ארבע פנות המכנה האחת מן המכנה כתפיה	34 There were four shoulderings at the four corners of each stand: the stand and the shoulderings were alof a piece.
35 ובראש המכונה חצי האמה קומה עגל סביב ועל ראש המכנה ידתיה ומסגרתיה ממנה	35 At the top of the stand there was a support, circular in shape and half a cubit high; and on top of thestand there were lugs. The crosspieces were of a piece with the stand.
36 ויפתח על הלחת ידתיה ועל ומסגרתיה כרובים אריות ותמרת כמער איש וליות סביב	36 On the bands he engraved winged creatures and lions and palm leaves. . . and scrol s right round.
37 כזאת עשה את עשר המכנות מוצק אחד מדה אחת קצב אחד לכלהנה	37 He made the ten stands like this: the same casting and the same measurements for all.
38 ויעש עשרה כירות נחשת ארבעים בת יכיל הכיור האחד ארבע באמה הכיור האחד כיור אחד על המכנה האחת לעשר המכונות	38 He made ten bronze basins; each basin held forty measures and each basin measured four cubits, onebasin to each of the ten stands.
39 ויתן את המכנות חמש על כתף הבית מימין וחמש על כתף הבית משמאלו ואת הים נתן מכתף הבית הימנית קדמה ממול נגב	39 He arranged the stands, five on the right-hand side of the Temple, five on the left-hand side of theTemple; the Sea he placed on the right-hand side of the Temple, to the south east.
40 ויעש חירום את הכירות ואת היעים ואת המזרקות ויכל חירם לעשות את כל המלאכה אשר עשה למלך שלמה בית יהוה	40 Hiram made the ash containers, the scoops and the sprinkling bowls. He finished all the work that hedid for King Solomon on the Temple of Yahweh:
41 עמדים שנים וגלת הכתרת אשר על ראש העמדים שתים והשבכות שתים לכסות את שתי גלת הכתרת אשר על ראש העמודים	41 Two pil ars; the two mouldings of the capitals surrounding the pil ars; the two sets of filigree to coverthe two mouldings of the capitals surmounting the pil ars;
42 ואת הרמנים ארבע מאות לשתי השבכות שני טורים רמנים לשבכה האחת לכסות את שתי גלת הכתרת אשר על פני העמודים	42 the four hundred pomegranates for the two sets of filigree -- two rows of pomegranates for each set offiligree;
43 ואת המכנות עשר ואת הכירת עשרה על המכנות	43 the ten stands and the ten basins on the stands;
44 ואת הים האחד ואת הבקר שנים עשר תחת הים	44 the one Sea and the twelve oxen beneath the Sea;
45 ואת הסירות ואת היעים ואת המזרקות ואת כל הכלים האהל אשר עשה חירם למלך שלמה בית יהוה נחשת ממרט	45 the ash containers, the scoops, and sprinkling bowls. All these objects made by Hiram for KingSolomon for the Temple of Yahweh were of burnished bronze.
46 בככר הירדן יצקם המלך במעבה האדמה בין סכות ובין צרתן	46 He made them by the process of sand casting, in the plain of the Jordan between Succoth andZarethan.
47 וינח שלמה את כל הכלים מרב מאד מאד לא נחקר משקל הנחשת	47 There were so many of them, that the weight of the bronze was never calculated.
48 ויעש שלמה את כל הכלים אשר בית יהוה את מזבח הזהב ואת השלחן אשר עליו לחם הפנים זהב	48 Solomon made all the objects designed for the Temple of Yahweh: the golden altar and the gold tablefor the loaves of permanent offering;
49 ואת המנרות חמש מימין וחמש משמאול לפני הדביר זהב סגור והפרח והנרת והמלקחים זהב	49 the lamp-stands, five on the right and five on the left in front of the Debir, of pure gold; the floral work,the lamps, the tongs, of gold;
50 והספות והמזמרות והמזרקות והכפות והמחתות זהב סגור והפתות לדלתות הבית הפנימי לקדש הקדשים לדלתי הבית להיכל זהב	50 the basins, the snuffers, the sprinkling bowls, the incense ladles and the pans, of real gold; the doorpanels -- for the inner shrine -- that is, the Holy of Holies -- and for the Hekal, of gold.
51 ותשלם כל המלאכה אשר עשה המלך שלמה בית יהוה ויבא שלמה את קדשי דוד אביו את הכסף ואת הזהב ואת הכלים נתן באצרות בית יהוה	51 Thus al the work done by King Solomon for the Temple of Yahweh was completed, and Solomonbrought in the gifts which his father David had consecrated; and he had the silver, the gold and the utensils putinto the treasuries of the Temple of Yahweh.
