1 Cantico de' gradi. Di Salomone. Se il Signore non edifica egli la casa, invano si affaticano quegli, che la edificano.	1 A song of ascents. When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, then we thought we were dreaming.
2 Se il Signore non sarà egli il custode della città, indarno veglia colui, che la custodisce.	2 Our mouths were filled with laughter; our tongues sang for joy. Then it was said among the nations, "The LORD had done great things for them."
3 E cosa inutile a voi il levarvi prima del giorno: levatevi dopo, che avrete riposato voi, che mangiate pan di dolore.	3 The LORD has done great things for us; Oh, how happy we were!
4 Quando egli a' suoi diletti avrà dato il sonno, ecco dal Signore l'eredità, i figliuoli, il lucro, i parti.	4 Restore again our fortunes, LORD, like the dry stream beds of the Negeb.
5 Quai saette nella mano d'uomo possente, cosi sono i figliuoli dei tribolati.	5 Those who sow in tears will reap with cries of joy.
6 Beato l'uomo, il di cui desiderio riguardo ad essi è adempiuto: ei non sarà svergognato quando avrà da parlare co' suoi nemici alla porta.	6 Those who go forth weeping, carrying sacks of seed, Will return with cries of joy, carrying their bundled sheaves.
